Coming back to the meaning of all the games it kinda goes into phases of life. (Counting persona 1&2) 1: learning to trust people and open your world to actually accept the identity you are given 2: learning to accept the bad things in your life but being able to forgive yourself and change the way you live life and work. 3: you experienced death and many tragedies and it just gets you down. But you must realize that the world goes on with or without you and you make your memories last. Time is precious and you use it to your fullest. That’s what you are here for. 4: you are so confused about the world and it’s seemingly endless information. Ruled also by emotions and ruled by the changing tide of right and wrong, you see through the half truth and lies to see what you really believe in 5: it’s finally time to break off the shackles of life that held you back. You needn’t worry about death and sadness but now must confront those who aren’t willing to support the just ideals you hope to strive for. So you take the stage and give people more choices and the ability to challenge unjust authority.
I think that Adachi would fail to recognize the first half of the verse; he sees everyone as selfish and isolated like him, neglecting to become a part of the "maze of relationships" of Inaba. Then again, that verse and Adachi are among my favorite quotes and characters, respectively, so I am a bit biased.
Life goes on with or without you, And "Life will change" as long as you let go and "get up and get out there". So "pursue your true self". Or you might meet your "last surprise."
Sometimes its good to hear engrish like this so you can question what they're actually saying. Like in Studio Backroom I thought "Feeling" was "Villain". I know that's not how it's supposed to work but its a different way than someone tryharding and getting syllables slowed down to molasses.
Probably the best Persona intro song (for me personally anyway, I do like Wake up, Get up, Get out there, Burn My Dread Shadow world, Soul Phrase, and others, but I think Pursuing My True Self is my favorite, it is what got into Persona and SMT as a whole)
