    This is a very good example, thank you for making it. I studied Quadratic Equations in the late eighties, and I never saw this way of solving X; however, this method is totally inefficient. I solved this equation using the quadratic formula in only 4 steps, then I watched your video to check if I had resolved it correctly (I haven't solved anything like this in over 30 years), and I got it right, as I said, using the formula in only 4 steps.

    One of the easiest way is to solve by factorization or quadratic equation formula but I will solve this equation by factorization method.
    3x2+14x-15=0
    4x is same thing as 9x-5x
    3x2+9x-5x-15=0
    3x(x+3)-5(x+3)=0
    3x-5=0 and x+3=0
    3x=5
    X=5/3
    Or
    X+3=0
    X=-3
    X=5/3 or x=-3

    In my school these kind of problems are solved in a very different way : Split the middle x factor into two numbers such that x1 + x2 = original x and x1 * x2 = the other two and then group the numbers together
    3x^2 + 4x - 15 = 0 I can separate the 4x into + 9x - 5x (cuz 9 - 5 = 4 and 9 * -5 = 3 * -15 = -45)
    So 3x^2 + 4x - 15 = 0 => 3x^2 + 9x - 5x - 15 = 0
    => (3x^2 + 9x) - (5x + 15) = 0
    => 3x (x + 3) - 5 (x + 3) = 0 [Common factor]
    => (x + 3) (3x - 5) = 0 [Common factor]
    => x + 3 = 0 or 3x - 5 = 0 [Integral equation]
    => x = -3 or x = 5/3

    This is an ad hoc approach in which the strategy relies on the values of the coefficients - in other words it's a process of inspired guesses. If on the other hand we use a little bit of previous knowledge and remember the identity
    ( x - A )^2 = x^2 - 2*A*x + A^2
    then the " completing the square " method should be clear in its application, although it seems to me to be like taking multiple bights at a cherry..
    No doubt some students will find the ad hoc strategy helpful, and having repeated it many times are better able to apply it in the future by rote learning. I think that's a poor way of learning math though.

    take 3×15=45, the variable in the middle when we separate the product of the 2 variables that we separate must also be 45 and their sum must be equal to the original variable. For example: your hand will be 3x²+9x- 5x-15=3x(x+3)-5(x+3)
