You can always expect that when TheXPGamers sets up a Star Wars battle, the Republic will win. He'll make SURE of it. He SAYS "VENATOR vs PROVIDENCE" but what he means is "Small Providence with a few guns vs Venator, Acclimator,
Arquitens, and 5 fighters."
Add a ton of vulture droid drones and it'd be even better!

Is it just me or Shack preformed a Picard manouver in Star Wars.
not quite the Picard maneuver as warp wasn't instantaneous making the vessel appear to be in two places at once.

Why does the republic get a support fleet? It would of been fair if your team had another providence and the Republic gets one less ship.

Ah how beautiful space engineers has become, and now all that’s truly left is to make it so that you can fully crew a small squad of large ships and have a massive battle, if space engineers reaches that point I’ll never play another game xD
You should do a battle with a boarding party of two who jump onto the enemy ship as you pass by at point blank range and they jump onto the ship to plant bombs or sabotage the engines / guns somehow. That would be awesome :)
That was some of the most fun I've had on Space Engineers. I loved flying the Venetor in the earlier ones we did, and this battle was epic

It was at this moment you knew... you phucked up.
I wish there could be more people in space engineers servers. It'd be great to have a 2000 person server, where there were literally hundreds of people manning ships in combat with a scale so massive it's hard to comprehend. Imagine being in a 1 man fighter, weaving inbetween ships manned by crew of 50, only to go through a rather intense firefight in space, only to happen upon a massive capital ship roughly 5x the size of the other ships. Imagine watching that ship be rammed by a smaller ship on your side, forcing it down into the planet below's atmosphere. Imagine watching escape pods and drop ships coming out of this ship as it falls, some being caught under the ship and destroyed, others making it away, being captured, shot down, or simply crashing due to damage they made during the escape. Imagine being turned away from the spectacle, due to the fact your ship has been damaged, and you are falling. Imagine struggling to control your ship, and surviving the crash. Imagine trekking towards the ruined capital ship, now sitting dark and still. Imagine being captured and killed by survivors of the crash, only to respawn in a ship in orbit, and doing it all over again.
THAT is what space engineers combat should feel like.
Not these tiny ass skirmishes involving 2-3 ships and a few fighters.
It's just not enough.

The only problem I had when you said the bridge was gone, but it was the observation deck, the bridge is close to the bow and on top of the Providence

This was the coolest thing I have ever seen done on SE, Iv tried so hard to enjoy the game but its just so much grinding with no reward. If I could get into severs like this I would play more.

That sweet ass mid battle jump, is halo as fuck lol. I applaud that excellent use of jump drives to gain strategic advantage
Turrets kept targeting the fighters over the larger ships. Wish you had an escort frigate or something, or at least more fighters. Was still really cool anyway, and pretty amazing that the engine has come so far to be able to handle it.

About 5 minutes in demonstrates the main problem with the bridges on star wars ships. "WHERE'S THE BRIDGE?!? THE BRIDGE IS GONE!!"
I could think of 4 ways to make that ship better 1. Make a gravity drive 2. Make gravity weapons 3. The gravity weapons should have the ability to make small saw blades when it hits to chop up the enemy 4. Have drones to help you
What great timing since... well you know. A fan favorite show is making a return for one last time.

Holy shit what is this your able to control a venetor star destroyer?! With full details and your able to actually repair and contorl everything in the ship?!? Crazy
The bridge/command center is in the front of the providence, like most other CIS ships, we see this iin an episode of CW where the invisible ship takes out a command center in the front of the ship.
I made this comment in the early part of the video where shack said the bridge is gone, it was chopped off, it was the top one.
This will probably get buried under all the other comments, but just imagine for a second: It's the Clone Wars era, and a new Padawan has completed their training and been assigned to a master. As the camera pans around their room and their communicator rings, you get a glimpse of their face. They jolt up to answer the call, and you realize something. The new Padawan is you, or at the very least a character you created not even two minutes prior, and you are going to meet your new master to fight the Separatists and learn more about the Force. But where will your path take you? Will you stay the course and become a true Jedi? Or will you seek power and fall to the Dark Side?

Excellent video! There are however two main mod improvements I see that need to be made from a non-Space Engineers perspective. The ability to program weapons to target unified objects of particular sizes. So light guns attack fighter sized objects, turbo lasers target warships. As I see it, so many of these fights are one-sided because one team will accurately fire at center of mass, and the other will shoot off at one particularly damned chunk of floating metal.
Second, firing speed. Lowering the firing speed of weapons but upping the damage by an equal amount would help with server load. Instead of the server needed to constantly track all the many bolts, and what they're hitting, it only needs to track a few, and when they hit, the server has time between impacts to calculate damage and physics.
EVE online solved this problem during big fleet fights some time ago by cheating the system. Insteadof individuals fighters, fighters instead were put into "wings" which calculate cumulative damage as a group, and when the "wing's" health was hurt sufficiently, the wing would "lose" a fighter, cutting its damage by a percentage based on how big the wing was (I think it's five. I'm not a carrier pilot yet.) Little shortcuts like that thinking outside the box could really help this game. Then again I'm not sure whats possible within the game's engine.

You know in a real battle the providence trounces the venator with no fighters allowed it has more weapons and the 8 powerfull turbo lasers can be destroyed with the providences proton torpedo launchers quicking tacking out the main fire power of the venator

Jedi Wolf No, it is not. It was designed by the quarran, a different race from the same planet.
Joaco 21O Those 8 guns, despite their power, will not carry the day. In the clone wars series, 3 venators were ordered to retreat when confronted by 6 muificents, which are basically glass cannons. A providence is probably better than 2 munificents.
Joaco 21O All of what you've said is true (though, it should be noted only the duel heavy tubolasers are stated to have a 10 light-minute range; and this probably the least powerful setting)(edit: actually, I can't find anything that says the venator has better shielding). However, while the venator has better fighters, the battle was explicitly stated to be between capital ships without their fighters. Head to head, without fighters, it would be even, according to Wookieepedia(or the providence might win outright; the article just says a providence could take on venators, so it can be interpreted either way).
The Providence probably is superior, though it is debatable like when the Invisible hand was defeated in a broadside, even with flak guns in the hangars. That said, there was also an arquitens about twice its regular size and an acclomator too. Besides, the Venator is a fleet carried and it *did* have its air wing, or sort of anyway.

I recommend using Guages No Scrap mod to help alleviate some of the destruction lag. Prevents scrap from spawning when blocks pop.

You should have built General Grevious' CIS Bomber ship to escape in
Usualy the Venator would have launched other fighters like the V-19-Torrent Starfighter, the Aggressive-ReConnaissance-170-Starfighter or the BTL-B-Y Starfighter while those launched in the video were used by Jedis or Jedi generals.
Also the Republic never used red lasers, due to the blue ones beeing more effective agains droids because those where mixed with ions.
The fighters would be launched at the start of the battle but as soon as the bigger ships engaged in fighting so the enemys dont focus on those easier to take out first.

Put "Anakins Betrayl"/ Order 66's theme over the destruction and I could imagine this being the end of a Jedi Generals ship.
It looks very promising. I just hope keen continues to make adjustments to the MP but this is a lot better. MP has come such a long wayyyyyyy I bet if you guys turned off a few of those turrets on the Last ship that last battle would have ran smoother. Great video!!

Has no one created Vulture "Droids" for this game? Well, once I get some practice building ships, I think I'll add that to my list! Then you can add that to the Separatist fleet (unless someone beats me to it, lol)
