Hi Alex, I just discovered your channel a little while ago and I wanted to thank you for your insightful videos! I'm moving to Hanoi to teach English for the summer in May and your videos have been really helpful to me :)
Thanks for sharing all this information!! My fiance and I are planning to move to Da Nang, Vietnam in a couple months. These videos are SUPER helpful:)
Awesome thanks for sharing this, these type of cost breakdown vids are the best for my future travel plans. Question: Are the the beds softer in Vietnam, or are they rock hard like Thailand?
Yeah I love watching them myself. Figured they're useful. :) Haha yeah the beds are generally harder all over Asia. No exceptions here. At least in my room.
I'm moving to Vietnam in August to teach wooo. Is it easy/cheap to rent or buy bikes? Or motorcycles? What do you recommend for getting around and to school?
+wyotajo Not really, school is very academic and test based out here. High test scores and English speaking are valued much more highly than creativity. Just my uninformed observations. :)
Hi Alex, would you please check my CV? this is a passage from my CV.. is it ok? thank you! Future Plan: I love to work with children, parents and others. I am an energetic and enthusiastic Bachelor of Arts in English. In my previous job, I was a freelance ESL tutor and a substitute teacher at the elementary school in my hometown. I want to take your Trinity Cert. TESOL course to improve my skills in planning, listening, speaking to groups and ensure understanding. I would really like to extend these experiences to be a professional ESL teacher. I very much look forward to having an opportunity to meet you.
Jeziz you are the doppleganger of an old mate of mine, Jeff Tsoutsos here in Cape Town. Check it out and drop a jaw in amazement. @Alex please help me with contacts to find a pozzie, the agents are just too expensive and they trying to offload double story villas with pool and jacuzzi on me. Im looking for a modest 1 bedroom, clean shower and amenities to cook and wash clothes. Safe and away from street noise at night. Any help couzin please, much appreciated.
***** Thanks for typing all that out mate. Is your mate a non-native speaker/not a degree holder? I have a degree and can get a police check and am from England so I think Id be OK. However, I suppose anyone can get caught if who you teach for aren't following the rules. Would you agree that although the pay is less in Vietnam, the cost of living is much lower and you can save more in Vietnam than China? Cheers mate.
It´s the word people from 1st world countries who move to another country like to use for themselves instead of immigrant, as that has a connotation of poverty....
Thanks, Alex

hey @janesmith I am looking to go out to teach in Vietnam and my first choice is Da Nang did you ever move out there?
Also, have you thought about having a section on the application where teachers can look to live with one another?
tay ho room? that's the facebook group?
i'd definitely want to do the same as you did - splitting costs for a house
looooove this view on the terrace!
The rent is good, space is adequate but how do you share a small refrigerator with 6 people? I would not like climbing all the stairs.
Why do you guys move around so much?
Cool video, though I don't think I'd ever live in such house. What about mosquitoes in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh? :D
Hii.. Am from Africa and how do I get there to teach pls.Any agency to help me
That's a pretty nice place!

Hey Alex, is there a way i can go teach without a bachelor? i have college from canada, and I'm looking to go teach for a good experience!
Great!! Alex
wow, you got a good deal for that apartment
Do a lot of Vietnamese children learn to play instruments in school? Like, the violin?

Sounds good to me. Only part that should be changed is - "I want to take your Ninja Teacher 4 Week TESOL Course in Vietnam" and send it over to us. ;)
How do you meet people when you do slow traveling?
I like to teach English in Vietnam but i am not in Vietnam I am in africa

That's weird! Are you in Hanoi? I don't have any real estate agents contacts there at the moment but try the Facebook groups for some options.
I can't make my mind up about whether to teach in China, Thailand or Vietnam.

***** Nice one mate. Great information and advice, I appreciate it.
Forget Thailand... teaching there is not so easy as use to be. Thailand slowly become difficult to live .
have rental prices increased much since 2015?
good question. because im definitely looking to make a move overseas.
Ur living the life :) sorry we lost touch.
+Boothvleen Charles No worries, hope you're doing good too!
what does expats mean? not sure if I spelled that right...
people that live in a foreign country
It´s the word people from 1st world countries who move to another country like to use for themselves instead of immigrant, as that has a connotation of poverty....
it stands for "ex-patriot"
im assuming "ex-patriot" means one is no longer an active citizen but that doesn't make sense.
After Thailand, this looks awful for me.
