I love these videos. I'm learning so much even though I've lived in AZ most of my life. We recently moved to Tucson, so it's great seeing where to find all these plants. Thanks so much!
Good to hear Dalton! These videos on plants of the desert SW have not been very popular on my channel, but they were "labors of love". I was glad I did all the filming when I did this Spring, as you know everything is burning to the ground now :-(
@@KurtPapke Yes, very unfortunate. Hopefully monsoon season comes fairly soon and hopefully without too much erosion or flooding after the fire. Do you know of any groups that might be doing trail work after the fire area is open again?
Thanks for this informative video. I would love to visit this national park in the future! Visited joshua tree national park recently and that felt otherworldly, can't imagine how seeing these thriving in person would be :)
My favorite place to photograph saguaros is at Maeveen Behan Desert Sanctuary. The ground is flat and there are not an abundance of nurse trees so you can walk right up to them and get an unobstructed view of them
Agree 100%. I shot lots of the Ironwood footage for the desert trees episode in Maeveen. It’s one of the few areas I know of with lots of young ironwoods.
Even tho The Saguaro Cactus all Look alike, they are all very different, You Have Saguaro Cactus, Golden Saguaros, Segmented Saguaros and finally Crested Saguaros.
Funny...the first become last!🙂. Another great teaching lesson here for us all. Thanks, Kurt.
Good point James!
Informative and enjoyable! Really appreciate the effort!
Thanks Aza!
Very helpful! Thank you.
Good to hear Brody!

Prickly pears are my favorite! Just make sure you remove the micro thorns. Very informative, thanks Kurt!
Thanks Ashley! Got a couple more of these desert plant videos to finish up - one of these days!
I love cactus. This video is great, very informative. Thanks for this :)
So nice of you to make such a nice comment, thank you!

They are worth seeing!
Nice job!
Thanks, I don't get many comments on this series, so I appreciate the feedback!

Thanks for the info. I can readily identify a crested saguaro, but don’t think I could pick out a golden (yet!)
