Teresa, you are always such a joy to watch and catch up with. Congratulations on working your WIP count down to under 40!! 🥳 That's got to be a great feeling :) It sounds like you had an incredible time at your petite retreat, and I loved seeing some of the haul you brought home. Also, your comment about how "Imitation is a form of flattery" cracked me up - your word plays look wonderful 😍 I hope you're having a great week and your garden is lush and bug-free! Happy stitching 💜
You have the best stitchy friends!!! I love the special pattern that was made for you petite retreat. And let’s talk about the charts you were gifted ! The chickens on the tractor are sooooo adorable!!! Look forward to see you in 3 or 4 weeks . 💕🧵
I LOVE your new hairstyle!!! It looks wonderful on you! You look younger! NOT saying you looked older, but I am a Cosmetologist and used to do hair for a long time. With long hair, it pulls the eye down, you look all the way to the bottom of the hair, and that can drag a face down - but your smile! Wow!!!! It's beautiful! Seriously, though, it does drag the eye down. When we wear shoulder length or short, it makes the eye focus on the shorter hair making anyone's face look younger! Not bad, eh!!! You do look so much younger! Wow!!! That's a blessing for any of us! Lol!!! You really have it styled beautifully as well! Awesome!!! Don't worry about the number of WIPS you have. We ALL NEED several projects going at the same time for many different reasons! One reason, in particular, is the intricacy of whatever pattern we are stitching at the time and our fatigue level! That hits BIG TIME!!! I cannot work on - say my 1 over 1 mirror image butterfly pattern by JustNan, I wish I could remember the name of that one! I'd have to go get the pattern and cannot at this moment. I have another project that only needs 2 gold eyelets stitched and beads added. I've not yet finished that, either! It's SO close! The current pattern I am working on, and yes, I made 1 mistake. I am over by 1 square and already ripped that bird out 4X! I'm afraid the fabric is getting weak and it is distorted making restitching it a BEAR! I am not restitching it! It is also a mirror image for the bird to the side of it right smack dab in the center! I'll make a note on the pattern so I remember and I make an adjustment for it. I don't know what it was about that bird, but it screwed me up! Lol! It is an easier project, and we ALL NEED EASY! At times when we are so tired, we need easy, I guess I should say! Every pattern has it's challenges, so we need to be able to pick up whatever project it is that fits our abilities at the time! You do it well! I try, but I need more WIPS for myself! Since it's summer, I've been spending more time outside than inside and stitching! I want to stitch, but I also want the sun! Lol! I AM gong to make the effort to kit up MORE WIPS!!! I want and need them! Those 3 are all I have going at this time! I love a variety of things to choose to stitch as well! The patterns, I have! It's just pulling the threads and kitting them up to get ready to stitch! Oh, wait! I DO have 1 other project ready to go! It is To the Moon and Back, Remember by Birgit Tolman! She is at The Wishing Thorn. She designs! She's got a lot of beautiful patterns I adore! I chose this to make for my father! Not that he'll overly appreciate it, but the saying he definitely will! It will be special just for that, alone! We lost my Mom back in 2010, and when growing up and what has stuck with me alllllll these years is that very saying! They both used to tell each other that ALL the time! I know it will bring back both good and sadder times for my father, but overall he will love it! It will show him how "I" remember the two of them growing up to today, still! I find that really special! I need to start it! I just found and bought 3 different sizes of that white PVC pipe frames, I can't remember their name right now, but those will work perfect for that project! The thing that has been holding me back is I do not have one of those 'hug' things to wrap around the excess fabric where our hands touch. I guess if I wanted to I could either make one, or buy a steering wheel cover which would be even faster! Lol!!! I'll have to look at those next time I'm in a big box store which is all we really have here, or a car parts stores! I'll get it faster that way than ordering one online! So I have 4 that are in progress! I want MORE! I have a few Patriotic I want to stitch! I have so MANY patterns I want to stitch! I just NEED to get going! Lol! One really cool thing is my neighbor wants to learn how to cross stitch! I need to kit up her project she chose! I'm halfway done doing it, I just need to do the rest! I even bought her a hoop and a few other things I know she won't have, such as needles and a few other essential items! I found an aida cloth that is off-white and it screen printed to look hand-dyed, it's PERFECT! She wants to stitch a simple sunflower with green vines pattern! The perfect piece to start with! I am a little worried because the 2 yellows - every other petal of the flower is the opposite of 2 colors, that she'll get confused counting in that area, but I'm right next door, so she can always run over or ask me to run over to her house! I'm excited to having a potential stitching buddy, and right next door! Oh the FUN and trouble we both could get into together! Lol!!! Keep enjoying what you are doing! Congrats on finishing some of your WIPS, and enjoy the others! Yes!!!!! And don't worry about the 'number' of them! You ARE stitching them, after all, and having finishes!!! You are just that much closer to having more finishes! Lolol!!!! I LOVE your videos! Yours are ALWAYS my first pick when you post them! You are SO HAPPY! You are always smiling! Your attitude is always so cheery! You make me feel good when I watch you and your excitement for stitching is contagious! You give me the inspiration to want to stitch more! Thank YOU for all of that and sharing all you do! I love hearing about your personal things you talk about as well! I love hearing about the animals, your garden, what you've been up to, etc! You make life FUN! Keep on stitching and loving it!!!!! Till next video! I already can't wait!
Thank you so much for your upbeat manner. If I feel down I always feel better after the giggle or two that you inspire. Your mannerisms are so cute and a pleasure to watch.
I love watching your videos. You are so upbeat and positive. It sounds like you had a wonderful time with your stitchy buddies. You got some really cool stuff from everyone. When I buy fabric I take chances because I do not have any needlework shops near me. Occasionally I ask for recommendation stations from shops I order from. I have also dyed a lot of 14 count fabric. I do understand your wanting to see it in the “reals” though. Congrats on working through your WIPS. I should try and do the same. I planted all my flowers in every pot I own and set everything up on my patio. I love sitting out there stitching and seeing them. I have my portable speaker and listen to my music. I’m probably experiencing nicer weather than a lot of people in other parts of the country. Keep working on your WIPS. It will be fun to see how much you get done.
What an amazing opportunity to spend time with all of those lovely ladies. So happy for you to have been able to do that! Thanks for the stories and smiles today! ❤
Holy finishes batman!! Very impressive! I LOL'd at the image of you rocking out to Bob Segar and while cross stitching in the parking lot, too fun! 🤣 Happy for you that you got time with your people and your heart is so full!
Wow. Great job on your WIP finishes. Well done. And your Petite Retreat was so sweet. How wonderful to get together with stitcht friends. Keep up the good work.
Beautiful finishes! I loved seeing what you’ve been up to. Loved hearing about your petite retreat! How fun to have such a great group of Stitchy friends.
Love your haircut! Wow that train case is really fabulous- understandable that you’re feeling all the feels and at a loss for words! Emmy looks adorable.
Your Petite Retreat sounds wonderful. How nice to be able to get together with stitchy friends. I’m so impressed with you getting your WIP numbers down. I really need to work on that instead of adding to the pile. Keep stitching 😊
Cant remember if I mentioned it on the last video but I absolutely love your haircut! Esme was too cute chirping everytime you were talking to or about her. Great job on all your Finishes & getting your WIPS cleared off your list! Your Petite Retreat sounds like the perfect reset button for your soul & meet up with a bunch of stitchy friends .. you deserve it!! Look forward to our next visit!
Thank you so much for sharing! Way to go on your wip pile!🤗 such a cute puppy at the beginning of your flosstube. I’m assuming it’s Ellie. 🐾 puppies are hard work but worth it! Happy stitching !
Yay for decreased wips! I haven’t faced what my wip situation is here, but I probably need to do my own count and make at least a loose plan. Thanks for sharing all your retreat goodies with us. I have the exact same vintage blue case, and yours has inspired me to make a stitchy case!
I think the audiobook you are listening to is the first in a trilogy. You will need to listen to the rest. I enjoyed them. Good job on the WIPS. The puppy is so cute. When our chocolate lab was a puppy I really didn’t think I would survive.
Your finishes are beautiful! Love the little needlebook! Glad your wip pile is getting smaller😊. Your wordplays are just adorable. I've avoided that rabbit hole, but when I see how you've brightened up the colors on yours, it makes it so tempting for me to jump on the bandwagon! I'm terrible at picking out colors on my own, so that fact alone will keep me on eternal procrastination with purchasing that particular series 😂. I've been a life-long monogamous stitcher, and I'm happy driving in that lane. I get many projects finished that way. The problem is, I hate FFO-ing. I have a stack of over 80 things sitting here waiting to be FFO-ed. So my FFO problem is much like your wip problem: overwhelming 🤣. I think my issue is that I'd rather spend my time stitching than finishing (or house cleaning for that matter 🤣). Anyway...enjoy your stitching time and all of your gardening and goose adventures during this lovely time of year! And I'm sure Bob Seeger would be honored and surprised to learn how his music is getting quilts and cross stitch done🤣
You are so much fun and a great inspiration. But, girl I could never have that many WIPS. I think I have 3 going. Ughhh anxiety would be so high for me. Have a great day and may all of your crosses be perfect and enjoyable.
Sounds like an amazing time on your mini retreat. I am going to have to go to Riverview, Its about 1. hr from me. So many cute finishes! Way to go!!!! Oh my gosh, the train case!
Congratulations on your finishes! I understand the “high” you get when just one is completed, let alone several. I was so delighted that you added another video; I really enjoy your authenticity.
So happy to see you again. Please show us your newly acquired patterns. We need inspiration too! I would also love to see a picture of the train case. A side shot would be nice. Where did she buy the cases? I would love to go to a petite retreat. I stitch alone. No one around me stitches. I don’t like crowds. Too loud for my brain! How does your garden grow? Until next time, Liz, Florida Panhandle
Absolutely adored this video!! So happy you got to go on a stitchie retreat!! It soundes like so much fun. Loved all of your stitchie kindness. You deserve it. You are a breath of fresh air and lift my mood so very much. Congrats on your finishes! Where did you get the time!!!!!
Sometimes the hardest part of being a friend is letting others be a friend. Your retreat story is a fabulous example of giving from the heart. I like your choice of get-it-done music! My music for tough times is Lee Roy Parnell's record On The Road. haha Great stitching and giggles. When I saw the picture of Elly, I thought to myself - "wow - even with a puppy Teresa has time to make a flosstube!"
Great video. Congratulations on knocking out some of those whips 👏👏👏👏. Can I twist your arm to join me in making a quilt? (pm me if interested - end up with an extra pattern and would love to find someone to join me)
Sounds like you have an amazing group of stitchy friends! I would like to be more monogamous in my stitching to get more done. But I get bored and variety is the spice of life! 😊

Monogamous is always good.
🐴🐴🐴
Your stitching is absolutely beautiful! So vibrant ♥️ Do you use two threads over one on Aida?
Most always I use 2 threads. Some of the tighter 18 count aida I use 1 thread though, it's just too tight.
Great video. Congratulations on knocking out some of those whips 👏👏👏👏. Can I twist your arm to join me in making a quilt? (pm me if interested - end up with an extra pattern and would love to find someone to join me)
I cannot find you on Instagram🤔
Oh! My handle is teresamcmath01
