Fun fact :
Robert Kubica is the first pole to get a pole and a race win in F1.
If he hasn't that rally crash with his arm, he could be a champion in a fast car. In 2006-2009 everyone was like, oh this is Kubica, it will be hard to overtake him. Such an underrated driver, he was better than many would think.
@@BalintM7898 2009 car was pretty bad, 2010 renault was quite good since he scored some podiums in it.
He is the only Pole to start but he had and has big talent
@@BalintM7898 Rob told in the Beyond the Grid podcast that he had ensured the seat in Ferrari in 2012 along with Alonso.
I remember all the pole on pole headlines back in the day
Would love to have Danny ric added to the Australians
He is a really good driver and I hope mclaren does well in the new regs
Hopefully with the merc power unit Mclaren can compete at the top with Danny leading the charge
Lando tho. He fought well with Carlos in Austria, and keeps improving. That boi might get in the way
And hopefully Vettel can make it 13 or even 14 world titles for Germany rather than just 12
Piatri (I think i misspelt that) is a promising Aussie in f3 currently leading
Tyler White
It’s Piastri if you want to know
And he’s from my city
Fact: 55% of all Finnish drivers in Formula One have won at least one race:
Keke Rosberg
Mika Hakkinen
Kimi Raikkonen
Heikki Kovalainen
Valtteri Bottas
@@TommoMcCluskey Mika Salo would also be on that list if Ferrari team orders didn't come into play. It was when Shumacher had broken his leg in 1999, they drafted Salo in to fill the seat.
@@deathbower he would have won in italy but the car broke
what about nico
@@stevenhumeniuk137 Nico Rosberg? He counts as German
@@stevenhumeniuk137 he is from monaco
Let’s deep Hamilton’s won nearly half of England’s titles. That is scary.
Alex Calkosz a bit different tho because there’s only been two champions from the country (not taking anything away from schumi coz I love him). But when you think how many English champs there have been and one many has claimed almost half it’s quite astronomical.
@@matthewosei4188 three german champions: schumi vettel and rossberg
Tbf the UK is the country, and if you add in Clark and Stewart it's less weighted to Lewis
@@adamdickinson2894 UK is a group of countries made up of England, Wales and Scotland the official name is United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland
@@lejuaneoswald Still the United Kingdom also also one umbrella nation. We have the same currency, government, school system, medical system. There are no borders.
They are separate nations but also one nation.
We compete together in the Olympics and have the same armed forces.
You say over 150 Americans have races, and whilst that's technically true, most were just in the Indy 500 as one offs when it was in the f 1 calendar
Tommo F1 IndyCar is similar pace to an F2 car, so I feel plenty of drivers in the modern era are ready for F1, but teams don’t focus on American drivers.
Indy car drivers think they are the best drivers in the world though so surely that shouldn’t be an excuse
It would be interesting to know the number of Americans to compete in at least one F1 race outside the US to weed out all those Indy 500 only drivers. Also, what effect NASCAR, and to a lesser extent IndyCar, have had on the quantity and quality of Americans entering the F1 pipeline.
@@evilgiraffe12 I just posted this in my own comment. I think the answer is 56 out of 233 US F1 drivers actually drove in an event other than the Indy 500
@@arishakala Because they get there too late. They won't bring a brand new driver to the sport who is 26.
Does that 158 US drivers include when the Indy 500 was a championship event?
Presumably.
I was confused as well but that probably is the case.
Wikipedia make it 233 US F1 drivers of which only 56 drove in an event other than Indy 500
Germany should have more tbh, they had two incredible drivers who both sadly died before winning the title.
Wolfgang Von Trips and Stefan Bellof, both of them could have won at least one title each, Bellof probably could have won even more.
There should be one race a year of ten teams with each team being a region (UK, Central America, East Asia etc) think that would be cool

Scotland: ?
Argentina: ?
France: Likely, Esteban Ocon, Pierre Gasly. Possibly, Theo Pourchaire. Maybe, (no) Grosjean. Hardly, Dorian Boccolacci. Unsure, Guilliano Alesi (I think he is more talented than Mick but stats go in Micks favour so idk)
Finland: Likely, Valtteri Bottas. Hardly, Niko Kari.
Austria: Hardly, Lucas Dunner
Australia: Likely Daniel Ricciardo. Possibly, Oscar Piastri. Hardly, Calan Williams. Unsure Jack Doohan, Alex Peroni.

USA: Unsure, Juan Manuel Correa, Logan Sargeant.
New Zealand: Possibly, Nick Cassidy, Marcus Armstrong, Liam Lawson. Hardly, Hartley.
South Africa: ?
Canada: Likely, Stroll. Maybe Latifi.
Likely means i think they have the talent, + Good chance of making it to or are already in.
Possibly means i think they may have the talent but not so good chance of making to F1 yet anyway (maybe have a way but have an issue).
Maybe means I don't think they have the talent for championship but may have a way to F1, (name, enough talent just not for championship, money, connected with team etc).
Hardly means I don't they have the talent nor chance making F1.
Unsure, I haven't seen enough or just don't know where I put them
And Countries that I think may join this list soon enough.
Netherlands,
Monaco,
Thailand,
Russia,
Denmark,
China,
Japan.
I spent 20 minutes at this bit I'm late so fuck all people shall see it, but honestly I've just grown to learn I enjoy making lists😀

1. It's not sustainable with the current economy. Tickets would be very expensive for the average Turkish Joe.
2. the cars are expensive and with the taxes you basically buy a car for yourself and then buy the same car for the government (if you get a 30k car you pay 35k taxes, so the total cost comes to 65k)
Constantinople Park..........
A fact: Jochen Rindts wife was finnish, which makes her the first finnish person to get a world champions trophy
Hamilton and Schumacher winning half of their countries titles is absolutely insane, but, Juan Manuel Fangio winning all of them for his country is crazier
Felipe Massa could have won a 9th title for Brazil if it wasn’t for “is that GLOCK?”☹️
Daniel Davidson no
I though Lauda was a German
yeah, but Glock was going on an alternative strategy, before the pit stops when it started raining he was behind hamilton but he tried to go dries in the wet keeping him ahead until the final lap whilst struggling to keep the car on the road, so he was actually the thing keeping massa in the title fight by not pitting in the rain like everyone else....
Daniel Davidson hell no. was he good because he was in a ferrari? maybe. but he was talented as hell. he definitely deserved that 2008 championship
G16 Antonio Raul Peñaranda he did not deserve that championship
I think you forgot Pastor Maldonado he has 15 championships.
He was talking about F1 and not demolition derby
This man just single handedly named every f1 champion ever

Good one! I like flags. And lists.
The vast majority of the 158 American "F1 drivers" just competed in the Indy 500, which was included in the World Championship in the 50s. Only 19 Americans have competed in more than 10 races.
Fun Fact: In the last 22 years (Since 1998) only drivers from four countries have won the driver's title (Germany: 10, UK: 7, Finland 3, Spain 2).
Scotland have only had 4 drivers in F1... impressive

There's is another one that is a Test Driver, if I remember correctly he doesn't want to become a race driver yet, just testing

Great video and I liked your honorable mentions!
Thank you for mentioning Zsolt Baumgartner from my country. The commentators and the whole country went absolutely madness when he scored that one point in Indianapolis :D
Im not joking, is search for this kind of video earlier... and didn't found anything! Glad that you uploades this
I’ve always wondered and been intrigued by how many Scottish drivers have made it into F1 and been successful in Motorsport. With like Franchitti in Indy, McNish, McRae and more
Jim Clark and Jackie Stewart? Pogz
Italians have definitely underperformed when it comes to Drivers' titles. However, Mario Andretti was born in Italy so you could say that had one more (sort of...)
Also, from one flag fan to another, South Africa were using their previous flag (the racist one) when Scheckter won his title.
Also, Nico Rosberg could have chosen to represent Finland which would have given them an extra winner but went with his mum's nation Germany, I believe.
Fun Fact: Jacques Villeneuve was the last driver that isn't from Spain, Germany, Finland or the UK to win a championship.
Wow, that’s one of the best stats I’ve heard

Love the F1 House channel, been subbed since 34 subs Tommo! Thanks for showing my man Sakki (I always forget how to spell it) the love 💙
No one mentions Prost won all 4 titles for his country and the only french man till today.
Hey Tommo. Big shout out for Charles. First ever Monegasque F1 driver to compete. Not bad for the young bloke. 👍🏼 Nige n Debs Down Under

The UK dominates even more if you look at constructors titles.
Since 1970 British teams have won 25 constructors titles. That's half of all available titles. Dominance.
Yesss! Another Vexillology AND Formula 1 lover! Massively appreciate your content!
The Finnish strike rate is just incredible. 33% world championship rate, 43% if you only include drivers that raced full seasons. Every Finnish driver that has raced at least a full season has achieved at least a Podium. That's just incredible.
Leo Kinnunen - 6 races, only qualified once, DNF (Engine Failure)
Mikko Kozarowitzky - 2 races DNQ
Keke Rosberg - World Champion
JJ Lehto - Podium
Mika Hakkinen - 2 Championships
Mika Salo - podium (Would have been a win, but forced into 2nd place by team orders)
Kimi Raikonnen - World Champion
Heikki Kovalainen - Race Winner
Valtteri Bottas - Race Winner
Honourable mention:
Nico Rosberg - World Champion (Son of a Finn, chose to race under German flag)
Man, I'm disappointed that Maldonado was not mentioned there breh
This is eerie :D I was thinking about this just yesterday 😳

Crazy to think there hasn’t been an Italian world championship since the 50s. You’d think that a massive talent would have risen, especially when there are areas where everyone karts and it’s life.

Found out my mum used to be friends with Jody Scheckter's sister, she taught my mum pottery haha. I'm South African born, British raised. Apparently he was a crazy thrill seeker from childhood and was beginning to settle down at that point 😂
The reason why there are so many US F1 drivers is that in the past the Indy 500 was part of the F1 championship (1950-1960). So many US drivers count as F1 drivers but never did any other event. Of the 233 US F1 drivers only 56 did an event other than the Indy 500.
The fins are mental at rally as well, I reckon the fins have won more trophies in motorsports in general than any other country.
Brabham won a title in his own car and he'll be the only one to ever do so...
Lance Stroll: hold my sack of money
Great video
Of those 158 Americans who have raced in f1, a large majority of them never competed in the championship outside of the Indy 500 (the Indy 500 was co spidered a part of the world championship in the 50’s).
I loved flags as a kid. Used to do flag quizzes all the time and knew almost all of them, except those damn Pacific islands that all have British flags on their own flag
Jochen Rindt was actually german-born but his parents died and he grew up with his grandparents in austria and therefore drove for austria
Good video,keep it up Tommo.
You need to do this for tracks/countries. Who's had the most races over the years.. and counties/tracks that have had 1 race total.
Lewis be carrying England 💪
I wouldn't be so sure. Mike Hawthorn, Stirling Moss, Jackie Stewart, Graham Hill, Jim Clark, John Surtees, Peter Collins, James Hunt, John Watson, Nigel Mansell, Damon Hill, David Coulthard, Jenson Button, the list goes on and on. Sure Lewis may be the best, but the UK has always had superstars.

F1 2020: *chuckles quietly*
please explain?
salamipitza he’s referring to the game
It’s also pretty incredible that out of the 9 Finnish drivers 5 of them are race winners.
It’s pretty amazing that Germany has won half of the last 20 WDC
The U.K. has won the WDC with 10 different drivers the next nearest are Brazil, Germany and Finland with 3
19 of the 33 WDC winning drivers are still alive.
Kimi Raikkonen at 28 years and 4 days is still the 8th youngest WDC
On average a new driver wins a WDC every 2 years (obviously not the case recently)
also schumi is the youngest 7x (35 years 295 days) and vettel is the youngest 4x wdc (23 years 144 days)
hamilton will be 35 yers 299 days with the current race calender when he officially won his 7th title
You missed out a Welshman
Victor E sorry I meant to say that Tom Pryce is the only Welshman with a pole position
A lot of the American drivers competed in only the Indy 500 which was a part of the calendar in the 50s even though none of the European drivers competed.
Place number 8 will get a new country flag added tomorrow hopefully.
I’d like to see how America would rank on the how many individual drivers to compete if the criteria was 2 seasons or even just the majority of races in a single season. Because the stat is skewed by the fact that the Indy 500 was part of the f1 Calendar for a while
Pretty sure that 158 number is misleading for the USA, considering the Indy 500 was considered part of the F1 season for 10-11 years.
Best F1 content on RUclips! Keep it up man!
Gotta say I don’t think it would happen but F1 in the Olympics??? Why not be epic!

New Gulf Oil and McLaren partnership,
Could be a decent livery...
Much as I love some oft he cars that wore the Gulf Livery, I;m not a huge fan of the colours, BUT it would suit Mclaren very well, and if they made the Blue more like the blue they had when the Mclaren F1 Raced I think it would look great.
Btw, can we have a video about who will be the first female F1 driver?
In my opinion of course Jaime Chadwick, but I hope Sofia Flörsch will be there in the future.
I really enjoyed the HITC Sevens style video you did a while ago, it'd be cool if you did another one of them.
all this world champions, some of legend because of his driving styles, some because more of than driving with a better and faster cars
Being from a large country like India, it's sad to see only 2 drivers from here. It shows how unfamiliar the sport is here.
I thought it was continents at first. Was going to root for Antarctica!
the true Master, Fangio. no one else like him.
I remember how many f1 fans were happy from my country about Zsolt Baumgartner, scored his first and only point in that Minardi in 2004 Indianapolis grand prix,(half of the grid fell out of the race) Giancarlo Fisichella was on 8. place and behind him was Baumgartner on 9. and suddenly Fisichella had an issue with his car and the hungarian commentators were so happy. 😂
Jeez you’ve been growing pretty fast
Would love to see you get 100k soon
Always quality stuff from my boy tommo, but it would be interesting to make another vid using wins instead of titles. although the english would still be on top its fun to see how the rest of the list differs.

Isn't it a rule that the Scots are Scots until they win at which point they become british?

Top 10 A1 GP livery video ? 🤔🤔🤔
The us having so many f1 drivers is because they used to count the indy 500 as a championship round and all those Americans technically have started a grand prix
While the stat that the USA have 150 drivers is correct, that's really only because the indy 500 was a championship event back in the day. That's why a lot of drivers in that 150 have only driven 1 race.
I just knew before you said it that you would try put an accent on when you said Scotland 😂 It's just tradition at this point lol
