BBALLBREAKDOWN hey coach Nick. I am having issues logging into the app. It will take my login and password then starting loading and go back to the login screen. Is there a problem?
same thing I said about my pistons. Can't stand Reggie Jackson cuz he makes us mediocre when we could be great. Can't stand the bench who are winning games for us when we could've tanked. too late now.
You're right. But they're not just missing the tourney. They're like the 3rd worst team in all the power conferences. Like 60+ teams. Their RPI is 212 out of 351. They're so bad it's not even a question that Fultz has to play a part in it. You could put the #1 prospect on the worst team and they should be able to get to .500 against college competition.
travz21 fultz plays the part where he brought them to 9 wins they legit don't have a single player last year won 18 Gamez with 2 first rounders must not be fultz
King Peezyworld He's got flaws thatll affect him in the NBA. Make him go right and hes irrelevant, he has an awkward jump shot and his free throws are god awful for an "elite" 3 point shooter, better hope he turns into an elite defender if hes gonna hang with the rest of them. Def a bust, but id be happy to eat my own words if im wrong
Marcus Noble Yeah sure, heard that one too many times. This kid is just awkward, plain and simple and he's going to struggle adjusting, he shouldnt have this many flaws entering the NBA but hey. Lets keep hyping him up, his father is a head case and has been doing a good job doing so
Treypole because we see this all the time and say the same thing. of course we could be wrong but if we see someone who obviously needs developing we are doubtful. just look at all the other bust
because people been poisoned by plays liker lebron curry and other greats coming out playing well their first year. people just idiots calling these young ass prospects busts after a first season. like gtfo
cobi wartes curry was injury player pretty much till his 3 or 4th year on top of played with Monte Ellis who was straight from HS and took more playing from him. Once Monte was traded away a season after was when he showed up, which was right time.
RaixVortex I agree, and not everyone is ELITE. Some players only player elite for periods of time too. I think Lonzo definitely has a chance to become a good NBA player, but he does have a lot of mechanical issues
Magic's shot was not solid either when he came into the league. He was a big point guard with A+ passing vision. If the Lakers get Ball, he'll be trained by guess who??? Showtime 2.0 y'all!!!
Stop it man, lol Don't compare this kid with Magic, please. The game was drastically different back then, the 3pt line and the perimeter play in general were not prominient. Magic was basically Rondo on roids, people don't even bothered to defend his jumper. He developed a average jumper very late in his career, but the sport maintained the post mentality all that time, so Magic's game never took a serious hit. Nowadays, a weak guard who telegraphs every move just like this Ball kid does, he will be murdered in the NBA. Every PG is super athletic, even an alltime talent like Chris Paul suffers with the physicallity of the playoffs, imagine these scrubs comming off college?
You gotta realize Magic had a troop to run Showtime. Magic getting 10+ dimes a game doesn't happen when you don't have Byron Scott who is decent at 6'4" and can shoot and James Worthy who can slash. Along with other tall talented big men who can help finish close to the hoop.
Watching this video again and it's amazing how accurate it was. Lonzo started off struggling a lot with his shooting but is slowly improving. The part about him becoming an elite defender is also very true. He's getting at least a block/steal each game. He still has to improve staying in front of smaller/faster guards and also get stronger but out of all the rookies he's the best one defensively. In a few years I can definitely see him becoming one of the best two-way guards in the NBA.
Wonderful attention to detail coach, very interesting to watch all the elements of his game you've picked up on. I balled for years and still wouldn't notice most of this stuff. Keep up the good work!
The man took 5 floaters all year and RARELY shoots the middy... you cant really say thats a part of his game. That and the P/R are his only glaring weaknesses imo. The defense will come with time. That being said, hes one of the best natural passers I have ever seen and can shoot contested 30 foot bombs like noones buisness, which is exactly the kind of PG you want nowadays. Plus he's 6'6 with underrated speed given his size and hes only 19 yrs young...dude has crazy potential.
How are you not atleast a high school program coach? You know a ton about basketball man, and not just NBA facts and history but actual mechanical breakdowns of each player. Dope channel man keep at it!
From this, I don't watch NCAA basketball and even NBA is hard for me, Lonzo Ball could be a very good first year but with good coaching and physical development he could become a real deal and a star in the NBA
Ha! Coach, that's quality advertisement in the beginning. Way better than throwing a screenshot of a smartphone app up there. Didn't see the ad coming.
Hey coach, how bout a breakdown of the home & home series between the wizards and the raptors? 2 very different games and different outcomes. It'd be nice to hear about strategy adjustments
Yeah I haven't seen him create shots whether its out of the post or driving to his right. And thanks Coach for pointing out his inexperience with pick and rolls. I hope he develops his game so he can be a consistent scorer in the NBA because I don't want him to be another Rondo.
honestly I think hes perfect for the lakers. he could come in and play off russell and jc for the first year or two and then when hes ready start becoming a bigger and bigger threat in their offense
The Ball brothers, really have one of the highest ratio when it comes to ugliness/effectiveness on their jumpers. Crazy how effective it is. (Look out Reggie, they're coming for you !)
I like how you brought up how it might take him a little to get adjusted to the NBA most people think he will be amazing right away. This isnt to discredited Lonzo's game.
I kind of shoot like lonzo ball. Mostly the feet alignment with less of a hitch in the release, but it's been since I was a kid. Most ballplayers and coaches I know told me to stop but I had the most rhythm that way.
Hey Coach - another question. Surprisingly I asked one down this line in a video a few months ago too - but have you ever talked to NBA assistant coaches/scouts and seen if they go into footage to this detail? Or if there's someone like you researching other top players out there and producing it? The amount of work you put into your videos here is insane! I can't imagine employing a room full of 10 or 15 guys to go research to this depth players' abilities but somehow, I can't imagine some teams aren't doing it to at least a detailed level.
+Omar Bertaiba yeah, and I'm not sure how much better he can get at it. But his adjustment is to cross over to the left then pull up. Possible that is enough
He's atlethic. He can shoot of the drible or catch and shoot and if nothing else he can really pass the ball. I'm not saying he's the next MVP but he's gonna be in the league for a long team as a starting pg.
Great breakdown Coach Nick never really thought about how he has no concept on the pick and roll or the free throw shooting because of all the other great things that he brings to the table. On his free throw mechanics he needs to bring the ball chest level in front of his number so when he releases the ball he is halfway there. This causes him not to double dip. This kid is special and will make any Nba team better his game is taylor made for the Rockets or Warriors but in about three years watch out he could be the leagues top point guard!
+Timothy Madden thanks! Bringing the ball to chest level then stopping before going up into the free throw is not recommended. Not sure if this is what you are saying. Did you see my Free Throw video I did with Scooter Barry? Ball should start at waist, then move up and out in one fluid motion
BBALLBREAKDOWN Not at all Coach Nick I was basically trying to say that if he has the ball out in front of his body and is square to the basket with all ten toes pointing to the basket then this would allow him to go directly in to his shooting motion. On film it looks like his is double dipping meaning that he brings the ball to his waist first and it's basically not one smooth motion.

You don't need to have a pullup game to be an offensive monster. Only shooting 3s and layups will almost always make you a more efficient and valuable player. It's a huge reason for Curry's rise to legend status.
travz21 A) no shit B) good shooters can pull up from 3pt range too but athletic NBA defenders will dare Lonzo to go right where his only option is to attack the basket (and the defense can prepare for it i.e. funnel to help) C) even though layups & 3's are typically the most efficient shots, you should have multiple shots in your repertoire and be able to take advantage of what the defense gives you This kid is Schroder, with no P&R skill but better catch & shoot ability.

0:42 How did he know? WTF
👁👁
BBALLBREAKDOWN Haha That was slick. Loving these videos btw.
BBALLBREAKDOWN hey coach Nick. I am having issues logging into the app. It will take my login and password then starting loading and go back to the login screen. Is there a problem?
And then there's my Heat who gave up on tanking🙃
👹
Javal Brooks if i were a heat fan i would be angry
Javal Brooks I'm pissed at dion waiters
same thing I said about my pistons. Can't stand Reggie Jackson cuz he makes us mediocre when we could be great. Can't stand the bench who are winning games for us when we could've tanked. too late now.
Javal Brooks They were never tanking in the first place
Luka doncic, He is the one teams should tank for. Unbelieveble player
Woah nice dude
this aged so well
He's been a winner all his life, cant tell if thats a positive or a negative when it comes to his NBA future
CKdiner pretty much every NBA player is used to winning their whole life
Not Fultz. He's a huge loser this year which should say a lot about him as a player.
travz21 no it shouldn't it should say a lot about his coach missing tourney 5 straight Years with 5 1st rounders in that span so don't say that bs
You're right. But they're not just missing the tourney. They're like the 3rd worst team in all the power conferences. Like 60+ teams. Their RPI is 212 out of 351. They're so bad it's not even a question that Fultz has to play a part in it. You could put the #1 prospect on the worst team and they should be able to get to .500 against college competition.

lovin this series coach
Awesome. I wonder if I should do more than 3...
BBALLBREAKDOWN im totally ok with as many of these as you want to put out
BBALLBREAKDOWN yes please do more!!
If you want that would be awesome. I know draft express does some as well but I really like your style and commentary better.
BBALLBREAKDOWN do it coach
5:50 first floater i've seen without any extension of the arm oO looked like he lost control of the ball mid-air
This kid is gonna be a bust 100%
I think Not
King Peezyworld He's got flaws thatll affect him in the NBA. Make him go right and hes irrelevant, he has an awkward jump shot and his free throws are god awful for an "elite" 3 point shooter, better hope he turns into an elite defender if hes gonna hang with the rest of them. Def a bust, but id be happy to eat my own words if im wrong
Evil Westbrook you definitely will, he's young, he's got PLENTY of time to train and adjust
Evil Westbrook I think you meant his right not left but I think he's great at making layups on his right
Marcus Noble Yeah sure, heard that one too many times. This kid is just awkward, plain and simple and he's going to struggle adjusting, he shouldnt have this many flaws entering the NBA but hey. Lets keep hyping him up, his father is a head case and has been doing a good job doing so
why are you guys in the comment section so doubtful? hes coming in as a rookie which means he has so much time to develop his game lol
Treypole because we see this all the time and say the same thing. of course we could be wrong but if we see someone who obviously needs developing we are doubtful. just look at all the other bust
because people been poisoned by plays liker lebron curry and other greats coming out playing well their first year. people just idiots calling these young ass prospects busts after a first season. like gtfo
RaixVortex curry was good but didn't have a spotlight till he was about 26.
cobi wartes curry was injury player pretty much till his 3 or 4th year on top of played with Monte Ellis who was straight from HS and took more playing from him. Once Monte was traded away a season after was when he showed up, which was right time.
RaixVortex I agree, and not everyone is ELITE. Some players only player elite for periods of time too. I think Lonzo definitely has a chance to become a good NBA player, but he does have a lot of mechanical issues
Whoever drafts him is gonna have to deal with his dad's complaining about stuff like PT, why he isn't getting the ball a lot, etc.
Cam Gaines oh stfu he's a point guard he's going to have the ball all the time and he will play heavy minutes from the jump
Cam Gaines ikr
"better than curry" ofc he will get the ball, lmao that had me dying, not saying he won't surpass steph but it's just too far fetched right now
it will be just like fans complaining about it. they will not give a single fuck
Cam Gaines I'm worried his dad will try to be too involved
Magic's shot was not solid either when he came into the league. He was a big point guard with A+ passing vision. If the Lakers get Ball, he'll be trained by guess who??? Showtime 2.0 y'all!!!

BludAardvark Well magic wants him all obviously he knows more than you
BludAardvark yeah just the greatest big man of all time, Kareem
Lmao not anymore
UCLA 2016 vs UCLA 2017 is night and day. It's amazing how quickly people forget. Zo deserve way more recognition.
Watching this video again and it's amazing how accurate it was. Lonzo started off struggling a lot with his shooting but is slowly improving. Love this video man. Showed me some things I couldn't notice through raw highlights.
4 years he took his spot as one of the best guards in the nba
This has become the most accurate scouting report on the man in history.
he has higher ceiling than fultz
he screams potential. fultz is good now, but i cant seem him being on the level that lonzo will presumably be at in 4 years
Abdirhman Hassan
W
Abdirhman Hassan no he doesn't
ScopeY can you see through the future or some shit?
Nelly K you know what "presumably" means, kiddo?
Talk about a breakdown! Whoooaaa, BBall Breakdown really broke it down on this one. This is one of the best breakdown videos I have ever seen.
Why would you expect a player of his type to run the pick and roll when he comes from a bullshit offense in Chino Hills
bullshit offense that went undefeated
thats some high praise from coach nick. If we learned anything from the past, coach nick is really good at finding great prospects.
Wonderful attention to detail coach, very interesting to watch all the elements of his game you've picked up on. I balled for years and still wouldn't notice most of this stuff. Keep up the good work!
That shot. I'd at least try to tweak it a little bit. It seals a whole half of is game! He's still going to be really good though.
This breakdown is so good it made me like lonzo ball. Haven't seen anything like this in traditional media.
The man took 5 floaters all year and RARELY shoots the middy... you cant really say thats a part of his game. That and the P/R are his only glaring weaknesses imo. The defense will come with time. wow coach ! almost 400k views.
I have to say, good job, and congratulations !
Great video Coach Nick, you really break it down so well!
How are you not atleast a high school program coach? You know a ton about basketball man, and not just NBA facts and history but actual mechanical breakdowns of each player. Dope channel man keep at it!
Thank you coach nick. I love these videos
+Giovanni Herrera 💪🏀👍
Always appreciate your thoroughness coach. keep up the great analysis.
Awesome series keep up the good work
+TpolTime 💪🏀👍
Thanks for the video Harry's razors
From this, I don't watch NCAA basketball and even NBA is hard for me, Lonzo Ball could be a very good first year but with good coaching and physical development he could become a real deal and a star in the NBA
Totally agree with coach on the wrist flexion. Once I fixed that my accuracy improved so much.
Guess tanking was a bad idea hahaha. But also I do hope he will get better this coming season
Man I hope he not another MCW. He got a shot though so that is a plus
marem19 I was just thinking he reminds me a lot of MCW
Joe's Home Theater MCW was 3 years older, less athletic and couldn't shoot
The difference is MCW has never been good. Any scout that thought so was high.
Ha! Coach, that's quality advertisement in the beginning. Way better than throwing a screenshot of a smartphone app up there. Didn't see the ad coming.
professional and focused. well done.. go lakers
Lonzo+Simmons+Embiid=the future
J2Jx_3 im pretty sure lonzo gon be a laker
so its not happening. lol
3:54 still funny seeing him cook Bam Adebyo
7:53 one of the best ones in the nba
great video coach, could you also make a video on why players are resting so much these days? keep it going, i'm in
Coach Nick, you have THE BEST plugs for companies.. I wish you were more successful in terms of engagement
haha, thanks! And we keep growing, so...
That was a great plug of those razors. Nice shave 👌🏾
Hey coach, how bout a breakdown of the home & home series between the wizards and the raptors? 2 very different games and different outcomes. It'd be nice to hear about strategy adjustments

I hope he develops his game so he can be a consistent scorer in the NBA because I don't want him to be another Rondo.
Your shave is on point Coach 👍
+Johnny TheNets/Heat Fan haha, check Harry's out!!
thanks coach. I'll subscribe.
honestly I think hes perfect for the lakers. he could come in and play off russell and jc for the first year or two and then when hes ready start becoming a bigger and bigger threat in their offense

Reminds me of Jason kidd on California. With a shot that has a mixture of Kevin Martin and Tracy mcgrady release at certain angles of the three.
I like how you brought up how it might take him a little to get adjusted to the NBA most people think he will be amazing right away. This isnt to discredited Lonzo's game.
Imma get the razor because of your smooth transition
Damn it's amazing how much you got right so far.
I kind of shoot like lonzo ball. Mostly the feet alignment with less of a hitch in the release, but it's been since I was a kid. Most ballplayers and coaches I know told me to stop but I had the most rhythm that way.
Great analysis
This is his best commercial yet. Somebody hire this guy for a real shaving blade commercial.
This is the most unbiased review yet.

You're advertising shavers. Man, I love you
Can you do a video on the Cavs-Celtics game? Best game I've seen this season
great video
Interesting point about his shot and how it's harder for him to set up for it going through the right side of the screen.
+Omar Bertaiba yeah, and I'm not sure how much better he can get at it. But his adjustment is to cross over to the left then pull up. Possible that is enough
Shooting form reminds me of Kevin Martin
Cant wait for his first shoes to come out:
AirBall
finally an honest assessment of ball...
Smoothest sponsor transition I've ever seen.
Yeah.! Thanks coach.!
He's atlethic. He can shoot of the drible or catch and shoot and if nothing else he can really pass the ball. I'm not saying he's the next MVP but he's gonna be in the league for a long team as a starting pg.
Coach nick should tweet Lonzo this vid
Lonzo HAS to watch this.
Great breakdown. Is Dennis Smith Jr next?
Great breakdown Coach Nick never really thought about how he has no concept on the pick and roll or the free throw shooting because of all the other great things that he brings to the table. If he focus's on the fundamentals of being a pg this summer and really gets in the habit of those pick and rolls, pick and pops, Doesn't tryy to play outside of his position too much, and keeps the game simple with his good decision making. He will develop at a rapid rate.
Coach u be sneaky throwin us intro ads on us lol.
U were spot on
the big question is how will he develop a pull-up going to his right if his dominant shooting eye is his left eye (most right-handed players have a dominant right eye).
IMO when he tries to learn a right-handed pull-up, he better learn to turn his head to the extreme right so his left eye better aligns with the basket if his dominant shooting eye really is his left eye.
Please keep making these video at least for the top 5 projected
can you hear me shaking my head every time he sells out? LOL love the vids tho
He's got a lot of raw talent with a few rough edges. He's going to be a fine Lakers player.
He's gonna set this league on fire. He reminds me of a taller Jimmer Fredette
another thing I've noticed that improved my shot while standing still was lifting up on my toes. I was playing a best of ten with a guy two years ago. i made a lot more shots when I raised up on my toes than when i shot flat footed. you should incorporate that in your training coach.
+ThePrufessa try this: roll from your heels on to your toes. KD does this
Those ads for the video sponsors are so bad! Can you hear me shaking my head??!?
Earned a sub. This guy knows what he's talking about
+Kevin Durant welcome to the conversation
Thanks
Ball & DeAngelo 👀 That has potential to be a scary back court
lonzo is a team player and when he reach his level it's gone great
Well with Magic in front of Lakers, he can teach this kid how to work on his weekness!
One of my favorite quotes from Magic can apply here for Lonzo Ball: I might not be the best player, but I am the best winner!!!
smooth af coach
Rookie Zo is already an elite playmaker defender and rebounder
Elite ad transition coach :D :D
i love how he endorsed that product lol
Smooth shave more like smooth advertising. Keep em coming
Coach what do you think of Lauri Markkanen? I would love to see video about him
You're right Nick I was thinking about that clean ass shave
+powerfusev2 lol, alright!!
forgot to mention his rebound ability and put back dunks coach
+kent 💪🏀👍👍👍🏀🏀
can you make a video on how college stats translate to nba statistics
Lol that subtle advertising well played
i think LA needs him, he's kind of exciting to watch, he has mj size and speed, and almost air too.
Dawg he can't go right, can't run P&R, bad free throw shooter, and got a setpoint at the hip.... how he gone score lmfaoooo
Low set point isn't an issue - look at Steve Nash
BBALLBREAKDOWN it's not just that its low, it's not even centered/aligned and he can only pull up going left.... NBA defenders arent going for that
Nastradamus P He is an elite player. You have to watch him play live. trust me
You don't need to have a pullup game to be an offensive monster. Only shooting 3s and layups will almost always make you a more efficient and valuable player. It's a huge reason for Curry's rise to legend status.

It seems that u know exactly what you are talking about 👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾
I think Lonzo slows his game down because he does not want to show off among his team mates. Several times I'v seen him attempt a give and go but his teammates are not quick enough to return the ball for a drive, shot or alley oop.

Great analysis.
Loved the video Coach. if the Lakers get the #1 pick, who do you think they should draft?
