We love the Surfrider we have stayed there 4 times it is the best. We had our Honeymoon at the hotel. Great service by the staff especially at the Beach Bar I was wondering if Harry was still working there it has been 4 year since we were there because of Covid. Coming from Australia we just love Hawaii

I love the Banyan Tree Beach Bar. I have spent many afternoons and evenings under that massive tree.
Such a great relaxed vibe
Had a drink there this past June at night. Great vibe and the bar tenders were great!
It's one of my favorites for ocean views, laidback vibe, and great live music.

This is a great way to review hotels. We recent went to Hawaii in November and this would have been a great way to review hotels independently. Coming back soon so would love to see more of these for a few different hotels.

The location is perfect & the Beach Bar is such a nice spot. The banyan tree is gorgeous!
I may be mistaken but was this the place with a rooftop bar for Mai Tais? That entry is a landmark on the strip - love their columns.
Moana Surfrider has the Beach Bar (with a huge banyan tree around it) but it's ground level.

How is the weather usually in January? Staying at Moana for two weeks in January…
Sometimes rainy but still gorgeous regardless. It's a bit chillier at night compared to summer months but still nice yearround.
We just stayed there... Got one of the Banyan rooms on the 3rd floor overlooking the portico. Damn shower flooded almost the entire bathroom. ☹️
Also, why the hell don't they have ceiling fans? 😡
oh no...yikes!! I haven't seen too many hotels with ceiling fans b/c of the a/c but I know this one is 1st hotel in Waikiki. Was it really hot though?
@@YestoHawaii Yeah it was rather warm in the room. (We live in a hot & humid part of the mainland, so me calling a room hot is not normal)
Next time we're gonna go get a cheap pedestal fan from Walmart (because I don't see ABC carrying them) and just leave it in the room when we check out.
Does the Hotel have parking garage-self park?
Yep! When I checked the hotel's website, it lists self-parking at $45/day & valet parking at $55/day.
Ouch, you picked the worst time to film their bar. Last week's weather was nasty, and at night that bar is one of the most beautiful places in waikiki.
Can’t win ‘em all. I film only sunny days…and get comments about how it’s unrealistic and need to show how it “really” is. I film cloudy days…and get comments about how the weather is actually sunny so that video isn’t real either even though it is. I decide to film a rainy day bc it does rain…and then get comments that I decided the worst time to film 😂 I work full-time & this was my only free day to set aside for filming. Can’t please everyone 🤷🏻♀️
@Yes to Hawaii oh, I didn't mean for it to sound like I was criticizing the video. Those days last week when it only got up to 73 at noon while being super windy and raining was really the first time I ever saw people wearing coats in this neighborhood during the daytime.
