      I did and I had to change the ackerman since the FB is rear steer and the FC is front steer

    Is that all I will need to get this to work? FC knuckles (reversed), FC coilovers, and FB camber plates, 626 ball joints and it will all fit perfect? Do I need to modify anything? I already have FC T2 brakes... (old RE Speed BBK)

    • @TheDriftingDad
      @TheDriftingDad  5 лет назад +1

      Yes! But you will have reverse ackermann steering, might not be noticible though. You also probably need longer tierods

    • @TheDriftingDad
      @TheDriftingDad  5 лет назад +1

      Moog ES458S is what you need

      Thanks for the info! Keep up the good work, love your content. This will be my next project. I want to get rid of the FB front suspension. Could I use the T3 LCAs (picked up a used set recently before I saw this)? They use a AE86 ball joint. Do you think I can replace those with 626 ball joint instead? Do you think they are compatible?

    • @TheDriftingDad
      @TheDriftingDad  5 лет назад

      They may fit, not sure what the diameter is compared to an FB

    Is this the knuckle your running in your FB just reversed and modified for more angle? I have a 83 fb Thanks for the tips

    • @TheDriftingDad
      @TheDriftingDad  5 лет назад +1

      This is the knuckle from an FC turned around like you said for the FB. If you wanted to you can run this in your 83 with a Mazda 626 balljoint in your stock arms and FC struts and springs

      @@TheDriftingDad Wow I never would've guessed honestly lol Thank you for the Info I really do appreciate it, like you said there really isn't much info on these mods out there, so it's a big relief to finally get this stuff figured out, i think your channel is great!! You've got a really good base to make a well paid career from this channel. Best of luck to you and your Fam. Happy Holidays.

    Have you done an FC front subframe swap? I'm in the process of converting to ls/t5/8.8, but suspension is a mystery to me. I like the idea of r&p and the bigger components of the fc

    • @TheDriftingDad
      @TheDriftingDad  5 лет назад

      I did not, FC subframe is not a bad idea though. I have no complaints with my FC knuckles and custom LCAs on the FB subframe. I have a power steering box though so that helps a lot

  • @nickyannucci8226

    It really seems like you’re trying to reinvent the wheel. I like your ambition but it’s wayyyy easier to just swap the whole fc rx7 subframe into the fb and boom you have a actual rack instead of old truck steering arms lol and fc coils knucks and tons of angle kits

    • @TheDriftingDad
      @TheDriftingDad  2 года назад

      I agree that FC subframe could be easier, but I did not want to redo my pan or move the steering rack if it did not clear. This is a lower cost option for me to get caster trail and other desirable geometry for drifting.

    • @nickyannucci8226
      @nickyannucci8226 Год назад

      Redo your pan ? If your drifting you should be running a baffled pan w and Accusump, or a dry sump. Improved racing makes a bolt in baffle for fbody pan and that would clear the subframe. I’m setting up my rx8 for next years drift season.

    • @TheDriftingDad
      @TheDriftingDad  Год назад +1

      I am running a road race style pan with baffles and windage tray and crank scraper, no issues, but i would like to run an accusump

    • @nickyannucci8226
      @nickyannucci8226 Год назад

      If it’s a rear sump pan I would imagine it would clear a fc subframe. I have an fb and fc as well. I’m going to fix a rx8 rear subframe under my fb

    Could you make a video of the fb knuckles and how you modified them?

    • @TheDriftingDad
      @TheDriftingDad  5 лет назад

      I will try, unfortunately I didn't do any video when I modified mine.

    • @dylanhalder715
      @dylanhalder715 5 лет назад

      Awesome! I have been thinking of cutting mine for a while, but never thought of adjusting ackerman.. anything you would change if you were to do it again on the fb knuckles?

    • @TheDriftingDad
      @TheDriftingDad  5 лет назад

      I would reduce more ackerman than I did. I had a big difference in angle between the leading and trailing wheel
