Cutting Acrylic on xTool P2 - xTool P2 acrylic - xTool tutorial - xTool P2 project - xTool P2

Hi Friends, Welcome back to the craft castle! Today I’m showing you how to cut mirror acrylic on the xTool P2. Many don't know this but the xTool P2 can cut and engrave on all acrylics. The reason why the xTool P2 can cut and engrave all acrylics is because it's a CO2 laser. While the other xTool laser machines advertise that they can cut acrylics, I honestly wouldn't even bother attempting this material with those laser machines.

Hello! Awesome video! I was checking out your settings when you were cutting the mirror Acrylic, I see that you used the 3 mm transparent Acrylic settings and then adjusted your speed. I just got my P2 when I’m cutting Acrylic I just select the transparent setting for all of the mirror, Acrylic? I really appreciate it. Thank you so much.

I generally don’t touch the settings. I always suggest doing a test cut and adjust from there but generally with acrylic the xTool preset works fine

I heard you can cut mirror acrylic with the backing on. I havent tried it but sad since i have the M1 juat for acrylic cutting

I'm assuming what you're saying is you can cut mirror acrylic with the mirror side facing up.
While this is true - I truly do NOT suggest doing this. I've owned several lasers through out 5 years and this is NOT a good thing for your laser.
1: The mirror in acrylic can/will destroy the mirrors in your laser. Reflecting your laser into your laser mirrors can cause damage, and this is a costly mistake that is easily avoidable.
2: You have the chance of creating flashback. Flashback in mirror acrylic will create a weird rippling in the mirror of the acrylic which then will make your cuts look like a weird melted mess.
If you want perfect cuts every time. Put the mirror side facing down (or grey side facing up) and mirror your cuts just like I showed in the video.

Black acrylic - make sure to set focus before cutting.
