    When the rubber piece wore out on my Paige capo, after about 15 years, I sent Paige an email and they sent me a new rubber sleeve.

    I've had a Paige for over a decade, and for the most part I love it. I rarely use my old Kyser since I bought it. I look at it as a poor man's Elliot. However, if it's adjusted loosely enough to prevent the strings from going sharp it allows strings to move under the rubber pad if I do a bend. But, it's clamping down hard enough that the bent string can't return to a neutral position when I release the bend if I have it tightened enough to cleanly fret the strings.

    When I first used the Paige capo on my 12 string the thin string of E, A, D, & G pairs would buzz or click as if muted. I put it on the 3rd fret, snugged it down and left it for a day. It now works great!
    Thanks for the review!

    Another note about the Page , Be sure to loosen it enough not to drag on the strings when moving it up and down the neck. If you leave it semi tight and slide it the strings will cut the rubber sleeve like a saw blade. ( I know from experience) I have 2 of them and love them :-)

    You can turn the rubber about an 1/8 of a turn and have new surface, I’ve got a $165 dollar Elliot capo, I use my Paige most of the time, the Elliot fits behind the headstock better and is lighter, but much more expensive! I wish Paige would cut a little weight off theirs. A great capo though especially for the money.

    Hello Tony, enjoyed your video on capo’s. Just want to know why you would say check off your list the Paige capo if your guitar has a volute. Not every person puts there capo up there. Convenience could be your pocket like you do. Paige is a good capo for the investment it cost. Tony Rice used a yoke capo and kept it in his pocket. Just saying. Thanks for your videos.

    I would have thought these were more like $50. It's roughly the same price as a Dunlop but is adjustable. The price on some of these capos are pretty ridiculous

    Hi. New-guy question... if you are storing your capo behind the nut with some tension - aren't you changing the pitch of the string, similar to a behind-the-nut string bend?

    • @uriahedwards
      @uriahedwards 2 года назад

      Only if you’re reaming down on the tension. Having enough tension to simply hold it won’t change the pitch

  • @tomellis37
    @tomellis37 4 года назад

    Excellent caution about the headstock maybe having a valoot (sp?). My D28 has one, and I would not be able to store the capo behind the nut.

    i have a Paige P-6E and i have a latch that looks like a hook. I CAN’T open it and it’s very frustrating. can someone help? Tony? Anyone?

      That’s the “new” design, different from the older one that Tony is reviewing here. Several online reviewers are just as frustrated with the new clasp design as you seem to be. It sounds like Paige might be better off going back to their original clasp.

    Does putting a capo over the strings above the nut affect the sound/tuning/tone of the guitar?

    Hi Tony, have you reviewed the Thalia Capo? I wonder what’s your take on this relatively new capo... love Acoustic Life!

    OK so I have a Martin OM28E and would like to purchase a capo that I can store behind the nut and the Paige doesn't seem to be the correct choice. Any recommendations?

    I totally got one before I watched this video and my guitar is made like a D-28 so the Paige doesn’t secure very well there. Love the capo though

    Hi ! I lost my Paige Capo because I couldn't leave it on above the nut when I hung my guitar on my wall support. ;) What do you suggest? :)

  • @mr.k1896
    @mr.k1896 7 месяцев назад

    I’ve never lost a capo. Is this a thing? Like my mind is blown thinking of the idea that there are so many people losing capos that a capo that is attached to the guitar had to be developed.

      This happened to me last month and is what brought me here; I live in Boston and was playing in NH backing up a singer, just me on acoustic for 2 hours - what should have been an hour-ish drive turned into a four-hour ordeal going the wrong way during rush hour on a Friday because I got halfway there, realized I forgot my capos on the desk where I practice and had to turn around.

    Has Martin changed its neck profile thru the years?I pin a 57 d28 that my dad left me .I know it Disney have a truss rod.

    • @tacguitar
      @tacguitar  8 лет назад +1

      Yes indeed Martin neck profiles have gone through many changes. Even within a given year they can change especially when the necks were hand shaped. My '35 0-17's neck is drastically different from my '48 00-17.

    What is the radius of this Paige capo

    • @tacratt6091
      @tacratt6091 3 года назад

      It pretty much matches Martin radius, the rubber is thick and soft enough to make up some difference to!
