Watched " Premam" last night for the very first time . I think it's safe to say that I have completely fallen in love with Malayalam cinema ( and Nivin Pauly too ) . Being a Bengali , it is absolutely impossible for me to understand the lyrics of this gem of a song . However, after reading through its English translation, the only thing that I can say is that this is not just a song , it's a poetic masterpiece . I wish I could speak Malayalam . What a sweet language ! ( well not as sweet as Bangla )

A North Indian here. Fell in love with Malayalam movies after watching Kumbalangi Nights and Premam. I do not understand a word but the sheer beauty of the song has kept it on a loop in my head. Love You Kerala. ❤️

7 years back, when I was in second year of my college, this movie happened. ❤️ The frenzy created by Premam was really something. The black shirt and Mundu, along with Moustache and Beard (aka Katta Thaadi) and cooling glass was trending in Kerala campuses throughout that year. Also for girls with frizzy hair, they were called "Mary" (character name of Anupama Parameswaran in the movie) and those with long hair, used to do "Malar miss" hair style. The sweet teacher in every campus was called Malar miss, for obvious reasons. Aah , those days❤️

Even in Bangladesh too. There is one problem is language. Normally Bangladeshis can easily understand hindi but malayalam is completely different. There is no clue of a single word of malayalam. Hope there will be more Subtitled and Hindi dubbed Kerala movies.

I still remember how one of clg classmate xplained evry single word . Finally after 4 years, went to chennai for studies... Learnt malayalam from my roommate and rewatched it... ❤️ This movie started the new wave of malayalam movies across n.e region and even northern 🇮🇳

After this movie(also Charlie and Bangalore Days) I realised that Malayalam cinema actually produces the best films in any genre!! Since then following only Malayalam films. the 1st 30mins of premam is a disaster..2nd 90mins where the magic happens..3rd 30mins were just okok and stale climax ...and you ask anyone who replays it..they will skip the 30mins and keep rewinds the 90mins...why malar's unadulterated smile and body language..only she can justify the role along with nivin...after all nivin "ondru peria manmatha kunju illai" but two little star makes the big bang happens...good chemistry... off course nivin's acting is remarkable
