- Throughout history, Vikings waged war from the seas, notoriously ruthless and with their own set of rules. However, their story has always been told from a one-side. This June can we uncover the truth about who they really were on Vikings The Rise and Fall.
I can never get enough of the Viking culture, history and lore. It’s so intriguing
National Geographic literally hast to be the worst when it comes to availability. I *want* to give you money to watch this show but I'm straight up not able to. Not even via VPn.
Why do they always say that women fought in the battles as well?! The prove they have is that they once found a female buried with a shield and sword... And stories about shieldmaidens in the sagas.
In fact, it is the Russians from the XVI - XVI centuries. Not earlier.
Women actively took part in battle. In a handful of archeological finds and some exaggerated Sagas. Not being misogynist. Think about it. You and your husband have a farm. Your husband goes away to raid to make extra money for your farm. Woman stays home and is the master of the house. Husband dies. Woman inherits the farm and riches. If you both went. Who runs the farm? If you both died then what? It just makes sense.
Lol, no, this is incredibly historically inaccurate
Waaay better than everything we've got so far
this looks good, will be good to see after watching that terrible viking film "the northman"
@@galinrabadzhyiski5269 cool
@@galinrabadzhyiski5269 glad you enjoyed it
Yup, was horrible
@@jessa9877 Ever seen The 13th Warrior?
Got a brohalla over here
You lost me when you said women took active part in battle and showed a woman iron clad. Didn't happen. Shield maidens had a purpose. Do your research cringe Vikings.
