Your cat is so funny! I can relate especially when I am putting things together that require hardware. They tend to play hockey with them and run away. Not good.
Thanks for this idea! I loved your final result! I actually did a different variation. I went to the Dollar Tree and purchased a floor mat as well as a small box containing various nail sizes. I wrapped the mat around the tree, and nailed the mat around the four sides of the scratching post. I used the 1/4" nails for the first wrap around on each side, and then when the mat went around the second time, I used the 1/2" nails to tack the remainder of the mat to scratching post. My cat took to it immediately. Total cost: $2.50 + tax, and time spent: 35 minutes (30 minutes removing sisal rope and 5 minutes nailing mat to scratching post). The look is nice and sleek, and I can choose different color mats to match my decor.
I love the twisted rope underneath! I found a. Old cat scratching tree on the curb in my neighborhood so I'm going fix up the posts and it will look brand new! Just in time for Christmas! 😊
Thank you so much for this video, my cats scratching post is similar to yours and I've been wanting to re do it myself and this video really help give my ideas. I'll need to go to hobby lobby to get rope!!
How has the glue held up over time? I wanna do this but my cat goes crazy, I'm worried he'd rip the glue right off xD Did the glue last until your cat tore up the rope again, or should I maybe just use some nails?
I was given a larger pole scratcher, so when it wore out I didn’t choose to redo the rope again… so I’m not sure how difficult it would have been, but I don’t think very.

Cute. Your cat was a great helper! I just bought 100 ft of jute to repair mine.

That’s awesome!
I love how your cat is trying to help 😂 how cute 🥰
Great help, your cat was.
That’s great but I wish you would have shown how u applied the super glue
Step 1: Put glue on rope
Step 2: Put rope on post
Step 3: Profit??
That cat is hilarious, i may try to do this with the super glue, and i never seen that rib design done either. You did an awesome job
Love the twisted rope element. Your cat is adorable 😻
A good idea. I did buy a cheap replacement pole once made in Italy. It used cardboard rope which lasted about a week. Buy cheap-buy twice🎉

Thanks! He was definitely involved in the project😂

If you super glue it, it will be difficult to get rid of the rope for the next repair!

Thanks for sharing. Now I know how to do it. 😻
What's the point of making a demo video without the demo? Oh well, thanks for the idea. Cute kitty!
When it’s time to replace that, is removing the super glued rope difficult?
Yes, it requires permits
@@DT95978 thanks! I make the proper phone calls.

With the super glue. How will you get the rope off to repair again?

Hot glue gun works best.
