My late father was manager of Dundee Rep when Jeremy was a member of the company. A year or two later, Jeremy helped me (then aged 14) to pick out my first guitar. He bought all his musical kit at that shop, so they threw in a free set of pitch-pipes and a copy of Bert Weedon's classic 'Play in a Day'!
It was obvious that Jeremy Clyde was a true aristocrat - he always had a genuine poise, quiet confidence: an attractive gentlemanly cool. Chad Stuart had much more the 'Energizer Bunny" presence. Watching them.... they seemed as different as fire and water. It's amazing that their friendship & joint career ultimately weathered their innate differences in style...and their varied goals.
@@rmp7400 as someone who met Jeremy, I'd agree with that. He was very cordial in that kind of way. But in his youth, he was the energized one and Chad was the straight man. They did kinda get like your description in their old age, didn't they?
good history on the two , however it gets confusing when last names start being interchanged with first names, and most fans dont know who is who when this is done.
Fascinating. Thanks. I cannot get Summer Song out of my head sometimes especially since all my summers were spent up at our place up in the Adirondacks and it was always kinda sad to leave at season’s end 🥲
Liked them very much. They did a fun guest stint on the original Batman series in the 60s. Chad was the father of actor James Patrick Stewart, though I swear I think James looks more like Jeremy!
I liked them when they did a guest stint on 'The Dick Van Dyke Show' - they were called 'The Redcoats' on that episode. Rob was talked into having them stay over at his house because of all the fans. So cool!!
If you are only 64, not surprising that they were not on your radar. Their biggest British Splash in the USA was with "A Summer Song" - which, in its "pastoral" ambiance was unexpectedly electrifying in its harmonic beauty.
They had one minor hit in England - no-one's really heard of them over here. My personal opinion is that their songs are unremarkable and bland. Good for them though.

And probably a couple of very good looking guys as well!😊
We saw C & J in a free concert in Prescott Valley, Arizona about 20+ years ago. They were AWESOME.

They sounded great together!
Can you do What happened to Molly Hatchet and what happened to Journey?
I always liked Chad & Jeremy over Peter & Gordon.

3:24. They also did a guest spot on The Virginian.
I have never heard of these folks and I am 64 this year.
I'm 75 and I do remember them. They were part of the British Invasion caused by the Beatles.
