along with the fact he just fucking... decided it was easier to create happy wheels from scratch instead of doing the sane thing and either asking someone to decompile it or decompiling the game himself? (i do not know how it works at all. i may just be wrong.)
@Rustylorde Depends on if you are doing the flash version or the modern version. There are already tools for decompiling flash games but the modern one uses JavaScript, if you check the code on a browser a lot of things have their names changed to single letters so you end up having to figure out what "a" or "b" even means, and thats only for the dependencies like the physics library it uses (Box2D or something). The actual code is completely unreadable and extremely long, there is over 1.3 million characters and like 1.2 million of them is just one massive string with jumbled characters. So you dont need to "decompile" the modern version since the code is technically there, but clearly its obfuscated which is intended to make getting the human readable version much harder.
There is some stuff you can find online that has it de-obfuscated like "OpenWheels" but even that is still being updated (just last week) and it has the issue with things being named single letters still. You of course need to know JavaScript also, while you can likely understand a lot of it from knowing C# its not the same so will still require more effort.

@Rustylorde spending most of a video remaking a game just to have like a few minutes of actually training AI on it is a staple for his channel, I don't think he'd do it any other way even if it's easier.

You can't always license the music you want. And the youtube license detection system is deliberately malicious and will strike you anyway if any other performances of that song exist with a different licensor, so it's mostly pointless.

ok so the reason the boy blew up but not the dad is unironically because the dad had his arms and springy torso as suspension to dampen the sudden jolts and the boy:tm: was rigidly attacked to the bike so he got newton's cradled. I believe in the original game there's a tiny spring sorta thing connecting the bike to the seat instead of it being rigidly connected for that reason

The reason why 18:40 looks like a fluid simulation... is because it is, in a way! Brownian motion is essentially individual particles moving mostly randomly while the whole moves mostly predictably, which is exactly what the AI's backpropagation does in this game!
