- I doubt that you would find anyone who havent heard about Stalingrad battle. It was one one the most important battles of WWII and maybe the most important. We, the mankind owe a great debt to soviet soldiers who crushed the fascist armies in Stalingrad.
This video was one of the most difficult to make, it lasted for three days before I finally finished.
I will be grateful for your comments and of course for your rating if you would like to. Thanks.

Hats off to the heroes of the battle of Stalingrad.
My congrats to soviet people who fought heroically !
noledareminombreaunamaquina Viva Allende.
Out of all the WWII music I have ever heard, this has been the first song to tear my heart out.
Boris Chernokovski Do not insult people by their nation or ethnicity or race. It's all quite racism and all quite incorrect and ignorant.

Listened to this exact video on the train to Volgograd (Stalingrad) via Moscow on July 30th, 2011. Beautiful time never forgotten.
May all those who gave there lives in the Defence of Stalingrad know eternal rest, we must make sure there sacrifice was not in vain comrades, remember what they fought and died for.
Respect to all those who fought in the most cruel in the history of civilization and war decisive battle.
Like Nazis joked: you capture a kitchen, you could not be sure you can get to the living room.
Vytas R Russia and China did play the most decisive position during the War.Theirs no doubt about it.
Thank you for your words, comrade, you are right, the film is called "The Stalingrad Battle", it was shot in 1949 by Vladimir Petrov. This is the first film about events of 1942-43 and quite realistic, if you can omit all these words praising Stalin :-)
Are you kidding? This was brilliantly compiled. The song is nothing without it.
Thank you, you know, this video is not about communism, fascism or capitalism. Its simply about soviet people who defended their country. And in the end, its all about allied nations who stood together against nazi germany. Its about soviet, american and british (and other) soldiers, who shed blood, sweat and tears to bring down swastikas.
They Fought good. Defended their land with Every inch of blood
Oh, you, Volga, wide Volga,
Who doesn't love your shores?
You are like the sea, full,
Wide and strong,
And fearsome to our enemies.
Above the great Russian river
Stands an impregnable sentinel.
This is the city-soldier,
This is the city-hero,
This is our battle-hardened Stalingrad!
The city holds the golden keys
To coveted paths and roads,
And in the decisive hour,
It fought time and again,
And didn't let the enemy cross its threshold.
The fascist hordes sought to reach the Volga,
Our homeland was engulfed in fire,
But at the doors of the Volga,
Defending the beasts,
Stood the mighty hero, Stalingrad.
From its birth, the land had not seen
Such a siege, such a battle.
The earth trembled,
And the fields turned red,
Everything blazed above the River Volga.
Day after day, the people of Stalingrad fought
In an unprecedented bloody struggle.
In those fearsome days,
They defended both their Motherland and the Volga.
And gathering their heroic strength,
And spreading their chest wide,
The Stalingrad hero
Crushed countless enemies
At the shores of their native land.
Glory to the city, twice a hero,
Glory to the mother of all Russian rivers,
Glory to all the brave warriors,
The fighters of Stalingrad,
Glory to the Motherland, glory forever!
I definitely know about Battle of Stalingrad, it is extremely highly regarded of in China, and Mao at that time believed that it would be the turning point of the whole war. The majority of academia in the West also acknowledged the fact.
Great gratitude towards Soviet soldiers who fought in the frontline of the Eastern Front. You have thrown the Third Reich and their anti-human belief, as well as the notion of Social Darwinism, into the dustbin of history. That is why Social Darwinism is widely recognized as politically incorrect today, throughout the world.
Qingyuan Feng Stalin was also a Darwinist.
Qingyuan Feng Stalin was grateful for China’s contribution of holding off a 1 million strong force that was suppose to march into the USSR to have Soviet forces flee Stalingrad to counter the Japanese.

Pavlov house=Monument to soviet power.
Do not agree. Pavlov's house is a monument to the defenders of Stalingrad. This is generally one of the two surviving houses in the city. All the others were destroyed.
I agree to both comrades
The film is called "Stalingrad battle" and it was shot in 1949. The first ever film about events of 1942-1943.
excellent video. it really shows the bravery and heroism that those in the battle had to show on a daily basis during the greatest battle in history. its sad that people are forgetting but videos like this and many other efforts will hopefully change that.
At 3:56, that's not Pavlov's House, but Chuikov's command stand, Pavlovs house was some meters away from it, if you would turn the camera around.
--Rodimtsev's command post.
Thanks. My late mother used to correspond to a woman from (Stalingrad) Volgagrad who was a little girl at the time. She had things from the city in her China cabinet. Not everyone forgets these brave men, but too many do....
a terrible battle but a criticle one. The Red Army showed its determination to win. the men (and women of course) who fought there should never be forgotten.
All hail to the valiant heroes of the Soviet Union and to the great Russian army.I'm an Egyptian and I know how the Soviet Union helped build my country's economy and army during the 50s and the 60s. The Soviets not only conquered the Nazis in Stalingrad but fought hard against vicious capitalism throughout the world. I am so grateful to Kalinin1917 for uploading such magnificent videos. All hail comrades!!!
ARE YOU A MUSLIM ?
WOW I'm absolutely mazmarized by this masterpiece. As I have read below me I hope to get a copy for myself. Glory to Soviet soldiers who said NO to tyranny and destroyed the enemy in its lair. I proudly salute these brave men!
Well thank you very much, Im glad you like it.
Volgograd must be renamed in Stalingrad again.
We owe it all to the Soviet soldiers. They contributed 95% of total axis casualties. The US only contributed 3%.
Not axis casualties, just German casualties, but you are right still about us owing thanks to the Soviets for helping to defeat the fascists. Though I would like to point out that Stalin was eager to be Hitler's friend and that the Soviets would not have helped against the fascists, and may have even supported the Fascists if Hitler had not been a lunatic and back stabbed Stalin with Operation Barbarossa.
im glad someone people know the truth.
Justin Kautz Stalin always planned to invade Germany. He was only faking to be friends to prevent war happening before USSR was ready.
Vladimir Lenin Fact!
Kyle Pettis I do not see why we have to owe them anything considering that the only nation they fought heavily was Nazi Germany. Also, Nazi Germany was not a threat to US defense on the scale that Japan was. Furthermore, we gave the Soviets supplies of trucks, aircraft, medical supplies and food aid as the price for fighting the Nazis. Considering we gave them that we do not owe them a thing. But I will concede that they fought splendidly while asserting that we owe them nothing.
And after all this you see americans claiming the won the war alone.
I don't know any Americans that claim that. xD lol
oOoMarkisoOo I only know americans that claim that. Only one single exception..
Well living in America i can tell you. That everyone i speak to give props to everyone that fought in WWII Even the Nazi veterans get praise. Because they where not Hitler. =)
oOoMarkisoOo really? because most people here doesnt even know what soviet russia did in ww2, americans praise Nazi veterans?! HAHAHAHA what a nice joke
fukerwolf 190 The reason people do not know there is because your school failed you, beause the teachers do not care for facts, but care alot about making any Socialist/Communist country look bad, and to make america look like the best thing ever. I myself would easily be able to tell you, and prove to you that Hitler's political ways are equal to yours though. Just because he made something called National Socialism, it does not mean he was Socialist in any way.
Fantastic Video-
A truly epic battle.
The Turning Point of World War II.

Thanks for Posting, Komrade !
First song in a long time to legitimately give me goose bumps.
Thank you, the thing that no-one should ever forget.
Thank you, Im glad you like it.
This song is so inspirational and powerful. I will never forget it.
Stalin was no where near Stalingrad. He awards himself medals. It was Marshall Zhukov who gets all the credit for the victorious Red Army and not the brutal Stalin or Beria.
Well, I have to tell you, that I have "The song about Volzsky Hercules" (translated to english), but the problem is to make "another" video, about Stalingrad battle. I mean to find some footage that is not present on youtube already.
@chasba3000 I dont know if you are familiar with the german units that stayed in the west and defended the atlantic wall. Those were units already from the eastern front, but mainly almost destroyed in the fights of Moscow, Stalingrad, Kurk...
@the2ndgenesis The film is called Stalingrad battle (1949) - directed by V. Petrov. And the name of this song is exactly "The song about Stalingrad".
I hope for peace between America and Russia and dedicate myself as a historian to the preservations of the memories of my and your ancestors who gave the last full measure for freedom. Russia, you lost nearly 30 million civilians and soldiers because of Barbarossa, Dostoyevsky and Chekhov's houses were ransacked and Chekhov's burnt. you lost the most of all the allies. thank you for your sacrifice and your bravery. we must never forget, thank you.
Thank you for your wonderful comment.
@@Kalinin1917 hi
To be honest, I dont know what to say. Im deeply touched by your words. Thank you.
Excellent tribute to the brave stalwart Russian people who prevailed under the most difficult conditions to defeat the aggressors and successfully defend their homeland and their families.
The thing is that Pavlov's house wasnt important at all. It was just another apartmnet building in Stalingrad. But soldiers of Pavlov took it from germans and withstood every counte-rattack for almost a month. (not to mention that they inflicted heavy losses to germans). That building was also used as artirelly observation point.
But Pavlov's house became more of symbol soviet toughnes and dedication to fight to the end.
just one word: PERFECT!!!
you did it great, this video make me cry at the end.
Thanks Russia, for all those mens who gave their lives for the freedom.
congrats 4 Latin America
To the troops of stalingrad and Moscow : I tip my hat to you one hero to another
Could you imagine how scary it must have been, crossing over the Volga on those boats? 0_ 0
Mr. Pilgrim at the same time was the “safest” and way to keep the Soviet frontlines from actually collapsing. But the crossing was harassed by both artillery and mostly by the German Air Force. But nothing the Soviet Air Force could do at the time was desperate and the air force was thin
Great Video! You did a fine job with it,
Although I'm a capitalist at heart,I will say my heart swelled with pride for these brave Soviet soldiers and civilians who endured this horrific battle,
Stalingrad!
Thank you, dear comrade. Your words mean a lot to me.
February 2 - Day of Military Glory in Russia. On this day, 73 years ago, Soviet soldiers completely surrounded and defeated the fascist troops at Stalingrad!
Let us please, for the love of humanity, set aside our differences and understand that we must co-exist for fear of destruction. If not we are domed to make the same mistakes of the people before us.
world has not learned anything, we now live under global capitalism which brings destruction to humanity everyday.

Nicely done. Sadly, not only will you find people who haven't "heard" of Stalingrad, you will find people who haven't heard of Stalin. Thank you for the reminders.
*tear* so beautiful my comrades...
BTW, thanks for posting this. It goes really well with the footage.
This is pure beauty
Thank you mate, it means to me a lot.
so many thx for upload this video, its make me cry.
This was a very very VERY good video.
I reconised the house of Pavlov so good from the game Call of Duty. That was so wierd. Comrade, you are a very good video maker. URA!!!!!!!
this is one of best videos about Stalingrad which i saw
very nice comrade!
5 red stars
@GDRArmist Exactly. Both Stalingrad battle and The Liberation are great.
@NinjaDoctor9 Yes, Im aware of that fact. But my opinion about the role of the soivets is different. The allied help was/is really appreciated, but as I have said many times over, it covered just 10% of the soviet need (G. Roberts - Stalin's war,2009). The second front was fine, sure, it was a great morale boost, but despite this fact, Hitler still shifted his division to the east, no matter where they were place originaly. Even when your armies were crossing the Rhine, he pulled some divison
this is soo epic, red army choir has the best anthems! period!
No, you get me wrong. What segeant Pavlov and his (probably 20 men) did was absolutely unbelievable. They severly ditrupted actions of wermacht and germans just couldnt pass that point despite artirelly barage, tank and air support, they just couldnt move.
That isnt and havent been "ussual" or "ordinary". On the contrary, it was an excelent example of heroism of soviet soldiers.
Мой дед, Смирнов Алексей Александрович, медаль " За оборону Сталинграда".
@NinjaDoctor9 Great, thats what I was trying to point out in my videos, the cooperation of allied nations, despite the difference in the type of government. I have also said many times, that it was really shameful that the war-time cooperation didnt last longer, through the peace time.
And thank you for your words.
Salute to your brave nation, the nation that took the fight on their own and liberated other countries, salute to the all great heroes and people that are sacrificed, greetings from Serbia to my Russian brothers and other countries from the ex soviet.
Приветствую. Благодарю. Из России.
"I doubt that you would find anyone who havent heard about Stalingrad battle."
Justin Beiber hasn't heard of Germany.
Thank you very much.
Its not possible, that part is original from the film. Apart from the subtitles I havent done anything with it.
Thanks for uploading. I've got a bunch of these things on my drive now, set to play in Victoria 2 when the time is right.
God, it takes forever building train tracks through Russia...
Thx, Im glad you like it.
The most heroic nation ever, Soviet Union
@ Stalin corrected the mistakes of Trotsky Trotsky destroyed the people of Russia
It's not entirely rumors, but it's important to note that a lot of deaths can be attributed to war, or the much-needed modernization of the Soviet Union. If not the massive bodycount caused by rapid industrialization, collectivization, redirection of resources, etc. The Soviet Union wouldn't have been able to hold back against the German onslaught.
I am not mentioning, however, issues such as exiling of the Poles, Greeks, Koreans, and other minorities.
@ 20 million soviets were killed by nazi germany in just under 5 years too..
Great video and song. My great grandfather was a friend of Lenin, if that interests you...

Dear Kalinin,
In case you do not have the full length Petrov (1949) epic, it is available as a "Region 0" (world-wide play) through "International Historical Films" for 35 USD. It is very cheap at this price for such a work of art. This is much less than some comments below might indicate. My copy is in Texas, but will check it's Europe play-ability when back in the UK.

Another wrong information, about Stalin's reward was decided by collegium of generals and members of politbyro. And Stalin's contribution to victory in Stalingrad was greater than you are able to acknowledge. Nontheless it was plan of marhal Zhukov to encyrcle axis forces.
Huh, great video. Really fits. And without being communist or even Russian (in fact - I'm German), I'll have to admit this was one of the most heroic battles of mankind!
Can someone post the complete English lyrics here, please? That'd be great!
This is the most moving song of World War II, capturing so much emotion and sense of loss in mankind's deadliest battle. May I ask what movie were the scenes taken from?
