It was a time when Disney still cared about studios making games for them that pushed graphics to the limits while also having decent gameplay. Not like now with EA chewing out one terrible Star Wars lootbox multiplayer game out after another and now employee-abuse-Ubisoft getting their shot at making a terrible game. It's like Disney now only cares about who has the biggest name in the industry, not who's making the best games. Then again, a 'best game' is now probably defined by how much money it pulls out of players wallets with microtransactions, not actual quality.
The Hakuna Matata level has some interesting trivia: 1) the spinning logs that fall down the waterfall are RNG, as in there is a slight chance of not ascending the waterfall due to poor platform placement. 2) the boss is an original character from the game, as there was supposed to be a gorilla in the movie, but it was cut.
I love the idea Simba comes back as some phase shifting claw-fu style martial artist that destroys all the hyenas in the matter of moments. That's the true Lion King story.
You sir, are an absolute pro at speed running. I watched your speed run. Of this game and the saga Genesis version. On the easiest difficulty And it was an absolute piece of cake. I usually follow your lead pretty much whenever I Speed run You should do an overspeed run of the saga Genesis version. On the difficulties difficulty To show How much better you got to be a pro at speed running games over the years.
There are most runners out there which are not much of a pro. And most of the ones that weren't much of a pro, they got a extra health bug on the first level for the fight with the hyenas. I used to collect that before. But now I'm like you where I don't have to extend My health
the sprite quality and animation in this game is glorious
The voice samples too

"It starts..."
*And ends almost as quickly*

I remember this game being ridiculously hard as a kid. The tears of joy and frustration the first time I beat it in one sitting! !__!

Ending Credits...
Westwood Studios...
OMG! COMMAND AND CONQUER IS IN THE SAME WESTWOOD UNIVERSE AS LION KING!!!
Here mainly to see the 2nd stage run through.
I could never beat this game as a kid.
Big same. I have no idea how anyone was supposed to figure their way around that mess.
@@Eight-Bytes I could never get past the 2nd run part with ostrich cause those stupid pigs or whatever blend so well into the background.
IIRC, they've made that level difficult on purpose, so young players wouldn't beat the game on a single rental period.
Give Simba superhuman instincts and reflexes and this is what you get.
Tudo o que o sol toca é o nosso reino.
*when you discover ostrichs have two heads*
Got stuck on lvl 6 as a kid, took months but eventually passed it, and was in shock to discover he was fully grown on the next level, what a game!
I love how this TAS just beats one of the most difficult games (because of its flaws) of all time, like it's just a Tuesday. 😅😂
TAS: To you, the day you tried so hard to beat this game, was the most difficult day of your life. But for me, it was Tuesday.
Ahhh my childhood days.. what a great game this is.
I had to buy a magazine here in brazil when I was a kid just to know how to pass the stage 2.
I don’t think the Hyena was ready to fight that quickly on the first level.
This game still hits hard in the nostalgia department
Did that ostrich have two heads?
Isso é um glitch frame perfect, e para fazer você deve apertar para baixo e pulo no mesmo frame.
@@HeadshotguyKungLao You don't need to press both buttons on the same frame. You hold down and then press jump on the same frame you release down.
That's a Doduo!
The ostrich section was awful
Damn, this game looks amazing. I missed out when I had my SNES back then, so maybe I should pick this up.
Great Run Good looking game as well

No prepared wall clip?
TAS was made before it was discovered
Yo jugaba así pero me lastime la rodilla
So this is the game people speak so highly of...
TAS is slower than human WR, thats not ok
why is the music so silly
