There are another couple of points you can give the crossbow to even the score. You can charge multiple crossbows and keep them in your hotbar. Then when you're ready to fire, you can cycle through them and pretty much rapid fire them. Bows, on the other hand, can't. Also, when charging and aiming the bow, you slow down, almost as if you're crouching. While the same does happen while charging the crossbow, you don't slow down after it's charged, meaning you could aim and sprint, if you really want to.
@@anonym7288 Why would you use arrows for mob farms when you can just use your hand or sword or whatever? In actual game play Bow is generally better, since, you know it can 1 shot mobs. I mean sure there are edge cases where you have full inventory of loaded crossbows you switch out to deal maximum ranged damage per second, but outside PVP contests, I don't think anyone would carry multiple crossbows. You only really need ranged weapons to kill skeletons, or creepers, so piercing and multi-shot don't really matter.

Having used crossbows from the Tinker's Construct mod, THIS is the primary reason why I prefer to use crossbows over regular bows. And the reason for this is tactical; if you get surprised by a mob while exploring, or get into any other situation where you only have a very brief window to shoot a target, the crossbow's ability to stored and ready to fire instantly can be a lifesaver. Bows can take too long to be ready to fire and slow you down when they're charged and ready to fire. The latter is especially important if you're ducking in and out of cover to avoid return fire.
The fireworks themselfs do pass through enemies before they explode I tried this several times its main use with the fireworks is like a flare gun in the game its still cool tho
racing gamer I agree. I still really enjoy the crossbow because it's always ready and I rarely need more than one shot anyway. if the shot doesn't kill the creeper then one swing will finish it off. good enough.
The enchanments determine the playstyle for both of these: Crossbows, with Multishot or Piercing and Quick Charge are for dealing with crowds of mobs and is also faster. The bow deals more damage per single arrow, with Power and Flame. If it's a boss battle, Bows are better. For hordes of mobs, Crossbows are better. They're good for different things they are used for, but the bow has the infinity enchantment and the crossbow didn't for balance issues.
Also, the crossbow is able to shoot fireworks, which, depending on the number of stars per firework, can 2-shot mobs AND deal area damage. Combined with multishot, its utility as a horde dealing weapon greatly increases. The only downside is the price of the fireworks.
infinity is the worse enchantment in the game, skeleton spawners are easy to make for literally an endless supplies of arrows (and bows) BUT the big part is that you cannot use tipped arrows with infinity so case closed
Piercing can also be considered a discount infinity, as arrows that penetrate and hit the terrain behind the target can be retrieved and reused later. You can also pair that with Mending.
ended crossbow with multi shot and quick charge will hit ender dragon allot faster even though you hit straight but 3 arrows has a higher chance to hitting ender dragon easily.

Use a power 5 bow and you can switch to your sword And even with quick charge 3 on a crossbow missing 1 shot... If your fighting someone with protection 2 they obviously will have something that will kill you faster than you can reload
LISTEN, TIPPED ARROWS (Enchanted) can be used INFINITELY with PIERCING IV, theoretically. . I would just like to add, the PIERCING enchantment is also like INFINITY enchantment in a way. If the piercing doesn't reach it's limit, you can pick it up again. True, you still need multiple arrows in your inventory for this to work, and you need to give effort in picking up arrows, BUT INFINITE TIPPED ARROWS BRO. Reusable Poison II, Harming II and Health II arrows. Just reaaaalllyyy too overpowered.

Bow has the advantage of a high firerate at a very low price. The addition of 2 iron ingots in order to get the crossbow, plus the lesser durability puts the CB at a disadvantage. Multiple loaded crossbows can be done, but it is expensive and impractical in survival mode. Damage wise, max damage is same for both, with only a +2-3 damage for minimum on the crossbow.
The crossbow having less durability makes no sense it has iron and a tripwire in the recipe while the bow has a string if this is the case I should be able to snap metal in half faster than I would a twig
The crossbow has a pretty fancy reel & hold mechanism for the bolts, which would surely put wear on the string (which the crossbow has less of in the recipe). It's not so much a matter of the iron breaking, but the string snapping. You can hear it stretch under the pressure when you draw out the crossbow, even.
Because of how hits work in minecraft, after taking damage, for a small amount of time, it has invulnerability and can't take damage from anything. Thats why multishot doesnt hit 3 arrows that do 10 damage each on mobs.
I quite agree. But when trying to find which one is better, you don't want it to end in a tie because then the argument would go on forever! Plus multi-shot is only at top-peak of Efficiency when you are fighting mobs. And I, personally would rather have Infinite arrows rather than 3 arrows per one Item/arrow. Then again, it kind of depends on the situation a bit as well. i'll let the rest of the "Re-pliers" do a bit of thinking on this one! But here is my OPINION Bows are good for going against some types of enemies, while crossbows are good for Ambushes and other types of enemies (this argument is very simaler to 'sword vs axe' back when 1.9 came out). Actually, there's a hidden (and huge) plus in the crossbow: It (more correctly, they) can be used the Blackbeard way. Get 3 or 4 crossbows, charge all of them and, when the time comes, shoot them until your target is down or you run out of charged crossbows. It's quite useful against powerful enemies when fighting in cover. It requires some coordination and maybe training, but it also gives you the chance of packing quite a punch at a distance and in a short period of time.
Im doing a archer class and is using BOTH. Bow for stronger enemies or single, than the crossbow for HERDS of enemies. P.S NOT MODDED NOR COMMAND BLOCKS, JUST VANILA
Piercing also goes through shields, and mobs have invincibility frames that prevent mobs from taking multiple hits at once, so multi-shot is meant to be used at medium range to damage multiple mobs.

I'm sure you would've mentioned it if you knew, but crossbows have been shown to keep their 'loaded and ready to fire' state until you click to release it, so you can load a hotbar full of crossbows and fire them all off in quick succession.

I find it odd how the multiple crossbows seems to be a valid argument for some people. It may be, but it’s extremely impractical, here’s why; -Crossbows are classified as tools. Tools take up 1 space in the inventory, in a survival sense, having 9 of the same tool would lessen your inventory space, which would be dumb, as that inventory space could be used for mined items instead of *8 more of the same damn weapon*. -Reload time doesn’t change; the more you load, the more you reload. Crossbows are only useful in specific situations. Bows are a very good emergency weapon as you can spam it to knock back mobs. If we put enchantments into the picture, bow would completely BUTCHER the crossbow as the Infinity, Power, Punch and Flame enchantments make the bow even more formidable than the crossbow, whose enchantments only help with groups of enemies (which isn’t as effective either). Let’s see why the crossbow’s enchantments are dumb. 1. Piercing: Only helpful if mobs are back to back 2. Multishot: Weaker than piercing, only being able to hit 3 mobs 3. Quick charge Actually this one is the only ok one. Being able to shoot fireworks is also not helpful, as fireworks explode at a specific distance and not upon impact of the enemy.
but also spamming the bow still does no damage what so ever and having more of the same wepon isnt dumb from that survival point of your's u said it takes up space but infinity is the only bow enchant that saves space and i would never ever put punch on the same bow as my power bow. next cross bows enchants of multi is gud in perspective if there are 3 creppers on me and them i have my regular bow that does no damage cause im spamming like you said but id rather wait less then a second and do at least 9 damage points to each of them and perseing is bad correct. but the bow has so meny more enchants and the cross isnt even done yet and can be tweaked and fixed but rn a crossbow and bow are equal for if im hitting range i want a cross if i want to do no damage spam ill use my bow but even better ill just use a bow im my off hand and a cross in my reg BOOM problem solved
TheEman Gaming Both piercing and multishot are very flawed, which I understand as they are new. The point you’re making is how spamming a bow does not damage, that’s the point, it’s not for damage, it’s for the knockback, bows can reach where swords can’t, but deals as much knockback as a normal punch, the key here is keeping mobs at range, not killing them. Plus, look at this video and see how fast fully charging a bow is compared to a crossbow, not that slow, you can still properly spam if your finger has the right timing.
Valpurgis Tachyon You see, crossbows also take arrows as ammunition. They’d take as much arrows as a normal bow would, 128 arrows, plus the two crossbows you mentioned is still more space than 1 bow. But yes, power spikes are very important in 1v1 combat but not in survival situations, and as I said, I didn’t want to include enchantments into the picture as that would be even more of an advantage for the bow. But both weapons have their preferable situations, it just so happens that bows are easily more reliable in many situations, but that doesn’t mean there aren’t situations where the crossbow will come in handy. You make a good point otherwise.

Multishot makes me think of the Ethereal Crossbow from Heretic. I always used that more for multi-target crowd control than to focus a sole target. Especially since I never use autoaim. Piercing is _really_ good against illager patrols too.
with all enchants I'd say crossbow is better pvp and pve and I know that bow can have Infinity but that means you can't have mending on it and arrows are easier to get rather than grinding for xp and for a anvil and in the end the xp cost will be so high that you will just have to make a other bow with all the same enchants which will take about 1 straight week of grinding non stop
I don't think multi shot was intended for shooting a single mob with a load of arrows, I'm pretty sure multi shot is meant for crowd control, you can fire into a large crowd and hit a bunch of targets at once.

I'd say if you combine Multishot with fireworks it'd be pretty deadly. Fireworks deal splash damage if they can explode, they have more area with the Large Ball effect. You can cover a large area in damage combining all of them, multishot also saves fireworks if you just want to use them for show.
A crossbow is literally a sniper, u can run with it and keep it reloaded in you inventory, you can also use it as an rpg just use bombs (fireworks), you can also use the firework feature to kill Ender men.

@@Joloham Yeah, both have their perks, but if you have a good bow (and a bit of experience with it) there's no need for a crossbow. Long range can be solved by just shooting further up and predicting the arch of the arrow so it goes further, the chances of hitting multiple targets with piercing is _very_ slim, and you don't need it to stay loaded if you know when and where to reel back your bow. The crossbow takes longer to pull back without fancy enchantments. It has less durability. Its enchantments are rarely useful. The rapidfire trick is cool, but not worth the reload time. The bow doesn't take long to pull back, even when unenchanted. It has more durability. Its enchantments allow for things like infinite arrows, the ability to catch your target on fire, and more, none of which take very specific circumstances to be useful like that of the crossbow's. So if you have a good bow and know how to use it, I find it to be optimal over a crossbow. You can have your own preferences though.
The most important thing to note about the bow is that with Power V it will insta kill most mobs and with Power V and Flame II can one hit (not insta) kill zombies. The crossbow will never be able to reach this much damage, even if using a firework with 7 firework stars.
Yes everyone who sees this comment I know I'm 9 months late to the party but I just feel like putting a few things out there. The bow is useful for boss monsters like the ender dragon and wither while the crossbow is more used for normal mobs. For PvP you ideally want both to use like 3 crossbows all loaded for initial burst damage and a bow for consistent damage. In the video he uses multishot wrong completely, mobs will only be damaged by the middle arrow if you hit them with more than one. Piercing and multishot are great for taking out groups of mobs but piercing is way more situational. Also you can't have both enchantments on one crossbow. The crossbow can be loaded to deal explosive damage which a lot of players don't enchant to deal with unless they are specifically fighting the wither. You can run with a loaded crossbow vs a bow drawn back will slow you down. Iron is not hard to get both are early game weapons. Yes crossbows can't get infinity on them but if you want mending on a bow it can't either so a god bow doesn't use infinity. Crossbows can't get power on them for the sole reason of you can have NINE loaded at once ready to instantly fire. Overall both are balanced and compliment each other well, Mojang did a good job on them making them in the game. Last note, again bows are for high consistent damage while xbow is for high burst damage.

A crossbow is the biggest waste of space... ...but I do like fireworks... ...but you could've just added firework shots to the bow... ...everything could've been added to the bow and the bow would finally be popular... ...I love the bow.

The reason multishot dosent one shot creepers is because all mobs have a short invincibility timer which is why it took 3 multishot hits to kill a single creeper.

Idea for the devs: Have the shield and a quiver be interchangeable. The quiver can hold a stack of arrows and be enchanted for extra storage, maybe be enchanted for knockback or fire aspect, etc.
Do you know you can do up to 9 hearts of damage from a firework from a crossbow if it has added all the firework stars to the firework, to make one big and deadly explosion So a quick charge 3 crossbow with a powerful explosion is about as good as a power 5 bow
I love the bow and all, but the crossbow should be better then the bow in every way except for reload speed. The bow was one of the advancements in medieval technology that killed the use of bows.
The diamond sword is better in durability, close fighting (sweeping edge), faster hitting (new combat). Trident have more attack damage, you can throw it, but hard to get it back, enchants can fix a lot of things about them so.. They are have pros and cons. But in my opinion the diamond sword is better ::)
9:08 correct me if i’m wrong, but i’m pretty sure multishot is for groups of mobs. Because you can’t hit something twice at the same time, same as how you use a sword no matter how fast you click, there will always be a delay in your hits.
You mentioned that you can shoot fireworks, but forget that fireworks can actually be weaponized in this manner. A firework shot from a crossbow deals explosive damage on impact, scaling with the number of firework stars are on the rocket. They're supposed to fly until their fuse runs out or they hit a mob. With 7 stars, you can easily 2-shot mobs, and that can hit groups of mobs too.
Can someone explain why he gave the bow another point when the multishot didn't help the crossbows damage? The bow was already winning in damage because of the power enchantment I don't think it's fair to give it an extra point because multishot didn't beat it
Multishot doesn't work in that way, an entity (when becomes red) takes damage by only 1 thing, 3 arrows makes the same amout of damage as of 1 arrow. This is why people use Piercing IV and not multishot.
wow you missed so many things: flame, punch , load crossbow in inventory, burning them as fuel (useless), bows are dropped by skeletons, and crossbow with fire works do damage.
The biggest deal breaker for me is the crossbow cannot be enchanted with infinity, and I’d rather not worry about carrying around arrows with me at all times.
Some stuff missed about the crossbow: 1. with piercing, arrows that don't hit their max. number of mobs will land on the ground and can be picked up, making it a discount version of infinity. 2. with a 7-star firework, the crossbow can do 17 damage in a small radius, which makes it the most effective AOE weapon in the game.
How I view the crossbow & bow: Crossbow: used for horde mobs (like zombies/pigmen) and just unloading a bunch of arrows, which is good if you're not the best aim. Bow: great for high damage value and ammo reservation, so if you're fighting something with a lot of health, you can not worry about ammo another thing worth noting is that the crossbow feels more accurate in my opinion, (I was able to nail all the ender crystals in the end on my first try)

Things to consider with the duel: Crossbow damage is randomized between a minimum and maximum damage. More of the times it deals the higher end damage with an average of 9 damage with maximum being 11 and minimum being 6 i think. Multishot works with firework too so it fires 3 fireworks and only uses 1. The infinity enchantment does not work with tipped arrows. Best way to put it is, crossbow is better for "everyday" use fighting off hordes and bow is better for bosses :) Oh also you can pre-load a crossbow which basically means if you always pre-load you only need to load once. Being able to kill hordes with only 1 load is really sweet :3

Bows can take too long to be ready to fire and slow you down when they're charged and ready to fire. The latter is especially important if you're ducking in and out of cover to avoid return fire.

The enchanments determine the playstyle for both of these:
Crossbows, with Multishot or Piercing and Quick Charge are for dealing with crowds of mobs and is also faster. The bow deals more damage per single arrow, with Power and Flame.
If it's a boss battle, Bows are better. For hordes of mobs, Crossbows are better.
They're good for different things they are used for, but the bow has the infinity enchantment and the crossbow didn't for balance issues.
Also, the crossbow is able to shoot fireworks, which, depending on the number of stars per firework, can 2-shot mobs AND deal area damage. Combined with multishot, its utility as a horde dealing weapon greatly increases. The only downside is the price of the fireworks.
infinity is the worse enchantment in the game, skeleton spawners are easy to make for literally an endless supplies of arrows (and bows) BUT the big part is that you cannot use tipped arrows with infinity so case closed

Bow has the advantage of a high firerate at a very low price. The addition of 2 iron ingots in order to get the crossbow, plus the lesser durability puts the CB at a disadvantage. Multiple loaded crossbows can be done, but it is expensive and impractical in survival mode. Damage wise, max damage is same for both, with only a +2-3 damage for minimum on the crossbow.
Goat Scientist enchantments are out of the argument as they are difficult to acquire in survival.

The crossbow has a pretty fancy reel & hold mechanism for the bolts, which would surely put wear on the string (which the crossbow has less of in the recipe). It's not so much a matter of the iron breaking, but the string snapping. You can hear it stretch under the pressure when you draw out the crossbow, even.

Actually, there's a hidden (and huge) plus in the crossbow: It (more correctly, they) can be used the Blackbeard way. Get 3 or 4 crossbows, charge all of them and, when the time comes, shoot them until your target is down or you run out of charged crossbows.
It's quite useful against powerful enemies when fighting in cover. It requires some coordination and maybe training, but it also gives you the chance of packing quite a punch at a distance and in a short period of time.
Im doing a archer class and is using BOTH. Bow for stronger enemies or single, than the crossbow for HERDS of enemies.

Piercing also goes through shields, and mobs have invincibility frames that prevent mobs from taking multiple hits at once, so multi-shot is meant to be used at medium range to damage multiple mobs.

I'm sure you would've mentioned it if you knew, but crossbows have been shown to keep their 'loaded and ready to fire' state until you click to release it, so you can load a hotbar full of crossbows and fire them all off in quick succession.

I find it odd how the multiple crossbows seems to be a valid argument for some people. It may be, but it’s extremely impractical, here’s why;
-Crossbows are classified as tools. Tools take up 1 space in the inventory, in a survival sense, having 9 of the same tool would lessen your inventory space, which would be dumb, as that inventory space could be used for mined items instead of *8 more of the same damn weapon*.
-Reload time doesn’t change; the more you load, the more you reload.
Crossbows are only useful in specific situations. Bows are a very good emergency weapon as you can spam it to knock back mobs.
If we put enchantments into the picture, bow would completely BUTCHER the crossbow as the Infinity, Power, Punch and Flame enchantments make the bow even more formidable than the crossbow, whose enchantments only help with groups of enemies (which isn’t as effective either).
Let’s see why the crossbow’s enchantments are dumb.
1. Piercing:
Only helpful if mobs are back to back
2. Multishot:
Weaker than piercing, only being able to hit 3 mobs
3. Quick charge
Actually this one is the only ok one.
Being able to shoot fireworks is also not helpful, as fireworks explode at a specific distance and not upon impact of the enemy.

TheEman Gaming Both piercing and multishot are very flawed, which I understand as they are new. The point you’re making is how spamming a bow does not damage, that’s the point, it’s not for damage, it’s for the knockback, bows can reach where swords can’t, but deals as much knockback as a normal punch, the key here is keeping mobs at range, not killing them. Plus, look at this video and see how fast fully charging a bow is compared to a crossbow, not that slow, you can still properly spam if your finger has the right timing.
Valpurgis Tachyon You see, crossbows also take arrows as ammunition. They’d take as much arrows as a normal bow would, 128 arrows, plus the two crossbows you mentioned is still more space than 1 bow. But yes, power spikes are very important in 1v1 combat but not in survival situations, and as I said, I didn’t want to include enchantments into the picture as that would be even more of an advantage for the bow. But both weapons have their preferable situations, it just so happens that bows are easily more reliable in many situations, but that doesn’t mean there aren’t situations where the crossbow will come in handy. You make a good point otherwise.

Multishot makes me think of the Ethereal Crossbow from Heretic. I always used that more for multi-target crowd control than to focus a sole target. Especially since I never use autoaim.
Piercing is _really_ good against illager patrols too.
I am a bit of an opportunist. Found a chest in a village with tripwire mechanism, built a crossbow, haven't turned back.
with all enchants I'd say crossbow is better pvp and pve and I know that bow can have Infinity but that means you can't have mending on it and arrows are easier to get rather than grinding for xp and for a anvil and in the end the xp cost will be so high that you will just have to make a other bow with all the same enchants which will take about 1 straight week of grinding non stop

I'd say if you combine Multishot with fireworks it'd be pretty deadly. Fireworks deal splash damage if they can explode, they have more area with the Large Ball effect. You can cover a large area in damage combining all of them, multishot also saves fireworks if you just want to use them for show.
A crossbow is literally a sniper, u can run with it and keep it reloaded in you inventory, you can also use it as an rpg just use bombs (fireworks), you can also use the firework feature to kill Ender men.
The fireworks can't blow blocks up though.

@@Joloham Yeah, both have their perks, but if you have a good bow (and a bit of experience with it) there's no need for a crossbow. Long range can be solved by just shooting further up and predicting the arch of the arrow so it goes further, the chances of hitting multiple targets with piercing is _very_ slim, and you don't need it to stay loaded if you know when and where to reel back your bow.
The crossbow takes longer to pull back without fancy enchantments. It has less durability. Its enchantments are rarely useful. The rapidfire trick is cool, but not worth the reload time.
The bow doesn't take long to pull back, even when unenchanted. It has more durability. Its enchantments allow for things like infinite arrows, the ability to catch your target on fire, and more, none of which take very specific circumstances to be useful like that of the crossbow's.
So if you have a good bow and know how to use it, I find it to be optimal over a crossbow.
You can have your own preferences though.

The most important thing to note about the bow is that with Power V it will insta kill most mobs and with Power V and Flame II can one hit (not insta) kill zombies. The crossbow will never be able to reach this much damage, even if using a firework with 7 firework stars.

Yes everyone who sees this comment I know I'm 9 months late to the party but I just feel like putting a few things out there.
The bow is useful for boss monsters like the ender dragon and wither while the crossbow is more used for normal mobs.
For PvP you ideally want both to use like 3 crossbows all loaded for initial burst damage and a bow for consistent damage.
In the video he uses multishot wrong completely, mobs will only be damaged by the middle arrow if you hit them with more than one.
Piercing and multishot are great for taking out groups of mobs but piercing is way more situational. Also you can't have both enchantments on one crossbow.
The crossbow can be loaded to deal explosive damage which a lot of players don't enchant to deal with unless they are specifically fighting the wither.
You can run with a loaded crossbow vs a bow drawn back will slow you down.
Iron is not hard to get both are early game weapons.
Yes crossbows can't get infinity on them but if you want mending on a bow it can't either so a god bow doesn't use infinity.
Crossbows can't get power on them for the sole reason of you can have NINE loaded at once ready to instantly fire.
Overall both are balanced and compliment each other well, Mojang did a good job on them making them in the game.
Last note, again bows are for high consistent damage while xbow is for high burst damage.

Idea for the devs: Have the shield and a quiver be interchangeable. The quiver can hold a stack of arrows and be enchanted for extra storage, maybe be enchanted for knockback or fire aspect, etc.

The diamond sword is better in durability, close fighting (sweeping edge), faster hitting (new combat). Trident have more attack damage, you can throw it, but hard to get it back, enchants can fix a lot of things about them so.. They are have pros and cons. 9:08 correct me if i’m wrong, but i’m pretty sure multishot is for groups of mobs. Because you can’t hit something twice at the same time, same as how you use a sword no matter how fast you click, there will always be a delay in your hits.
You mentioned that you can shoot fireworks, but forget that fireworks can actually be weaponized in this manner. A firework shot from a crossbow deals explosive damage on impact, scaling with the number of firework stars are on the rocket. They're supposed to fly until their fuse runs out or they hit a mob. With 7 stars, you can easily 2-shot mobs, and that can hit groups of mobs too.

Can someone explain why he gave the bow another point when the multishot didn't help the crossbows damage? The bow was already winning in damage because of the power enchantment I don't think it's fair to give it an extra point because multishot didn't beat it
Multishot doesn't work in that way, an entity (when becomes red) takes damage by only 1 thing, 3 arrows makes the same amout of damage as of 1 arrow.
This is why people use Piercing IV and not multishot.
wow you missed so many things: flame, punch , load crossbow in inventory, burning them as fuel (useless), bows are dropped by skeletons, and crossbow with fire works do damage.
The biggest deal breaker for me is the crossbow cannot be enchanted with infinity, and I’d rather not worry about carrying around arrows with me at all times.
Some stuff missed about the crossbow:
1. with piercing, arrows that don't hit their max. number of mobs will land on the ground and can be picked up, making it a discount version of infinity.
2. with a 7-star firework, the crossbow can do 17 damage in a small radius, which makes it the most effective AOE weapon in the game.
How I view the crossbow & bow:
Crossbow: used for horde mobs (like zombies/pigmen) and just unloading a bunch of arrows, which is good if you're not the best aim.
Bow: great for high damage value and ammo reservation, so if you're fighting something with a lot of health, you can not worry about ammo
another thing worth noting is that the crossbow feels more accurate in my opinion, (I was able to nail all the ender crystals in the end on my first try)
The Crossbow is indeed more accurate and has a longer range, as it fires Arrows at a higher velocity than Normal Bows do
@@theshermantanker7043 ok, that's different from my results in which they were almost the same, but bow doesn't shoot perfectly, it has a half block per chunk (or something like that) mistake percentage, i think crossbow is better in that

Other plus of crossbow is that it can stay loaded in the eq while the bow cant, that means if you go to the fight witch preloaded crossbows you will have at least 4 quick shots
Things to consider with the duel: Crossbow damage is randomized between a minimum and maximum damage. More of the times it deals the higher end damage with an average of 9 damage with maximum being 11 and minimum being 6 i think. Multishot works with firework too so it fires 3 fireworks and only uses 1. The infinity enchantment does not work with tipped arrows. Best way to put it is, crossbow is better for "everyday" use fighting off hordes and bow is better for bosses :)
Oh also you can pre-load a crossbow which basically means if you always pre-load you only need to load once. Being able to kill hordes with only 1 load is really sweet :3
A bow does have Better enchantments while A crossbow has alot of course features like keeping an arrow loaded and you can shoot fireworks
