Boy Noah Lyles got people's panties in a bunch. This is why Bolt called him good for the sport.
People hate him already because he is an American: cause you know they all cheat and are dirty. If it's close it's never the American winning (people are still saying Gail Devers lost and cheated in 1992).
If Noah Lyles had not been as flamboyant and braggadocious as he is, no one would care about athletics.
They asked if Tehbogo would want to be the face of Track & Field, and he answered he was not arrogant and narcissistic. He couldn't be. He doesn't have the swagger to be liked and hated at the same time.
His words set up the rivalry between the two. Noah is setting it up because when wins again, he is going to say all that people said about him after the Olympics.
Those who hate Lyles will continue to do so, and that includes Thompson and Banerick: Thompson’s loss in the 100-meters begins that rivalry.
The world wants to see these rivalries in the sprints. They discourage them in the middle and long distances. Instead of being mad, ask yourself why….
