i just updated to ver 1.5 Thanks Alesis..... I love this kit. I'm a guitarist and bassist who has always dreamed of being a drummer.....i'm finally getting there.
I don’t get the hate. People are always comparing the strike to Roland kits that cost $1000-3000 more than this. Do you do that with any other instrument?? Of course not. Compared to any other electric drum at this price point, the strike is the clear choice.
demonocus metalocus yeah but it’s not apples to apples imo because the pads are so much smaller. To get a full size Roland kit it’s gonna cost an arm and a leg
rolands build quality is also much better and will last you for years possibly even decades meanwhile alesis stuff is built like crap and won't last long at all in fact people who bought the strike were getting broken kits sent to them and having them fall apart etc. Having bigger pads don't mean much if they break in a month.
I chose the ATV EXS-5 over the Strike just because of the sound quality. There were only 5 kits on the xD-3 at the beginning but now there are 18 kits (13 free kits for download) which all sound great and way better than the Strike kits. Also the triggers are more reliable, no hotspotting and overall just great quality with almost real sizes (13" snare, 2x10" high tom and 13" floor tom with 14" hi hat, 2x 14" crash and 16" ride) so you have the big sizes of an acoustic drum as it is on the Strike but with better sounds and quality. BUT the Strike looks better and has more sounds but I tested the Strike and only liked like 10 kits anyway so now I have more kits on the xD-3 which all sound amazing.
Sounds like the kick is double triggering sometimes. Maybe the beater is bouncing back and hitting the head? Hi-hat opening and closing does not sound very clean at the end.
the day Alesis decide to make their hardware more reliable as Roland , that day I will sell my TD25 and get me this kit. Looks great , but there are many reports of piezos falling apart and cymabal misstriggering from time to time...that's scary. In the other hand : it beats Roland in sound quality and as I said , the look...it is just fenomenal.
The recording does not do justice to the sounds in the update. Fiddled with this recently at a buddies house and the kit keeps getting better with every update. Not ready to trade in my Roland yet but I expect with the next round of hardware (faster processing ,etct) Alesis is going to start to giving Roland some serious competition.
Anyone using edrums in a pro setting should have the money to just get a Roland kit. Most people use drum programs over the preloaded sounds, so quality is the biggest factor.
My hi-hats are still garbage and I bought the kit with the update. About a week ago. They work fine if I play on the Alesis logo which is the opposite way of how they're supposed to be. But on the designated playing side the triggers are fucked. They only pick up quarter notes . any time you trying to do 8th or 16th notes the trigger gets confused and goes back and forth between a open and closed sound while missing multiple hits Straight out of the box. V1.4. And yes I've adjusted sensitivity and everything else. b it works fine on the logo side. I should probably send it in giving that it's not working the way it's supposed to. I really don't want to go a month or whatever without a hi-hat . especially if I end up getting a replacement and does the same damn thing or works even less. Not trying to hate l. I love the kit. It sounds and feels great . But those high hats
Do I have to use the software to be able to play? I downloaded the module only and I’m not getting any sounds. Barely getting any trigger response on the kick. Please help
you should demonstration how the snare plates crack ,foam towers fall over all the time ,bass drum tower fell over after a week of owning this kit ,toms fall over on the mounts, don't over tighten the cheap pot metal stands they strip out very easy ,rack folds in on its self, modules lose volume, makes false triggers when your not even playing ,hisses, don't touch the screen contrast the unit does all sorts of strange things ??? lost head phone sound, takes forever to load kits ,effects take even longer, power supply gives out .good luck with the Hi hat could write a book on that ..they are pretty good with the warranty but they just give you more of the same crap parts so it will break again..I'm sure I missed a few things has not been a great experience, could have been a great kit but sourced it all out with cheap parts..module needs way more RAM ..not for the PRO drummer,Yes I bought one ..Oh the sounds a really good
I been using this live for 18 mths yes sometimes I have to open the top head and replace the foam towers but thats it. I switched to live cymbals with the ekit live cause the hi hat sux and the rubber cymbals dont do w hat real ones do. and yes The pot metal booms strip real quick. I just use gibralter shorts booms in the post problem solved
woah ✋.... that was a pretty wild rant. the price reflects the difference in components used in the product that's why price difference between Alesis and Roland is so significant. the same as the difference between a tame and dw or a Berhinger and pioneer mixer maybe don't set out to save 1/2 - 3/4 of the cost and then start crying when you realise you're a lambrini girl the quality of this kit is great in regards to what it cost
I know it’s preference. But I don’t know how people say this kit sounds good. It sounds like complete trash to me. All these reliability issues also made me change my mind to get a Roland TD17KVX. I’ll wait till Alesis get stronger!

I pretty much love this kit, no matter how the drums sound for others, they sound good enough for me. Getting it soon.
great video. dont listen to the haters. great kit and i love the update.
It's a piece of crap yamaha dtx6 is better than alesis

Not true the roland td 17 is cheaper than the strike and i would get that over the aleshit anyday.

@@demonocusmetalocus3558 the td17 only has 2 outputs which is a nono for live playing
Fantastic! Thanks for this!
I have Roland and they are great, but if you can't afford Roland, Alesis are pretty darn good for the money

it is the Brain what is important, and on that, the Alesis is superior
The new kits definitely sound better than what this video would have you believe...

Have a cup of tea👍🏿
"nice"
"yea exactly"
Perhaps this is a stupid question, but the sounds come from the bodys or come from a speaker?
A speaker, but its main purpose is for you to put on a headset and listen to the drums without anyone else hearing them.
A dream

Yamaha is good too tho
"Should have the money" lol, have you taken a look at the music industry lately? Not every musician can drop 4 to 8k on a kit.
hi hat does not work correctly still and snare drums break in the center
That's unfortunate too cuz that's such a great kit for such a great price
Works fine for me, no issues

I’m on my 2nd ride.
Something is wrong w this one too
why don't these kits come with a Hi hat stand?
No high end kits do. every one has there preferences.
Can I see some electronic kits from Mapex,if you can do this.
Do I have to use the software to be able to play? I downloaded the module only and I’m not getting any sounds. Barely getting any trigger response on the kick. Please help

@@zim1966 These issues sound so familiar to my experience with the DM10.
Think i might stay with my opinion on not getting another Alesis just yet.

the quality of this kit is great in regards to what it cost
The hihat sucks tho I heard
Great after the firmware update and the spring adjustment
Why sounds too dry
this is affordable but Roland sound better
For Roland to sound better (not in all cases) you have to pay double and more.
Th
Toms sound like they’re from 1799
Sounds like a toy
I know it’s preference. But I don’t know how people say this kit sounds good. It sounds like complete trash to me. All these reliability issues also made me change my mind to get a Roland TD17KVX. I’ll wait till Alesis get stronger!
If they have problems with this kit, Alesis should work hard to fix them.
Don't waist yr money
Don't buy
Don't buy
Why ? Please tell me I would appreciate it
Thanks I bought it, thanks again.
