You referred to the pattern corners being a bit wonky, but what I notice is they are a directional designed corner and a directional border pattern. When placing the corners to keep the correct orientation and direction correctly, instead of flipping them(which put them in the wrong orientation)they should have been “rotated” to keep the direction in the right orientation. Just a note in case anyone else wants to use this border pattern they will need to know to rotate a directional corner pattern and not flip the corners.
I realized after making/posting the video that I'd incorrectly flipped the corner pattern - so a Correction was added directly under the video: "Correction: The top-right and bottom-left corners and bottom border were incorrectly flipped." Also, at the time the video was made, the option to "Rotate" the corner node was not available with that version of QCT. Once it was added, I made an updated video to show and added this after the above Correction: "For updated corner placement, see the video: • QCT5 Beg/Pro - Placing Corner Block U... (QCT5 Beg/Pro - Placing Corner Block Using Rotate)"
Glad this was helpful. A newer video shows placing corner blocks (with an update since when this video was made) ruclips.net/video/0e_Httpvpr4/видео.html
At the time this video was made, you couldn't rotate the top left corner node. Here is the link to the video made since then, showing that (which makes placing corner blocks MUCH easier!) ruclips.net/video/0e_Httpvpr4/видео.html
It's just a little step stool from Walmart. It keeps me from leaning on or touching the top front rail and allows me to make more accurate placements by looking more down instead of at an angle. It has a cut out for your hand in top center, making it easy to pick up and move.
Hi, I hope you’ll see my comment and can help me. I was following along and was able to get one corner and then I had a problem with my thread, and when I went to resume, the machine was as if I hadn’t even sewn anything, and when I thought I had it fixed, all I did was so a straight line. so this morning I am trying to somehow still do a left corner and it keeps going over to the left side and just showing a straight line. Help, help I don’t know what to do to fix my problem. I mean I even started all over and yet it is still going to the left side and again just showing a straight line. Any help you can give me I would greatly appreciate, thank you, Florence.

When I go into pantograph, it will not let me put in any measure to until I select a pattern… then when I do select my pattern, it comes up with more than the one row😩. I am getting very frustrated
Is your Total Height, Pattern Height and Row Height all the same amount? Also, since this video was made, an update was added showing placing corner blocks: ruclips.net/video/0e_Httpvpr4/видео.html
If you are going to rotate the quilt on rails...then you would stitch top border, inner quilt and bottom border. If you are going to "chunk" the borders down the sides as you go, then you would stitch top border - then left "chunked" border, zone (i.e. rows allowed by Safe Area) and right "chunked" border.....and continue to bottom to stitch border.
Hi Courtney. We have a Microsoft Surface Pro tablet...Intel Core i5 processor, 4 Gb memory, 128 Gb storage. We bought it new in 2017. Spent about $800 for it at the time.
dfgeorge thanks for the information. So much to figure out. I had hoped the Facebook page would help but found it discouraging with all the problems people seem to be having. Are you still happy you bought Qct5? I’ve noticed some are saying faster better luck with laptop. Do you have an opinion? I quilt for orphans charities and can not afford to buy this if it won’t be a time saver. I expect a learning curve but so many are reporting bigger problems. Please advise. I have the q 21
It was a freebie years ago from a quilt shop that is no longer in business. If you do a search for a Zero Center Tape Measure, you will see a lot of places you can get them from. Some have sliders that are useful in marking locations.
Yes .... a few! There's actually less steps when you have the Gold Card and use that Border & Corners feature - no easier way to do them! When this video was made (so yes, I need to do an updated one!) you weren't able to rotate corners. Here's the video showing that - being able to do that cuts out a few steps: ruclips.net/video/0e_Httpvpr4/видео.html
To rotate corner block patterns with a directional design, for instance ducks floating to the right, tap on the 45 degree by the blue circling arrows until pattern has been rotated as needed. ruclips.net/video/0e_Httpvpr4/видео.html

Excellent video-thank you so much for sharing. I am new to the long arm - this was VERY helpful. I love the way you teach.

I tried your method - it worked beautifully! Thanks so much!
Yeah!! Good to know! Glad it worked well for you!

Thank you! Your videos are very helpful
Glad they are helping you!
I see you stepping up when you are checking your marks. What are you using as a step and how long is it. Love your videos. They are so helpful.

This is so helpful thanks for doing these 🙏🙏😍

Thank you, I’ll check. And thanks for the link!
Is it best to quilt the inside of the quilt before you do borders & corners or after?

I’m about to purchase qct5. What tablet did you choose?

Where did you get the ruler I see on your machine?
