What if, when making a secret base, its secret?
Like, no obvious hints, no pointers, no tips...
Make a snowbase, where you have to dig snowballs, and hit a packed snowblock that opens a hatch under the snow?
Secret base idea, make the base very obvious, but put lava pools everywhere around it, so knarfy can't help but look in every one.
Edit, add signs everywhere that say that the base isnt in lava.
Don't forget signs that say there are no secret bases in the lava, that should do it.

Secret base idea:
Make an underground bunker with a armor stand with a sculk sensor so if you put the armor on it hears it and opens a secret door in a lava pit near by but there are many lava pools

Add a tunnel that’s obviously covered by a painting, and in the tunnel is a maze , the maze is a decoy and at the end drop him in a death trap
plot twist there's a fire res pot in the obvious base and the real base is in the lava lol
Base that takes standing on a pressure plate for 30 seconds to open but as soon as you step on it a hole in the wall opens saying “not here” as a trick to make them leave the pressure plate (maybe distractions in decoy room too)

lowkey yes. No hate to the guy but certain base idea wasn't excuted correctly or as well as it could have been
1) No complaints, perfect.
2)The redstone puzzle was not hard enough. It has to be complicated and kill more time. Call up mumbo and makes it hell to solve.
3)The farm idea can works but he made the entrance too obvious to see. Make the farm bigger and more red herring. Use a trapdoor or moss carpet to cover the the obvious hole.
4)just improve the redstone for the silence thing
5) no comments
6)don't give netherite(just enchanted iron and some food) and every room need to hard hostile mob. zombie, skeletons, piglin brutes, warden, 3 withers etc. He has to kill the mobs before the door can open via redstone
7)for the rpg idea: you need to make the questline longer and have some red herrings
8) make the grass block more hidden and hide the hoe/shovel better. also you can add more button just to waste time

I think the idea with the grass block is that the button was inside the base but the block was just a random grass block on the outside. Also, naming the one item you need THE KEY and also putting close to the ONLY grass block nearby just makes it too easy.

As much as squids execution ruins most ideas - like the cow pit entrance being completely visible on the side with a 5 block gap instead of the intended 1 and not being in the middle, thus visible from where the player would walk- it is understandable why he does it. He wants it to be found, hence the bad secret base idea title of the video. The first one was so well crafted only because he can't have a 100% fail rate. He needs some difference and some ideas are butchered just enough to fit into the small video format. It should be noted that not all of them are squids fault as some ideas are genuinely "bad ideas" and others that are good ideas are solved by knarfys dumb luck or experience.
Yeah I agree, some of the execution was bad but at the same time the one with the complex redstone decoy was different because I dont know who made it but it wasn't very complex. (I do understand it is very hard to do very complex redstone so that is why it is different)
Good bases don't make content. You could require hoing an entire field and he'd never get it done

It's unsatisfying to see good ideas lose because they weren't executed pretty well, when there's probably a bunch of funny ideas that could be built instead that might be more satisfying than "use the most obvious key on the most obvious lock" like he did.
For real tho "entire RPG quest line" and it's just a road. Sure, fitting an actual quest into a video like this isn't very possible but then just don't pick the idea lol

My idea: make a statue of knarfy . He will want to go in and when he goes in there will be 100 buttons but 1 will make tnt will spawn next to him blowing up the statue. This is designed to distract him and him wast lots of time then final the secret base will be a simple door in a giant oak tree in a forest at the end of the border

Secret base idea: A button within a cave. When he clicks the button, it will trigger a nearby piston hiding a second button. If he hits that second button, he is drowned by lava. But, if he waits, a hidden passage opens to reveal the base

Secret base: Like rekraps tunnels, you have an entire system of underground tunnels that lead everywhere. Make them as confusing as possible. You fall into the entrance of the tunnels and land into a water source. When you use a wind charge, a piston retracts the block under the water source leading to the stash.

SUPER BASE IDEA: build a house on the spawn point where you will put a a slab that will hide a boat, a chest with an enderpearl and a sign that will tell “there is nothing here hahaha”, so that knarfy thinks it’s a troll and pearls out. But this whole time the secret room was under the boat.

Then make sure its just a drop to the base from there so its not suspicious that theres extra unused room

And then the actual secret base where the diamonds are, is in height limit where you would need to tower up by collecting wood or something, also make that some trees are traps, and you explode when you try dig them

I'd like to see one where you have to set your spawn on a bed in a corner and die to be respawned through the wall into the base. Shouldn't be too hard if you place some lava nearby, that seems to cause a lot of deaths somehow.

Secret base: There are leads in a chest (not named) among other decoy items. There are animal pens with many different types of animals. The key is that a chicken must be taken to a wooden pole, then you strap it to the wooden fence above a 1 block hole that is very deep (hole must be surrounded by cobble wall so Knarfy can't jump in himself). Then you are to remove the lead while the chicken is dangling above the hole to make the chicken slowly fall into the hole on a stone pressure plate that will open the door to the secret base. Make it so the fall is deep and plate has a timer so if it's a different animal it will fall to death without opening the base. Ideally the animal pens are on the opposite corner of the hole

In an area with a village, build yourself a house and a golden statue of a ducky. The ducky, of course, has a secret door triggered by a lever that's conspicuously in the middle of the house you made. Inside that room is a bunch of furniture, and there's a hidden button/ lever that allows Knarfy to access a button/ lever underneath a specific villager's bed in one of the village houses, which then opens up a space under one of the village farms (opens up a block under the water) and that is made of stone and has a sign in the middle stating that it was all just a distraction. However, in a darkened corner, there is a stone button that reveals the actual secret base with all the diamond (the sign is just there to make Knarfy give up, if that wasn't already abundantly clear. )

Idea: Take a 15k by 15k space and fill it up with 3 by 3 by 3 rooms that are connected to each other. All of these rooms will have white carpets except for 40, which will have one piece of red carpet in the middle (these will all be red herrings). The actual secret base will be in 12 rooms to the west in one of the corners (under a white carpet. Let there also be elder guardians so that breaking the carpets will be much harder. The buster will spawn in the middle of this structure.
If chief actual does that, he should say "welcome to the backrooms" when the base buster comes in.
