You're a legend Josh .Great film but I felt guilty sprawled on my sofa, with tea and food, whilst watching you battle into that wind and rain.

That looked pretty epic Josh - a headwind for more than 50 miles... exhausting and demoralising. I'm deeply admiring of your resilience and tenacity in digging in and getting through it. Lesser mortals would bail and get the bus/train. You do make me smile tho - I love that you use the plural "we", when it's just you... or is it you and the bike? Or you and an imaginary friend? (we may never know). And I worry about your diet ... truly... never a vegetable passes your lips. Ginsters? Questionable nutritional value ... if you are what you eat, I fear you may be a pasty!

I feel your pain bro. I did the canti way last year and never ridden in wind like it. The section from broadstairs to rye was brutal, and I was on an emtb. Christ knows how you do it on Josh power alone, massive respect to your fitness and resilience 👊🏻. Of course it had to hail at the end 😂. Keep em coming Josh, your an inspiration.
if you'd let me know you were passing by Dymchurch you could have camped in the garden - but still wouldn't have been as comfortable as the bird watching shelter.... i'll keep that option in mind when on my trips. keep riding, keep making the vlogs, great inspiration and content...
Some of them are pretty nice, some places do lock them though.

Really loved this video especially as I was born in Hythe (30 mins from Dover)..I did chuckle at your pronunciation of Dungeness, you called it Dug Ness, you actually pronounce it ‘Dungeon ness’.. However from now on I’m calling it Dug Ness.. Absolutely fantastic video well done 👍👍

Brutal south westerly winds are killers on the coast. I have considered doing this whole route, as I have my inlaws in Saltwood just outside of Hythe, Kent. I ridden to them by road bike but I fancy bikepacking it more. Hopefully not in the winds like you had though. Good going to push on through
you definitely don't want that wind, was bloody ridiculous
@@KeepSmilingAdventures I rode once back to Newhaven in France in a monster headwind for 12 hours. I contemplated my life choices for most of it 😂

normally just the finish line wet lube, i have some of that squirt lube to try at the moment so we will see
@KeepSmilingAdventures Sorry to jump in lol I've been using Bannaslip Tungsten all weather lube, it's waxed based as well. Last ages and its so quiet. Just a good all-rounder, if you don't like the squirt haha

Enjoyed that. You are a machine! Do you secure bike to tent or lock it? I'd be worried of waking up to find no bike.
i normally use the bike as a guy rope attachment, but when wild camping you should be pretty hidden so waking up to no bike should never really be a problem. touch wood

What are you using to plan these gravel based rides? I tend to always end up on the road as default
Great video as always mate. Question for you. Do you end the garmin each day and do you put them into one ride on strava or just leave them as individual day rides.
i end the ride each day then combine them. Less spammy for the strava followers.
How do you plan your routes? Do you use Komoot / Strava and follow a recommended route or plot it yourself? Love the channel 🤟
i plot it myself, mostly using komoot nowadays. But i also just know a lot of the trails/roads from years of riding.
