*Tragedy struck on August 4th 1934 at 10:32 AM when a 4-6-0 steamer and her coaches were caught in a landslide. Luckily it was the construction of the passenger cars that prevented a serious disaster, for all 90 passengers survived the disaster and the only two casualties being the driver and fireman. Local fire departments rushed to the scene to find the engine and tender buried under the soil, with only a tip of the smoke stack visible. Fire crews warned the passengers and onlookers to get back, as a boiler explosion was imminent as the engine and tender had separated and the condition of the cab was unknown. Okay, the purple smoke from the stack was the first sign they were using non-approved fuel. Second sign: that weird welding shop. What the hell are all those non RR components, (not to mention that visible rubber tire) ??? What is that mechanic smoking??? Non union ??? BTW, the least they could have done is to pull the side rods off that wretched steam engine before the diesel pushed it into the roundhouse, WTH ??? !!! Lastly, why do we G-Scalers like to bully and torment our poor, suffering, Bachman 4-6-0 engines ??? LOL !!! BTW: excellent camera angles, story line, and sense of humor! - David. DWP&P G-Scale RR. :-)
Also, if u want to see the real things you said then go to an ACTUAL train site. It would be better there, you experiencing it with your own eyes irl rather than complaining.
Except for the occasional "sapling" growing in the middle of the rail bed. The loconotives appears to be able to mow them down without problem. (Small plant here and there, usually sporting a couple leaves.)
YA FOOLOLED ME!!! From the preview pic i thought this was real. Seriously, What a mnodel set up you have. I had some of this when i was much younger & I wish my set up was 1/2 as good.
There's a note of reality to this that I quite enjoy. After the locomotive is on it's side, the water isnt actually hitting the boiler, leading to an explosion as the temperature just grows and grows.
@@someslavaboo7497 stroke is going a little far, cause as a railway enthusiast, those crashes were bloody awesome. And while the model crashes are better, the CGI ones also have some fantastic crashes that just wouldn't have been possible with models.
The landslide is particularly well done. (Pity about the model, I assume you didn't like it? ) Many years ago, following a similar, but real fatal wreck in Wales, the GWR actually created a model of the line and ran a train into the slip, to find out how the incident had occurred - did the train run into a pre existing rock fall, or did the rocks come down on the train? Prototype for everything on a model department.
At 10:15 or so, I felt like pugsley watching on as Gomez decided to blowup his train. Sadly, the engineer was "frozen" from fright, still in the window of the cab, presumably only temporarily paralyzed. My guess is the soils engineers were likely sued for lack of due dilligence in their choice of backfill in the right-of-way, as well as many other disregard of safety regulations. Hope the rebuild isn't prohibitively expensive!!
Morbid as it is; i want to see footage of an ACTUAL steam locomotive suffering death via boiler explosion. I've always been curious about it since Thomas had that incident with the fish in his boiler.
I appreciate the amount of effort that went into making this but I have to ask why the engine was carrying explosives? A 'plain' boiler explosion has no fire or secondary detonations. That must be some solid coal they are burning!
Utterly horrific! Oh, the absolute carnage and yet the unfitting music makes it all the more harrowing and tragic...! Surely people would have gotten seriously injured or maybe even killed in the crash including the locomotive's crew! A thorough investigation should be made into this...unless there were two possiblities; one being there were rival railroad firms who bribed employees into sabotage or the other being that there was in financial trouble and maybe it is most likely that the chairman would possibly have something to do with the ongoing incidents.
Luckily no one was hurt except for the engine, millions of passengers and crew who probably all died, killed and destroyed from the Boulder, rock slide and the explosion of the crash.
Those passenger cars (HSB) are from Germany - It's called "Harzer Schmalspurbahn" (Harz is a mountain region in the middle of Germany and this train is running up the mountain "Brocken") - In January 2019 it's been stuck in the snow twice...

I think what happened was that since the landslide totally blanketed the engine ( 8:08 ) , it would've suffocated the engineer or at the very least severely injured them. With the engineer unable to reduce steam ( 9:27 ) , the train exploded.
