Some US Catholics need to start paying attention to how many Cardnals, Bishops & leaders around the world have become quite concerned about just how much freedom US Cardinals & Bushops have been allowed to have their own agenda as well as present it as “Church Teaching” when it is their own personal interpretation. This is way overdue & extremely lenient. Let's keep in mind that Francis has also been disciplining those German Bishops who also are running off on their own very liberal agenda instead of working along with their fellow Bishops & Cardinals. Start listening to some of the other voices of the church for balance.

” has also been disciplining those German Bishops ”? I never heard about this. What was the measure taken? I know only, that he patiently talked with them and asked them nicely, but firmly, not to implement their decisions made during the last meating of the Synodal Path. And this after they publicly declaring, they will do it, whether Rome likes it or not, from 2026 onward. This was not an attack on the pope?

Interesting and I just listened to Cardinal William Gregory of DC, we need to be Synodal Church-walking and welcoming and not judging, yet he reduced the Extraordinary form in his diocese, and Bergolio is creating his vendetta again Burke and a certain guy in Tyler. I would love to see these people who are writing "ALL UNDER And with PETER" if Burke or Sarah is elected the next Pope. Here in Asia, up until a few years ago Cardinal Tagle was all the talk as the next successor and Bergolio was promoting his agenda so much finding Tagle in all the events in and around Rome. Now, my Pinoy friends in Rome said, the Pope sidelined him and is now ignoring him and we are starting to dislike the Pope. Same with his Vicar in Rome, he raised him from simple Roman pastor to an auxiliary to Cardinal Vicar--suddenly he himself got an assistance seems to be almost his coadjutor. There are more drama in the Vatican than in a Latin American telenovela.

Especially for people who so Violate their Vow of Obedience to the Successor of St Peter!!!🤨 As a Pinoy-Irish American I for one love this Pope and wish him God speed with all due haste to Create a More Open Holy Mother Church!!! That it bears much bountiful fruit for a Faith that is losing so many young folk!! And for the record I still believe that Cardinal Luis Antonio Goakim Tagle has a very Strong Possibility of being the Next Pope. Either him or Cardinals Schonborn, Sean O'Malley, Timothy Dolan or Peter Turkson. Depending if they're still under 80 by that time. Absolutely Shame & Calumny on these Conservative Cardinals for being a sore thorn in Pope Francis's side!!!😤 Good Riddance to that Insurrectionist Bishop Joseph Strickland!! It is up to the Lord to deem whether or Not they are still So called Holy Men!!🧐

Schoborn - the real “blood prince” of the church - a true master of Dominican formation was too close to Papa Ratzinger for his years working on the Catechism of the Church. If you ever have a chance to sit and talk with the Cardinals appointed in the last 10 years they will tell you “I don’t know almost anyone in the college apart from the news”. They don’t have their traditional meetings to get to know each other. A few too many are actually very conservative but rather discreet. JP2 appointed and kept many men who were did agree or follow his thinking such as Martini in Milan but he alwyas wanted a balance of opinions.

This is the first time I have listened to the Jesuit Review, though I am very familiar with the tenants of globalism and climate. To be frank with you, the "political change" mentioned around the 4:30 mark is being expressed in Canada as carbon taxes that seriously disrupt the already inflation and high interest rate sapped buying power of families and businesses here.
The question of man-made climate change is not resolved, as much as people claim. Even the UN's IPCC report says that human contribution is between no more than 1-5%. The effects of sun spots and solar flares, under sea vents, and volcanoes on the earth's climate are not understood, yet punitive climate policy hurts regular Canadians.
Our Pontiff, God bless him, is off course. Rather than preaching Christ crucified, he is, in my opinion, preaching eco-liberation theology. He sacked Bishop Joseph Strickland; for what? Being a good Catholic Bishop? Let us pray.

    Dear Gerry,
are you still a journalist or a propaganda guy? ”on previous pontificates Burke would have lost his red hat”! Who lost his red hat, during the pontificate of John Paul 2? or Benedict? Please, just 1 example. You must remember, how attacked Benedict was during his pontificate. Who got punished?
I believed, after your explanation, regarding the expulsion of Ganswein, that he was the only guy, who was not trustworthy. Now are there more? Why this poor pope Francis can t be sure, of the confidentiality of the meetings he holds? Who chose this people? Pope Francis is pope, for over 10 years.
According to you, you obtain information from „persons who were not authorized to speak publicly”, are this guys trustworthy? I mean, they talk unauthorized... I got confused what trustworthy means for you, stanch supporters of pope Francis. This is the reason I listen the analysis of your friend, John Allen, rather than yours.
Bacciu was arrested because „just money”, yes, a large sum, actually. If I got it right 1/3 of the state secretary budget. In every state you go to jail for this kind of things. Well, of course, we can t be quite sure, with all the interfering of the officials, even during the closing arguments Parolin sent a letter. So, was he a scapegoat? The fall guy?
And I steel have questions. Who are this kind prelates, the club of „misericordiosi” who would drink the blood of others, who are this „people from the Vatican„? What kind of people are you there, dear Gerry? What kind of people gathered Pope Francis there?
I am not a fan of Burke, I don t know much about him, but the double standard is so obvious. And is disturbing. Bätzing threatens with schism and he is fine. How can pope Francis explain this? Actually he can t! Asked about it in a recent interview, he just denied being heavy handed on some, easy on others, but he did not elaborate. I wonder why?

Dear Cardinal Burke and his loyal allies,
Please examine Acts 10. Peter prays and has a vision. Three times he says, "By no means, Lord; for I have never eaten anything that is profane or unclean." Then, a short time later, Cornelius, a Roman Centurion, invites Peter and six of his companions to visit him. Something changes inside Peter while he is on his way. He knows that, if he accepts to stay with Cornelius, that he will be invited to eat from his table. This is tearing him up. If he takes his stand for the tradition, he cannot eat from this unclean table. Not to accept his hospitality, on the other hand, will be a slap in Cornelius' face--treating him as someone unclean. So what will Peter do??? When he arrives, Peter greets this Roman Centurion saying, "You yourselves know that it is unlawful for a Jew to associate with or to visit a Gentile; but God has shown me that I should not call anyone profane or unclean." Yipes! Peter confesses his "change of mind" but now the issue is not just "unclean food" but "unclean associations" as well. What happened? How could Peter dare to drop the tradition that was held sacred by the Israelites for more than 1200 years?
So, Cardinal Burke, you wish to be counted among those who resist the changes made by Peter. I can understand this. In Acts 11, Peter returns home (Jerusalem) and we learn that the circumcised believers criticized him, saying, "Why did you go to uncircumcised men and eat with them?" So you wish to endorse the position of the nay-sayers in Jerusalem.
This is a parable for our times. Pope Francis is being severely criticized by you, just as was Peter in Acts. "Why did you change the liturgy from Latin to the many tongues?" "Why did you allow the faithful to receive the Lord's body in their unclean hands?" "Why did you permit Catholics to stand when receiving?" “Why are divorced and remarried Catholics sometimes permitted to receive?” “Why are abortion advocates [like President Biden] allowed to receive?” . . . .
And what can Pope Francis say to defend himself against these accusations? Must he pull rank and say, "The Lord has made me the successor of Peter. I am the one who decides what is to be ‘bound’ and what is to be ‘loosed.’ If you disregard me, you disregard the Lord Jesus." He could do this, would you agree? Is it not the Catholic tradition to insist that he must do this as defender of the faith???
But NO, HE DOES NOT. This is the mystery. He could and should compel you for it your duty to obey the pope! Yet, he does not. He follows the gentle path taken by Peter. In Acts 11, Peter returns home (Jerusalem) and we learn that the circumcised believers criticized him, saying, "Why did you go to uncircumcised men and eat with them?" And what does Peter do. He tells his story in all its details to you. Meditate on Acts 11. Peter is hoping that you would be able to follow him and be able to say, "If I had been there in the house of Cornelius, I would have done what you did. So I stand with you!"
But you are unable to do this. TRADITION for you has become the authoritative norm. CONTINUITY is the only path into the future. So your protests continue: "Why did you change the liturgy from Latin to the many tongues?" "Why did you allow the faithful to receive the Lord's body in their unclean hands?" "Why did you permit unclean Catholics to stand when receiving?" “Why do you welcome the unclean [LGBT] with open arms?” So you choose to band together and make an insurrection in the heart of the Catholic community. . . . You will not allow Peter (in Acts) to change! You will not allow Pope Francis, his successor, to change!
So, do you imagine that God approves of what you are doing?
Please ponder these things, Brother Burke, for God needs you and the Church needs you (but now she, Our Holy Mother, suffers because of your insurrection).
    Fraternally in JMJ,
    Aaron Milavec

I'm not associated with Cardinal Burke (but I support his position) nor am I a theologian. The obvious difference I can see with today's situation and at the time of St. Peter at the beginning of the Church's formation is - the change allowed in those days had the blessing of God. It is God's will to bring the lost sheep back into the fold so the Apostles had to preach to them and baptize them. God told St. Peter in a vision that it was His will to change the Laws so the Apostles can convert the pagans. Where did this order to change the teachings of Our Lord Jesus Christ come from? Did any of the popes have a new vision from God? Did God say "instead of saving souls you should be saving the environment"? Did God say "homosexuality is okay, adultery is okay, other religions are okay, etc."?
