- Siquijor - YES! Back together with my long time love :D Back in the Philippines. This time I start the journey in Siquijor, in the far south of the Visayas.
I only had one day on the island (which is way too short I know!) so this video basically shows the highlights as I have seen them
Video’s about Apo Island, Dauin (Dumaguete), Sipalay, Guimaras, Isla de Gigantes and Antique are on their way as well, keep an eye out for them.

►Cambugahay falls / waterfalls in Siquijor. Take a dip here at one of the blue lakes
►Old enchanted balete tree, let the fish nibble your feet
►Salagdoong Beach, for the famous Siquijor Cliff dive
►Cave - there seems to be one but I haven’t seen it! Maybe if you got more than one day
►Man who makes the paper puppets dance - got this tip from a viewer but I am not sure where he might be.

There are quite a lot of resorts and hotels, small and big. Most suggested online is Coco Grove. I haven’t slept here, but my tour to Apo island was organized through this place. It looked great! Really good. You won’t be disappointed staying here I am sure. Though for my taste maybe a bit big, which is why I stayed in the place down below.

I loved this place! If you want something more personal, go for Garden Bungalows. A resort with 4 places only, and a pool in between. Of course situated in a lovely garden. The owner and members of the resort took me (and other guests) to some amazing places, I wouldn’t have found myself! You can arrange motorcycles and a tour over the island with them as well.

Quiet, at the beach, romantic. Very good choice. Eat here at least one night.

To defend myself: I spend one day in Apo island (video coming right up) and I had one day of work from things that needed to be finished....
But hey, you know what they say: better one day of your life in Siquijor.... than none at all ;)

It just blows my mind that a natural spring originates from under that 400 year old Banyan tree! I mean, how could that happen? Lol! I guess it's just one of the many fascinating mysteries of Isla del Fuego (Island of Fire). That's how the Spaniards used to call Siquijor Island during the Spanish colonial period. Looking forward to more of your Philippine adventures, I bet it's going to be a fun and exciting series once again! I love your beautiful story telling as always!-: )

I LOVE Siqiujor!!!!! Negros honestly feels like home to me. I’ve been all over the Philippines and Dumaguete has the right mix. It has plenty of restaurants and shopping to do for convenience. But it is also a short distance back to the provinces where it feels like the true Philippines. I’m glad you enjoyed your visit and I’ll be back there again myself in April!

Travel Gretl Make sure you take some time to head north from Dumaguete! Bais sandbar is a must see! Bais is a cute little town with some nice restaurants as well (if you know where to look) 😬

That balete tree stories way back when I was child, moslty old people says that tree is full of mysterys.so that story intact in my mind.. When I came here in h.k 2012where ever I go have a lots of balete tree (and felt a little scary)awkward😂😂😂 even in the seaside park, beach, village haha.. I open up my wisdom and knowledge and I say they just made story to scary us.. 😁😁😁
