- Liu Kang is the leader/creator of the new timeline. Some of the fighters are happy with his work, while others despise him. Some fighter's are conflicted. Whatever side they are on, everyone has a strong feeling towards Liu Kang.
VGM: Mortal Kombat Armageddon - Meteor Storm
Liu Kang: That's a nice family, hero. It'd be a shame if they just... disappeared
hey you added in a intro from a character that shows no hate to liukang
Poor Smoke...
Meteor storm my favorite soundtrack from Armageddon
1) There isn't much hatred for Liu Kang here, to be honest.
2) Shao not wanting to throw his armies at Liu Kang and coming to deal with him personally? Why do they keep giving more justice to characters in the intros rather than in the story mode, when they are, in Johnny Cage's own words, "stock villains" (and also jobbers)?
I disagree. That line is Shao telling Liu that he despises him so much, that he wants end his existence with 0 help. That's pure hatred.
I've left this comment already, but to just put it in one sentence;
I think Liu Kang killed Shao's father, thus earning Outworld's respect and fear; and Shao's *pure hatred* we see in game.
@@XXMatt0040XX interesting theory, and it might explain his eternal hatred for Liu Kang. But I’d like to know why Shao really hates Liu Kang all the same. The only other person I wish that I could understand their resentment towards Liu Kang is Sub-Zero.
@ninja9567 Shao cannot stand how much influence Liu Kang, an earthrealmer has in Outworld. He wants Outworld to expand and he feels Liu Kang is preventing that with his intent to keep peace. Shao is also just feels threatened and envious of anyone more powerful himself. Even in dialogue with others it is clear that he wants to rule Earthrealm.
He has a hard on for that realm like in the previous timeline. Something just cannot change, he may not be Kahn anymore but it is clear he still craves battle and conquest. Shao is just not the type to be second fiddle to anyone. Even with all his interactions with Sindel it is very clear he resents being under her.
Goku: lord Liu Kang I am ready for training
Liu Kang: beerus has told me all about you goku
I find the reveal trailer starkly contrasting with the Liu Kang we see in game. And this is just my little crackpot idea but I really think it holds some water.
Almost every little side thing is canon, between these interactions, the endings, you get it.
I think that reveal was what you could call "MK12," the 2.5th timeline if you will. I think The Hourglass really did start making Liu Kang go crazy, reset, and relinquished his power. The Geras opening it the most solid hint to me, but the other is just how *often* The Hourglasses' madness is spoken of. We *scarcely* hear about that in MK11. Even in Aftermath, that is a much more arrogant and shady Liu Kang.
I also have a feeling he's responsible for killing Shao's father, and Outworld has a bit of fear for him. An extreme show of force may have been necessary at some point, maybe sealing away Onaga. Who else could have done it? We're told Mileena's heard the stories, and we know she's 10 thousand years old from both past knowledge and Kitana telling Johnny.
Onaga, the *Titan of Death*, being sealed in Outworld would explain their slow aging too.
Dude's pretty much the first Titan we see. I will die on the hill of Deception Onaga being able to at least take out Kronika. He had Quan Chi, Shang Tsung, (both at the apex of their powers btw,) and a Raiden ready to do a Vegeta Final Explosion, *blasting* him. And Onaga just walked through it. He didn't get hurt, he got a bit annoyed and kept walking.
A guy who can raise the dead with a thought, and perfectly (the Deadly Alliance kill *everyone,* and then Onaga revives them perfectly under his control.) That's Titan of Death material if I've ever heard it. And it's *raw as hell.*
Thank you for the insight. That would be really interesting if a DLC showed Liu ended up being the bad guy all along, mirroring Dark Raiden from previous timelines. Or if they saved it for the next game, because all of this time travel stuff is getting wonky.
To be fair, Onaga had also just collected all the Kamidogu to make himself way stronger
Not a lot of hate here, though yes understandably the revelation that he was once the titan of time has caused much concern and confusion specially for those with rougher histories or who ended up being pulled in by Shang tsung and his titan counterparts manipulations.
I think it's largely those who haven't gotten the time to really sit down and talk with him about what being titan of time and the protector of earth realm meant in comparison to one another.
Who Tf did the great Kung Lao defeat in this Era for it to be a SECRET 🤐
that's actually not about who, the great kung lao's actions in the og timeline(s) was secret as well. Just because earth realm did not know of outworld in any timeline.
@@KenshiImmortalWolf not really it was told he beat Tsang Tsung before getting killed by Goro in the original Era and he probably defeated Sindel as well 🤣
@@coolazzkobe660 told to the other characters who knew about outworld. This was still not public knowledge untill after the outworld invasion in MK9 kind of forced it out
2:23 yooooo was that Megan Fox ACTUALLY voice acting????
Unfortunately yes
The nothing actually came out good!
Is it understandable that they all have misgivings about his secret being a former titan? Absolutely. Does he deserve this much hate for it? Not really.
There has to be an asterisk to Liu Kang to believe even the decisions he has made were for the better.
1. Making Baraka and his people inflicted to a disease when in prior timeline they were a race of people.
2. Letting Kitana parents die again even tho Ermac is bonded to Jerrod. Also side note how exactly did Liu made it that Sindel give birth to 2 daughters rather than just Kitana?
And 3. Is a big question to Johnny and thats not let him meet Sonya when gathering his champions. Johnny already had a perfect life with his family but now has to start all over again assuming if he'll ever meet Sonya or that she's not already married to someone else!
If that's the case, everyone would get an asterisk. For example. Raiden does really hate anyone.... Besides Rain. He *really* doesn't like Rain. lol
@@dopefury Yeah but this is a different Raiden he is much like old Liu Kang but more curious and finding his role. When he met Rain in the banquet in the story he was curious about the people around him including Rain.
And Rain in all purposes was evil but not driven by his ego claim to god hood like he did in the old timeline. He's a bit more humble in some sense and even turn himself in.
Liu Kang didn’t make or destin anyone to do anything. He made his choices to help or not help the same way every character made their choices.
Cool Video. I don't Hate Liu Kang.
Neither do I. And honestly, life in itself is many things here that Liu Kang can’t change with his power. Fair is not on that list of what life is.
Yeah. And since there is rumors that the Doomslayer might become playable in this game. I wonder what he would say to him.
@@fatalwaffle1715 I say that we see where the wind blows in that direction, but if he is DLC, then we’re in for an interesting conversation.
@@ninja9567 yeah, If Doom Link becomes playable I also wonder what his ending would be.
@@fatalwaffle1715 like many DLC characters, it will be very interesting.

What’s the name of soundtrack in the background?
Stupid me, it’s in description.
I need to do that from now on. Hopefully I learn a good video editor and I can just put the names on screen
I don't hate Liu Kang. It's just fighters is trying to know his secret about the new era. Stop hating my favorite fighter!!
Negativity @$$hole didn't choose protagonist just antagonist in MK11 aftermath ending.
Overprojecting.
Liu Kang is praised by many, these are just giving their bland opinions.
Baraka, Sub Zero, Havik, Shang and Shao, Smoke, Reptile, Kitana, Mileena, Reiko, Rain, Nitara, Li Mei and Geras's clone would all disagree with you.
@@dopefury They wouldn't disagree with me because they don't even exist lol
@@SeriousDragonify if they don't exist then you wouldn't be providing a bland opinion about em. 🤯
@@dopefury It's not opinion when it's a fact.
Liu Kang had control of time. *Time.* He is not omnipotent.
It's heavily implied Liu Kang tried to fix more, but could not. More importantly it's heavily implied that he began going mad attempting to create a perfect --oh this is the moment I realized something... It'll be at the bottom of the comment.
It's heavily implied he began going mad, the Geras pre-game dialogue is a flat out statement of "Bro you're going to lose your mind if you obsess like that." Even in Aftermath we see a Liu Kang that's much more sinister than the one we see in MK1. Liu Kang is a mortal man given Demi-God powers, and stacked with Titan power on top. He's an unnatural Titan.
Calling it now; Liu Kang killed the Great Kung Lao.
2:46 They do not need to coexist with each other, people can choose if they want to and everyone writes their own stories.
