Man I love the Crusaders! I've been listening for 50 years plus and still listen to them weekly.
July 2020 Now this is music that lasts !!!! RIP JAZZ Crusaders .
Still one of my top ten bands of all time ! Saw them at Birmingham Odeon 1978 fantastic .
Wilton Felder is also a very good bass player. He played bass in the studio on early Crusaders records as well as I want you back by the Jackson 5.
That's correct!
Also w/ Steely Dan
@@mikestars I knew about the west coast Motown that Wilton played bass on but what track did he play with Steely Dan?
@@donhinsberger6003 Specific tracks were not indicated but Wilton is listed as playing on both Pretzel Logic and Katy Lied albums
Wow amazing Performance & musicians! Joe sample ❤ rip
Awesome
Superb
Bassist is John Peña
great alto solo
What a sound! Is full concert available?!
Does anyone know the drummer? I've been trying to figure out who he is since I first saw this on PBS in the '80's. He is FANTASTIC.
Scott Peaker on drums here...The original drumer and founder of crusaders is Stix Hooper.
Camera operator fascinated by the saxophone player MOSTLY.
The album version has a trombone
Dios bendiga el jazz
I think David T. Walker is guitar
Yep! A Nice guy as well.
@@snowstorm5590 David T. Walker has been an excellent rhythm guitarist through the years. But he simply didn't have the same feel, or the same imagination, as Larry did when laying down those heavily-bent single string solos.
@@66mikerunner yeah, I always thought he was just okay. And his right hand technique produces a weird tinny tone that isn't easy on the ears
@@66mikerunner Agree.
Is guitarist Cornell Dupree?
@HankL That is D. Walker.
