What an amazing horse! If you've never experienced these racking/single footing horses, please find a way to get on one and see what it's like. They are like rockets. They are basically racing type horses and don't even get in their way! The gait is very smooth but you must hold the horse in check or balance somewhat or they will go out of gait and just start galloping out of control. They really do love what they do. Please go try one out and you'll see. They do sweat, and there's a good chance it's very humid where this horse is. The rider totally understands this horse and is trying to keep the horse maintaing his gait while allowing him to go as fast as he wants without breaking into a gallop.

If its an off the track standardbred trained to trot or pace you will most likely have to train him all over to canter or gallop ( like if you want to jump him.) The standardbreds sulky race in a trot or pace at a very high speed, so under saddle they will do the same unless actually retrained to canter or gallop.
If its a gaited horse like a Missouri Fox Trotter he will naturally break into a gallop at a particular point

Just don’t overwork him. He’s only flesh and blood.

I have seen hundreds of gaited horses ridden properly in real life and you tube. Its bad advertisement and non horse folks will think it banging because its a rockin song and the horse is flying and the rider can sit still on the horse because anyone can sit still on a gaited horse. 🤣🤣🤣

You really lathered that horse up. For the horses sake I hope you know what you are doing, and value these animals above your ego. Sadly, judging from your spurs, the severe bits you use, and the fear in these horse eyes, this is not the case. There are many ways to train horses, maybe you should back off the old school brutality and learn some new school training techniques. They are more humane and just as effective.

Not sure how long of a ride you did with Mr. Drummer on the road, but I didn't like the offal bit you were using, and somebody noticed you had spurs. The horse didn't look happy at all during the video. So... Maybe change the scare tactics, to some sweet tactics. Some more love, and more sympathy to the horse since he's the one pulling all the extra weight on his backside. But at least he was 4 at the time you rode him, since horses need a lot of time to grow up and have their bones set.

I hear you and I'm with you 100%....I've recently begun seeing these videos and for the life of me I don't understand this phenomenon!! What is this NEW equine discipline I never heard of before?? I definitely think the bit on this video is too much and I don't like that he's using spurs; I agree that the horse doesn't look happy...and either it's too hot where they are or he's on the verge of being over-ridden....all that salt shows the work out should have been over and close to it. These people don't seem to be true horsemen/women. In addition, how about some protection on the hands/legs and the hoofs??!! I'm not sure who the animal is here.....Some may jump on me for saying so but I'm speaking from the heart; these seems inhumane to me...I've seen videos where some of these folk "trot" these horses through asfalt (sp??) next to grass....It all seems really unsafe.

    • @dreampainter2011

Ann Bertoli... the horse isn't rubbed raw, and that's not a harness around his neck, it is a very loose fitting breast collar, to keep the saddle from slipping back. The horse is sweating, which is a naturally healthy thing for a horse to do. I think you need to learn more about horses and tack, before commenting.

Excellent Gaited Horse doing his thing .. A snaffle bit is harsher than that bit. Is he using them spurs .. Nope. The lather is the soap on the reins. And a rack/pace is much easier on the legs than other movements asked. If you saw him at a racetrack you'd be betting on him not judging. But this stallion will last years longer than his equal on the track.
