Hydra kit is pretty great honestly it just charges agonizingly slow to the point where u cant really defend yourself if you get pushed. Just stay in the back u should be fine

Um'ami Ruins is the most lockout heavy maps in the game. If you dont take control of the map or your comp sucks, you are getting locked into your spawn cus there are very little ways of getting out. I lose on that map 99% of the time whenever its in rotation cus of my teams comp being terrible or were too slow at taking mid.
I am glad I got this recommended, This footage actually helps me realize what I've done wrong when playing splatling weapons. I've always hated them but I realize why now. I'll have to give them another chance. This reminds me of a game I had as a roller in splatoon 1 on Walleye Warehouse. I solo camped the enemy team with the Krak on Splat roller, I had 24 kills 1 death by the end of it, I don't remember the map percentage, but That map is gone for a reason. there was a choke right out of spawn that you basically couldn't escape if the enemy pushed up that far. In this case I was the one who pushed up that far.
I hate when I’m on either side of matches like this. The team getting bullied sucks for obvious reasons, being on the team with try-hard teammates feels horrible. I usually stay in the middle and just walk around… I don’t want to be apart of that
@hailey0256 can't really play anything else during splatfest plus, the name of the game is to win. It does suck when you go against someone or a team that obviously devote their time doing nothing but olay splatoon. If you're playing Profest, you are asking for these kinds of matches.

Clam blitz usually never goes all the way to the enemy spawn and also there’s usually many changes that let maps become more easy to go around like manta Maria’s paintable wall to the enemy’s high ground and brinewater’s rails. I play a lot of turf war so that also colors my experience and spawn camping is definitely more common
I got splatoon 3 a week ago and when I started playing turf wars, stuff like this happens so consistently that I almost considered just logging out every time 😅
One time, I played a game against a MUCH stronger team (in Splatoon 2) and so we just stayed on our checkpoint to make us invincible. Then I charged up Tenta Missiles...and got a triple kill.

This is why I think this is the worst map. Once you lose mid, there’s almost no coming back, and it’s easy to camp at spawn.
The same applies to Barnacle and dime

Hydras are backline weapons. And a good Hydra player is brutal.
