Its probably because Halo was pretty basic as a scifi game (as in it was close to the fundamental elements of most scifi genres, and never really expanded). Loved the games myself, but its never really been about the story. Personally im finding the gameplay much more rewarding on destiny, and while the story definitely needs work, we could have said the same about halo 1 at the time (lets be honest, half the background to the entire halo story we take for granted now wasnt even an afterthought for many players during halo 1).

Indeed, Halo 3 had the perfect conclusion to the saga we once knew and loved. Covenant: defeated, Flood: destroyed, War: Over, we won and even made new friends (the elites). The legendary ending for Halo 3 was (IMO) an open ending. 343 was created by Microsoft with the sole purpose of keep making Halo games, Microsoft refused to let go their best exclusive... it's sad because Microsoft's incompetence and money hunger killed one of the best videogame sagas of all time. Halo has no meaning now, it's just a brand. RIP 2001-2010 (yeah, I think Reach was pretty good)

yeah Destiny is a lot like Halo but that's fine. It was a cool idea about mixing a fps with a multiplayer experience. Where they went wrong, is that pretty much every mission is the same, but with more shooting. There's no variety or creativity. There was way more creativity put into the first Halo game.

Indeed, Halo 3 had the perfect conclusion to the saga we once knew and loved. Covenant: defeated, Flood: destroyed, War: Over, we won and even made new friends (the elites). The legendary ending for Halo 3 was (IMO) an open ending.
343 was created by Microsoft with the sole purpose of keep making Halo games, Microsoft refused to let go their best exclusive... it's sad because Microsoft's incompetence and money hunger killed one of the best videogame sagas of all time. Halo has no meaning now, it's just a brand.

Please. The Taken King didn't make Destiny worse. If anything it made it better. "Vanilla" Destiny was already a major let down.
Alex Jones In what ways did it make it better it made Rares better then some exotics and legendaries now you need to grind your ass endlessly to get a legendary or exotuc just so you find a better rare, yeah there is infusion but there isn't a 100% chance it will be at the same damage lvl and 90% of the "new" add-ons are reskins, it changed everything for the worse

yeah Destiny is a lot like Halo but that's fine. It was a cool idea about mixing a fps with a multiplayer experience.
Where they went wrong, is that pretty much every mission is the same, but with more shooting. There's no variety or creativity.
There was way more creativity put into the first Halo game.
