most of the V8 commenters are driving 4 cylinder cars or not even have one. I am planning to get V6 charger because I had enough speed and crossing red signal fines. In Dubai they dont take it easy when you make anything against the rules
Got an 06 SRT...not even gonna waste my time smokin a v6. Lol i can almost see the 5.7 not bein driven right to make people think the v6 is close to a v8...other than that, the guy that says that has a v6 and is just tryin to make it cool...😂🤦🏾♂️😂👍🏽
Hope you ended up getting one! Got My son a 16 Charger SVX. Super nice ride. Solid power. It’s the dark gray metallic with Black wheels and tinted windows. Looks sharp! He loves it but of course looks forward to upgrading in a few years to a 5.7
Just drive what ever the hell you want to drive and be proud you own a damn car. Most people would dream of driving a Dodge Charger and could car less what motor is in it.
All good points. I bought my 2017 Charger SXT mainly for the AWD component. I just couldn't convince myself that driving my family around in a powerful RWD muscle car in New England snow was a responsible choice. I have AWD in cold or rainy conditions, and RWD on nice days. And, this is easily the most powerful car I've ever owned. No regrets here. This car MORE THAN meets my needs.
My 2015 sxt cost 16k and tuning it will cost me 10k total 26k that's as much as a RT So for 26k I will have 500 horse power 19 miles per gallon My insurance won't be as high And when a v8 takes on my v6 and I just take off that's just the icing on the cake
Hey i got a V6 challenger last year got it cheaper than a V8 RT saved 4grand added a spoiler tinted the windows and it looks great... used the cash for school ... worked out in the end for me..
All good reasons. The V6 has 300 hp which is plenty for any kind of real world driving. People in the 80s and 90s drove sedans of this size with 150 hp V8 engines and they were great cars.
I'm buying a V6 today. My biggest reason was price, price, price. I can technically afford a V8 if i REALLY wanted to, but the price was more than i wanted to pay, and i don't wanna fill up on gas every 2-3 days since my commute is an hour everyday for work. I also have rent, utilities, water, cell phone, internet, car insurance, health/dental insurance, student loan debt and other miscellaneous bills. I have my own apartment and my own car and i pay for everything myself. A lot of V8 owners live with their parents. So if you ask me, i'm the one doing better in life.
^^This guy knows what he’s talking about. I drive a 300 with the newer 3.6L V6, and its more than enough power, considering my commute doesn’t allow for me to open up the throttle very much anyway. There would be times when the V8 would be fun, but most of the time the V8 would just give me empty bragging rights.
Mike Gee I bought my 2013 300S AWD V6 not ‘because it’s what I could afford’. I can afford a Hellcat if I wanted one, but here in Massachusetts I couldn’t see the point. I wanted something I can drive year-round. And with 300hp and 260lb/ft of torque, it’s plenty fast.
Some people buy them as family cars. It is one of the biggest sedans on the market and the only sedan i found that could fit a double stroller in the trunk comfortably while still having room for other things. People hate on them but they're still fast, i love driving mine and at the end of the day I've got a full size sedan big enough to carry two carseats in the back without having to move my seat forward, i can easily fit a double stroller in the trunk and i didn't break the bank doing it. Makes sense to me
My sister in law have a 2018 charger sxt 3.6L it’s fast for 292HP but I Drove a 2015 charger Rally edition 3.6L with 300HP those 8extra hp makes a big difference that Rally Edition is way faster then the stock SXT...
The reason I got a V6 Charger (2018 GT Plus Blacktop pakage) was because I live in Michigan so AWD is a must. I’m 18 and a college student and only pay $250 a month on a 2018 Charger. It’s the perfect daily not too slow or not too fast I love it
You know, I love all your videos but this is is extra awesome. This helps a lot with how much gas and insurance will cost, what type of car i should get depending on my driving situation, the packages I can get, and I really like the kind of Vlog style camera placing with you driving while talking through the vid. Keep up the good work
I have a v6 charger shit hits hard on the free way if i was to get a v8 id have tons of tickets by now v6 chargers aren't bad they still pull speed i dont regret buying the v6 V8 theres really no point its not like your gana be racing it daily
my 2007 V6 Charger will get me through high school, nobody at my school drives a Charger and I wanted to stand out...that and all the R/Ts I found either had bad oil leaks or frame damage...I could afford an R/T but I'm not dealing with an oil leak
I originally got a V6 because of the price. No surprise there. But after switching directly from an 04 civic dx (cheapest and slowest model) I was glad that i didn't have the extra money because the power difference felt pretty insane. Overall it's a fun car and I love it, but I definitely want to get a v8 model charger in the distant future. But again, it was definitely the price point that made me get a V6.
I somewhat agree with the reasons stated for owning a V6. I own a 2015 V6 Mustang and yes price had something to do with it but the performance believe it or not did too. My car is slightly modified and I'm getting around 350 HP. With my power to weight ratio I have raced many Charger and Challenger R/Ts and have won. You don't need a V8 to be fast. I have less than $2000 invested in my car in upgrades so it's really not that expensive either to get the performance you want.
If I buy a V6, then it's "why didn't you buy a V8?" If I buy a V8, then it's "why didn't you buy a V10?" If I buy a V10, then it's "why didn't you buy a fighter jet?" It will never end.
I just bought my 2nd V6 Charger. I buy them because I’m 6’4” and they are the most comfortable cars I’ve ever driven. V6 is more practical as a daily driver.
Price is a major reason, also I'm not racing anyone so I don't need a v8. lol Besides like you said other sedans with similar pricing are way under powered. I'm happy with my SXT and people can say what they want. I'm planing on getting a Camaro soon with a V8, I like Dodge, but If I'm going to spend upwards of 20k on a car it's gonna either be a Challenger, Camaro or Mustang.
Dan O Qam Yasharahla Booo on you for even considering a Craparo. I bet of you woukd jave bought an RT you wouldnt even be considering switching cars....so how much is being cheap gonna cost ya in the long run? And if you think you didnt regret buying the sxt ....why are you wanting a v8 craparo? You would just buy the v6 you know.because you aren't racing anybody and you love your v6? Not trying to be an ass but just giving you what i read from your comment. "MAN I SHOULD OF BOUGHT THE RT!"
I bought a Charger because I like the look. I bought a V6 because I drive a lot and wanted gas mileage and did not want to spend $15K for sound. If you buy a V8 Charger or Challenger to win street races you better live in Dodgeville because you will not want to be taking on the comparable Mustangs and Camaro's.
Marspeed I’m not sure about up there, but down in the US, retired police Chargers are pretty common. I found mine with the 5.7 for just $5k at a dinky little car lot. Granted it was a 2006 and had some problems, and I assume you’d want to upgrade from an 09, but if you’d choose a V8 over the features of a newer car, that may be a good route. That’s what I did. Doug DeMuro would certainly be able to get a decently long video on my car’s quirks, but I love it anyway. lol
Cool Vid! I have a 2011 3.6 Charger and I love it. I am about to buy a tuning programmer to boost performance. I like the idea of people underestimating my car, "It's not even a Hemi!" Yeah, but has 350 HP
I had 2017 Dodge Challenger RT shaker and I down grade to 2019 challenger GT AWD.. why? I live in Vancouver where we get lots of rain and snow, and we have the the most expensive insurance and very expensive gas. Owning a V6 is not bad like what ppl think. Some ppl wants the look of a muscle car and it is really fun and cool to drive one, V6 or V8. Not everyone wants fast, some people wants looks and some are practical.
Larcon Pritzle They all do, I mean if it was an srt or high package it would be a different story. But I can tell you know nothing about these cars, The trans is not going to "fall out if you launch it, there's no such thing as wrong wheel drive, is300 is not out dated not to mention it a has a 2jz in it, and a g35 is no where near built terribly and not as close as heavy as a charger.
I just bought a 2013 300 v6 and im fixing to send it off to have a supercharger put in it. I bought it because i dont want to pay extra on insurance and monthly payment. Even after supercharger itll cost less than a v8 same year fully loaded and after paying to put supercharger still save 2k vs v8. So i get the fun drive, luxury, save money, and something my wife can still drive without killing herself.
I agree, I may not have dodge car but Chevy Monte Carlo was cheap, good gas milage, cheap insurance, and some cool features that I wouldn't have gotten if I got a v8 Monte Carlo
One of the reasons why I would buy a V6 Charger over a V8. Just to piss off those people who say "All V6 cars are dumb ideas and never should have been made" and just roll past them at 2500 RPM.
Yeah mostly more practical as well, a lot of the extra horsepower in the V8 goes unused anyways. Save yourself the speeding tickets as well lol. But I mean if you're doing illegal street racing circuit, or track racing, or what it may be, then by all means get the 6.1L V8 Hemi
I think a 2013 V6 Mustang 3.7 with 3.73 gears and a 6-speed manual is like the perfect daily driver. RWD, reliable, fun as hell, good on fuel and can run an honest 13 second 1/4 mile. I have the 5.0 V8 but I also have a 4 banger daily. Most people don't have a daily, obviously. V6 muscle cars are not the same as the mid 90s versions. The V6 Camaro 1LE is nuts. Only very insecure people would shit on somebody who owned a 6 cyl Camaro/Mustang/Challenger or something similar.
I got my v6 mainly for the winters I have here in Canada, got AWD and also cuz a Daytona is out of my budget If they had a Daytona in AWD id make the money sacrifice and get that shit. I seriously don't wanna get stuck in my slopped drive way in the morning for work during a snow storm
Great video and all valid comments. Dodge is giving crazy deals right now to clear out the 2019s. I got a brand new Challenger SXT for just 21K. As you said...money well spent instead of buying some boring little car for that 21K. Also, as you also said, the V6 is faster than at least 85% of the cars on the road. I grew up and drove some of the old muscle cars from the '60s and '70s. I owned a 1972 Gran Torino 351, a 1969 Two Door Galaxie 500 390, a 1971 Pontiac Lemans Sport 400 convertible with manual transmission, and a 73 Nova SS 350, and the SXT is faster than all of them. It is just the way things are today, that modern muscle cars are insanely powerful, and a V6 is considered "slow". Not so, when put in context. The 1968 Dodge R/T 440 was slightly slower 0 to 60 and in the 1/4 mile than the Challenger SXT. Back in the day, the goal of every guy was to get his car down into the 14s at the drag. The SXT runs in the 14s. So, I am very happy with the power. I do not street race anymore, and I don't want to get in an accident or lose my license. Therefore, the V6 looks awesome, costs less, and I love it. The final point is just the looks. You might be sitting next to a red hot WRX STI or Honda Civic Type R that is faster than your SXT, but when the hot chick comes out of the club...what car do you think she wants to ride in? :)
You’re so insecure about your V6 you’re comparing it to 1970. You spent $21,000 on a v6. Why would you even get a Dodge if you’re not gonna get a Hemi.
I got a RWD 2017 charger sxt plus, gf has a scatpack widebody Challenger She definitely has to pay more, when i ask her too "wanna go on some trips" she sometimes say no due to gas, and im like "we can take my car lol"
I bought my 2007 V6 Magnum in 2009.... It was a unsold car from a dodge dealer that went out of business. Since it left their lot, they had to sell it as a “used” car. So my choice was buy a used car with a Hemi or a basically brand new (had 600 miles on it) car that happened to have a V6... Gas mileage wasn’t a factor...
I've super charged my 2013 sxt Challenger and have a bourla catback and have beaten several v8 cars including my dad's mustang so I don't care that "it's still just a v6"
The modern V6 sports coups and Charger are great for people with long commutes on open freeways. They are decent on fuel, insurance, and are a lot sturdier than a front wheel drive shit box.
GOOD FOR YOU BUD NOTHING WRONG WITH A V6 BRO TOSS A HOOD SCOOPS AND SOME MAGS ON IT OR WHAT EVER YOU WANT. THE V6 PUTS OUT MORE POWER THEN THE OLD CHARGERS DID BACK IN THE 70S I HAVE HAD BOTH AND I JUST GOT MY WIFE A NEW DURANGO WITH THE 3.6 20 MPG ALL DAY LONG HER 2013 HEMI COULD NOT GET 13 MPG . TELL ALL THE HATERS TO KISS YOUR ASS
"I wanted to save on fuel economy so I bought a 3,996 pound v6 car instead of a tiny little honda from the 90s that would actually get great milage". "I don't give a shit about the v8 so I bought a car known for having a v8". "I wanted a lower cost of insurance so I bought a 3.6L engine instead of some tiny little four cylinder that would actually have low insurance cost". "I wanted to beat v8s with my v6 so I bought a big American bitch instead of some light Japanese dancer". I didn't ask anyone to defend their choice if a v6 charger makes you happy so be it and don't bother giving a damn what I or anyone thinks of you, (I drive an automatic honda accord with a f23a1, my car isn't good for shit but low emissions) but don't go around telling people you drive a muscle car, or that you honestly prefer the v6. You wanted what a charger stands for in your mind (status maybe? Idk, personally I like the old second gen chargers the best and don't give a hoot in hell about any "charger" where a four speed isn't at least an option.) and you got as close as you could within your budget. That's closer than I am to the charger I want. I dream, literally dream about owning a 1968 Dodge Charger with a 512 stroker and four speed and I won't buy anything labeled as a Charger until I can afford that dream. That dream is going to take me a long, long time to reach and I'm not going to settle. If you aspire to the modern SRT8 but have settled for the SXT just admit it, you're not any less of a man/woman for doing so, in fact you're probably a lot more grown up than I am clinging onto the fantasy of a car many decades older than myself...just cut the crap though.
I agree with you man. I own my dream car 68 mustang v8 so I don’t really care for having the “fastest loudest” car because I already have it at home. I have nothing to prove or anyone to race and I found a v6 charger for 15k and haven’t decided what to do. I’d like a daily driver and the 3.6 is pretty good plus I don’t speed or challenge these punks on the road. I think it’s a good deal since I love muscle cars and their look so who knows haha thanks for reading
i can afford a r/t or daytona but im 23 so my insurance would go crazy with a v8 lol. i currently have a 2017 charger sxt plus with 300 hp. It works for me im good. Put a cold air intake on it makes it sound better.
I can afford a V8. I can't afford to have a car I can't drive year round in Chicago. I got a GT Challenger to enjoy all year round, every day. I have no desire to drive a beater daily and keep a gem in the garage. If its not for you, okay. I hope that one day we'll get V8 AWD Chally.
1. Experience- some people can't handle the power of V8 off the bat. it's like handing a kid the keys to a corvette and they crash or guys saving up money for the new mustangs and you see some of them crash. got to learn with a weaker car. 2. They like it the way it is. I want a 4 cylinder Fiero, because it just attracts me for some reasons. Some people just want a v6 chargers.
If you’re going to daily drive something the V6 is the ultimate. I put 20K miles per year and I bought my challenger SXT+ brand new. Couldn’t justify 8K more for a less than half optioned RT. I got 29.6mpg from Portland Oregon to Reno Nevada. And had to stop 25 times for my wife that has to pee relentlessly.
Everyone’s missing the AWD. The originally offered the V8 in AWD, but (I think due to lack in sales) didn’t develop AWD for the new tranny to mate with the v8 So if you live in a northern state and can’t have two vehicles, a v6 AWD will out perform a V8 in almost every single way 260 days of your year.... waiting for the V8 while it looses traction or has to be careful with the gas pedal so it won’t end up in a ditch.. V8 wins out on a dry track or straight away That’s a pretty rare thing for daily drivers in the north. Not to mention the v6 Charger/challenger is still faster/ has more power than nearly everything else you encounter driving on the road from day to day. It’s just easier to drive and enjoy If I live in Florida or Arizona .., I’d probably buy a scat pack
I went to a party in LA for V6 chargers pulled up 0709's 22 inch wheels suspension all screwed up I was the only gringo there with an SRT eight I could hear him speak in Spanish who's SRT is that it's the gringo
I have an v6 charger and its slow as hell, 16.9 in quarter mile, a mtf chvy cruze beat me. But i always wanted a charger, and the only one that i can get is my 3.5. Looks great but i would like more power. But my car drinks a lot of fuel. I dont know how can afford an srt if i get it.😂
ChecheTV I appreciate the honesty I drive a 3.5 v6 Acura MDX and I get horrible gas mileage keeping up with city traffic only getting a mere 13-14 mpgs
Coming from a v6 challenger. I rather get a scat or hellcat if I ever upgrade. I test drive a RT. Ain’t no point getting a RT coming from a V6. But imma keep my v6 challenger 2017 until the wheels fall off.
I had to settle for a V6 mustang and at first I was mad, but after driving it for two years, I'm satisfied with it and I'm glad I had all that time, instead of taking the bus, so that's what matters to me.
Felt the same way with my V6 too. I’ve added a V8 as well when I made some money and could afford it, but I still love that damn V6 since it was my first car and had so many memories with it.
You’re not alone, the V6 is super popular. The AWD is also on many SXT models. It was GT only certain years (around 2017-18) but they made it on both SXT and GT for the last couple years. In my honest opinion, stock it sounds okay. A lot better sounding than any four cylinder. But it doesn’t sounds like the Hemis and this 3.6L sounds really awful when you add an exhaust to it, not muscular but raspy and ricey.
I got a 2014 Dodge Charger SE. (V6) only got it cause 1 better gas, don't want a v8 yet. 2 price. 3 something that looks good and very dependable. And not to mention ladies still love my car. And I'm only 21
You should get another charger with a hemi as the "official" channel project car. Aftermarket for the 3.5 is not that great. You could find an old police Hemi charger for cheap. Keep the V6 as a daily imo.
Ya here's the reasons: 1. Not enough money 2. Not enough money 3. Not enough money 4. Not enough money 5. Not enough money ANDDDDDD 6. Not enough money
King of The Castle I think the smart financial decision would have been to purchase a different fuel efficient car and focus on your career then later on if life permits, buy a real muscle car. You think you will still be happy owning a Dodge Charger body but you will actually be more pissed. I wouldn't want to drive a car that is pretending to be something its not, I would rather drive a Camry.
That's pretty much why I bought my charger. And that was my first car too. For the record, it was my car cause I bought it with my money not Mom and Dad.
Bro I have a V6 charger its alright car but it was cheep it was 4500 used the reason why it was that low is because it has a bunch of hail damage cuz it was from Colorado but I'm working on the dings but once the body is fixed up I'm going to paint it black and red its going to look sick
You are so right bro! People that get a Charger should be just as happy to even have one! A lot of people want Chargers and cannot afford them for plenty of reasons! I got s SXT '07 V6 Charger I love it to death im not racing anyone lol but tinted windows a lil bit of chrome and some 22s sealed the deal! People paying for V8's and still living with there parents ITS TOO MUCH MONEY!! Great video man👍👍👍👍
Its funny you assume V8 = living with parents. the truth is, V8 means you actually have a career, and not some bummy job. V6s's are great for students. Once you are done school, and actually making money, you will see what I mean.
Avon Barksdale Wtf are you talking about hahaha I know a ton of people that have v8 and live with there parents and can barely afford the insurance and the gas for that 15 mpg and having a v8 doesn't mean you have a career or making good money
Well the reason I would rather have a V6 over the V8 is that I have nothing to proof and not going to race anyone so having extra power would be a waste. Plus who in the hell is going to be racing all the damn time?! Hell all I'm going to do is drive the damn thing to the store and back so why in the hell would I need more power?! That's why I would have a V6 because I don't need the extra power and won't be racing every damn second of the day!!
Watching RUclips all I see the V8 guys do is 0-60 pulls and racking their pipes going under an overpass. I got a V6 because I drive my car, I put a lot of miles on it, I take road trips etc. I do all that without doing 0-60 pulls everywhere I go... but with 300 HP I can merge with 75 mph traffic no problem and pass with ease..
King of The Castle Honestly I can't talk much as I have owned a v6 Camaro but it was weak. 6 cylinders can have powerful and be fast but if you want more power V8's just produce more with less and way more with work. It's just prefence but muscle cars with a 6 cylinder? That's not true muscle...
King of The Castle put a brand new gtr... against a 2005-7 saleen S7... good luck. Like I said 6 cylinders can be fast and powerful so I'm not sure what you're trying to prove here. V8 kings are gt500, gt500 super snake, coyote mustang, hellcats, demon, zl1, etc. The list goes on. Now back to what I said if you want power the v8s will have more power than v6/6 cylinder cars. 6's need help like a turbo. If you could put the same turbo and same level of build on a 6 and 8 cylinder, I'll save you the trouble the v8 would out power the 6. There is a reason the fastest cars have 8 or more cylinders, it is because they can handle more power and go faster.
Why do people buy V6 Muscle Cars? Because everyone has to start somewhere. Edit: also since I’m a young and new driver I V6’s are wayyy cheaper on Insurance and Gas Mileage. I want too buy a V8 Charger when I get out of college!
v6 3.5 high output kicks ups some horses and slap a turbo or supercharger and dual exhaust and you got a mean ride. yeah hemi's are nice but fucking expensive so ill stick with my v6
I dont have any problem with v6 guys...most are good guys. Its the group that tries to make it something it isn't. The v6 Challenger...Charger.. Mustang or Camaro are not muscle cars.
*buys a v6* dude should of the the 5.7 its not that much more *buys a 5.7*dude should of got the 392 its not that much more *buys a 392* should of got a hellcat
Broward Boyy it depends on your age actually if your under 21 it's going to be fairly expensive, under 35 it's going to be a big difference in price and over 40 and under like 70 is going to be cheap af
I drive a 2014 v6 mustang, the 2010 has the body of the 2011, but the engine and power of the 2009. So it's a 4.0L v6 with 210 hp. 2011 is when we got the 3.7L v6 with 305 hp.
You don't buy a muscle car for looks. That's basically what you're getting with a v6 is looks. Yeah v6s have come a long way in terms of power but everyone wants to look at peak horsepower and not the entire curve compared to a v8.
My dad actually tried to buy me a v8 but as it was my first car, I knew and we all know stupid things happen, I wanted a v6 so I myself would drive safer. And whew not to mention insurance!!
Pls help Marspeed! I have a Chrysler 300c 3.5 I have the 4speed 42RLE transmission. I heard it’s pointless to modify the car because the transmission either won’t put the power down or it will break. :/ I just want to mod my car to about 300-320hp. Is it worthless really? Thanks
There is one and ONLY one reason anyone buys a v6 charger, mustang, camaro. And thats price. You can try to make reasons about anything else but its not true, its simply comes down to "its cheaper". Gas, insurance, trim options, everything you mentioned is only 1 reason, the price. Im not hating though because it is you people buying the shitty rental versions of that car that makes the company enough money to increase our v8's power and technology for the years to come. :)
I bought my 2006 Daytona for 3500 Dollars I am Old as shit and don’t want any payments and have worked on cars all my life it’s great for me . My son bought the six cylinder it’s got plenty of power he bought it New do what you can afford and what makes you happy
Who cares.!! long as you love your car that’s all that matters!!
most of the V8 commenters are driving 4 cylinder cars or not even have one.
@@ndn9266 well, he did not have the money.
Hell yea same here bro. I live in Jersey and a v6/v8 RWD would've been pointless. I like 2016 Sxt just got it last year 40000/miles.
aaron daniel That’s why I bought my 2013 300S AWD. I’m in Massachusetts.
most new school v6s are more powerful than most older v8s.
stefan urquel that's a good point.
But not this heavy ass car
It’s about power to weight ratio, old cars don’t have safety features and tech and things like that which makes them a lot lighter
My 2015 sxt cost 16k and tuning it will cost me 10k total 26k that's as much as a RT
So for 26k I will have
500 horse power
19 miles per gallon
My insurance won't be as high
And when a v8 takes on my v6 and I just take off that's just the icing on the cake
Sometimes more powerful then a new v8
Hey i got a V6 challenger last year got it cheaper than a V8 RT saved 4grand added a spoiler tinted the windows and it looks great... used the cash for school ... worked out in the end for me..
All good reasons. The V6 has 300 hp which is plenty for any kind of real world driving. People in the 80s and 90s drove sedans of this size with 150 hp V8 engines and they were great cars.
That 300hp has a very different feel though. The torque is lacking and you get that hp at higher revs than a V8. Not saying bad, just different.
Exactly, if you work hard and use your money for more important things such as building wealth, a V8 engine doesn’t mean a damn in the time being
^^This guy knows what he’s talking about. I drive a 300 with the newer 3.6L V6, and its more than enough power, considering my commute doesn’t allow for me to open up the throttle very much anyway. There would be times when the V8 would be fun, but most of the time the V8 would just give me empty bragging rights.
@@GigginQuick But those empty bragging rights are awesome!!!
Thanks for this video. I am happy I have a HEMI V8 but you remind me of when I was in college. Keep up the great videos.
Juan Luna thanks for the support!
Makes sense to me
Just traded my 3.5L V6 for a 2008 Dodge Magnum 5.7L hemi!
Welcome to the hemi game bro I just got me an 07 Chrysler with a hemi
My sister in law have a 2018 charger sxt 3.6L it’s fast for 292HP but I Drove a 2015 charger Rally edition 3.6L with 300HP those 8extra hp makes a big difference that Rally Edition is way faster then the stock SXT...
The reason I got a V6 Charger (2018 GT Plus Blacktop pakage) was because I live in Michigan so AWD is a must. I’m 18 and a college student and only pay $250 a month on a 2018 Charger. It’s the perfect daily not too slow or not too fast I love it
How much money did you put down to get $250/month?
Maaaan you cant clown a V6 dude who paid it with his own money, i respect them more than people with V8 with daddy money
You know, I love all your videos but this is is extra awesome. This helps a lot with how much gas and insurance will cost, what type of car i should get depending on my driving situation, the packages I can get, and I really like the kind of Vlog style camera placing with you driving while talking through the vid. Keep up the good work
Bastony thanks for the positive feedback man!! Glad to hear it helped :)
I have a v6 charger shit hits hard on the free way if i was to get a v8 id have tons of tickets by now
v6 chargers aren't bad they still pull speed i dont regret buying the v6
V8 theres really no point its not like your gana be racing it daily
I agree, with the vvt system It has, once you're around 4500rpm you're passing just about anything you need to 👍
You can still get a V8 bro I got a 07 Chrysler hemi for around 2900 hundred I love the way it drives and it’s extremely powerful
my 2007 V6 Charger will get me through high school, nobody at my school drives a Charger and I wanted to stand out...that and all the R/Ts I found either had bad oil leaks or frame damage...I could afford an R/T but I'm not dealing with an oil leak
Shelby427Gaming yeah my V6 is getting me through university just fine, no need to rush anything we are still young!
3.5 or 2.7?
I originally got a V6 because of the price. No surprise there. But after switching directly from an 04 civic dx (cheapest and slowest model) I was glad that i didn't have the extra money because the power difference felt pretty insane. Overall it's a fun car and I love it, but I definitely want to get a v8 model charger in the distant future. But again, it was definitely the price point that made me get a V6.
You can download hp from internet for your v6 charger
karlitron45 what do you mean?
where lol
He is most likely talking about maps and reflashing the ecu.
karlitron45 chipped?
😆
I somewhat agree with the reasons stated for owning a V6. I own a 2015 V6 Mustang and yes price had something to do with it but the performance believe it or not did too. My car is slightly modified and I'm getting around 350 HP. With my power to weight ratio I have raced many Charger and Challenger R/Ts and have won. You don't need a V8 to be fast. I have less than $2000 invested in my car in upgrades so it's really not that expensive either to get the performance you want.
Michael Reitz riiiiiggghhhhtttt😂😂😂
Why didn't you buy a older 5.0 model
Are the R/Ts you’re racing stock tho
Piano Guy they stock they probably just got a new set of pipes that’s about it and cold air intake
If I buy a V6, then it's "why didn't you buy a V8?" If I buy a V8, then it's "why didn't you buy a V10?" If I buy a V10, then it's "why didn't you buy a fighter jet?" It will never end.
Louis Cipher - true. you can’t, and shouldn’t want to impress people
I just bought my 2nd V6 Charger.
I'm planing on getting a Camaro soon with a V8, I like Dodge, but If I'm going to spend upwards of 20k on a car it's gonna either be a Challenger, Camaro or Mustang.
a few performance mods can make it bad ass
Dan O Qam Yasharahla yeah all of those are coupes... I'll take the HP with the sedan.
I totally understand your situation. Hope you’re able to afford a V8 in the next couple years!
PaganiHuayra1 thanks man! Hope so as well
Marspeed I’m not sure about up there, but down in the US, retired police Chargers are pretty common.
Oh tell me about the tuning programmer??
I have a 2006 Dodge Charger 3.5 v6 police package and I love it! Any tips to make it faster and add hp?
I had 2017 Dodge Challenger RT shaker and I down grade to 2019 challenger GT AWD.. why? I live in Vancouver where we get lots of rain and snow, and we have the the most expensive insurance and very expensive gas. Owning a V6 is not bad like what ppl think. Some ppl wants the look of a muscle car and it is really fun and cool to drive one, V6 or V8. Not everyone wants fast, some people wants looks and some are practical.
Buys V6 because it's cheaper but yet spends money on mods that could of went to just buy the real deal....makes perfect sense!
E5m mods were spread out over like 3 years now, didn’t have all that money upfront and wanted to pay cash for everything so I made it work :)
E5m is going places.. let's listen to this guy.. might be straight to hell but hey! He's going places.
ameer mujahid 😉.........😂
A wrx, Focus st, is300, or g35 would be alot better choice than a v6 charger imo.
v6 mopar All of those are alot lighter and have more potential than a v6 charger, hell even an R/T, they're just so heavy.
v6 mopar They're not to small you're just to fat.
Larcon Pritzle I'm not saying they're the best cars in the world, I'm just saying they would be a better choice than a v6 charger for the price.
Mopar 4 Life What do you need all that room for? Do you live in your car?
I have a V6 badge on my charger so people could know I drive a v6
KETCHUP PIKACHU I should swap a V8 in my Charger and keep the V6 badge
I like the V6
Plus a V6 is better on track. Better placement in the car, weight distribution.
I got my v6 mainly for the winters I have here in Canada, got AWD and also cuz a Daytona is out of my budget
If they had a Daytona in AWD id make the money sacrifice and get that shit. I seriously don't wanna get stuck in my slopped drive way in the morning for work during a snow storm
I have a 2019 v6 charger sxt but it’s still listed as a sports car under our insurance
Facts
Even in the original muscle cars days there were 318 Chargers/ Challengers, 307 Camaro, 327 Corvettes and I6 Mustangs.
I bought mine because of the AWD. Were I live we get a fair amount of snow and I can't afford a seperate car for winter.
Eric Boone That’s why I bought my 2013 300S AWD. New England winters.
I’d rather have a v6 than a Sentra or versa!🤮🤮🤮🤮
The Sentra SER Spec V is not that bad
@@datcat3390 I agree it’s better than a fake muscle car
@@fuckyourfeelings2741 they are pony cars actually
@@datcat3390 you must be from stupid town cause no they are not no v6 muscle car is considered pony or muscle
@datcat3390 idk about pony cars, its way to big and heavy to be a pony car, id like to usually label it as "muscle lite"
Just bought a v6 charger and I love it
Good video ! Did u do a muffler deleete.? The entire time whilemu were driving all I heard was growling.
I have owned V8's in the past. Once you have to do a spark plug change and realize there are 16 plugs, man those V6's sure sound nice.
She definitely does not wanna ride in a V6 muscle car. She will definitely go to the other cars when she hears your Weedwhacker takeoff
You’re so insecure about your V6 you’re comparing it to 1970. You spent $21,000 on a v6. Why would you even get a Dodge if you’re not gonna get a Hemi.
I got a RWD 2017 charger sxt plus, gf has a scatpack widebody Challenger
She definitely has to pay more, when i ask her too "wanna go on some trips" she sometimes say no due to gas, and im like "we can take my car lol"
I would love to see a V6 Charger at a Race track
I bought my 2007 V6 Magnum in 2009.... It was a unsold car from a dodge dealer that went out of business.
Since it left their lot, they had to sell it as a “used” car. So my choice was buy a used car with a Hemi or a basically brand new (had 600 miles on it) car that happened to have a V6... Gas mileage wasn’t a factor...
I've super charged my 2013 sxt Challenger and have a bourla catback and have beaten several v8 cars including my dad's mustang so I don't care that "it's still just a v6"
Just wait until I supercharged my V8 it’s gone be on the level of a scatpack
The modern V6 sports coups and Charger are great for people with long commutes on open freeways. They are decent on fuel, insurance, and are a lot sturdier than a front wheel drive shit box.
Before I started the video I already know the answer to why people buy the v6 option - cheaper and better on gas: the end
@@formangrilling111 Have you ever taken your 68 stang to the strip?
i can afford a r/t or daytona but im 23 so my insurance would go crazy with a v8 lol. i currently have a 2017 charger sxt plus with 300 hp. It works for me im good. Put a cold air intake on it makes it sound better.
Jesse Jay same my insurance at 18 was through the roof for the v8
I rlly like ur vid bro i just picked up a charger persuit aka the police car and im rlly enjoying it 💯
I can afford a V8. I can't afford to have a car I can't drive year round in Chicago. I got a GT Challenger to enjoy all year round, every day. I have no desire to drive a beater daily and keep a gem in the garage. If its not for you, okay. I hope that one day we'll get V8 AWD Chally.
RIPP supercharger for V6s are good for performance gains but really pricey. I think its 5k for one
Some people just want a v6 chargers.
kain burger agreed. I’m sure lots of people go into the dealership wanting the V6 and nothing else. Everyone has different reasons
If you’re going to daily drive something the V6 is the ultimate. I put 20K miles per year and I bought my challenger SXT+ brand new. Couldn’t justify 8K more for a less than half optioned RT. I got 29.6mpg from Portland Oregon to Reno Nevada. And had to stop 25 times for my wife that has to pee relentlessly.
v8 is overrated. not many have v6 around here. so rather have that
Everyone’s missing the AWD.
The originally offered the V8 in AWD, but (I think due to lack in sales) didn’t develop AWD for the new tranny to mate with the v8
So if you live in a northern state and can’t have two vehicles, a v6 AWD will out perform a V8 in almost every single way 260 days of your year.... waiting for the V8 while it looses traction or has to be careful with the gas pedal so it won’t end up in a ditch..
V8 wins out on a dry track or straight away
That’s a pretty rare thing for daily drivers in the north.
Not to mention the v6 Charger/challenger is still faster/ has more power than nearly everything else you encounter driving on the road from day to day.
It’s just easier to drive and enjoy
If I live in Florida or Arizona .., I’d probably buy a scat pack
Ted Pendagast That’s why I bought my 300S AWD V6. I live in Massachusetts.
Had a 300S , Now, a V6 because there AWD in Michigan. V8's Dont have AWD. .
I’m looking at buying a v6 just because I need awd. Is the gt the only option? And not to sound ignorant but does it still sound powerful?
You’re not alone, the V6 is super popular. The AWD is also on many SXT models. It was GT only certain years (around 2017-18) but they made it on both SXT and GT for the last couple years. In my honest opinion, stock it sounds okay. A lot better sounding than any four cylinder. But it doesn’t sounds like the Hemis and this 3.6L sounds really awful when you add an exhaust to it, not muscular but raspy and ricey.
Great video. Very logical reasons for the V6.
im gonna buy v6 cause of gas milage and its cheaper on my pockets
If your worried about gas get a prius
Cheaper insurance is what I bought my v6
2018 mustang gt, lotta bang for your buck. Very nice interior, very nice looking, 435hp and 35k
I got a 2014 Dodge Charger SE. (V6) only got it cause 1 better gas, don't want a v8 yet. 2 price. 3 something that looks good and very dependable. And not to mention ladies still love my car. And I'm only 21
Jairaj Sidhu probably daddys money.
Nah it's my money I work day and night
that sucks. id rather have a life at 18 than own a SS and work day and night.
MrAlternation I know right!
Rowdy Rine I recently got the charger srt 392 Daytona and I'm 16 but my dad bought it for me
Hey marspeed why didn't you get the SRT version of your car, it's faster and lounder
You should get another charger with a hemi as the "official" channel project car. Aftermarket for the 3.5 is not that great. You could find an old police Hemi charger for cheap. Keep the V6 as a daily imo.
Ethan Commins that's true something like that could be a possibility
Ya here's the reasons:
1. Not enough money
2. Not enough money
3. Not enough money
4. Not enough money
5. Not enough money
ANDDDDDD
6. Not enough money
Or he made the wiser choice to save money for more important things then a faster car
King of The Castle I have a couple cars and a truck, but it's not important I was joking but everyone on here freaked out over my comment lol
TrEVILlyan 95 You forgot Bad credit or no credit history.
That's pretty much why I bought my charger. And that was my first car too. For the record, it was my car cause I bought it with my money not Mom and Dad.
im thinking of buying a srt 8 Chrysler 300 or a lifted chevy or a lifted ram or any truck that looks good or a rt charger or maybe a camaro ss
Bro I have a V6 charger its alright car but it was cheep it was 4500 used the reason why it was that low is because it has a bunch of hail damage cuz it was from Colorado but I'm working on the dings but once the body is fixed up I'm going to paint it black and red its going to look sick
Carson Tavoian yeah that's a solid price, sometimes it's worth it to fix things like that
You are so right bro!
MR. 359 👍
22s... At least u didn't go any bigger...
Ugh no car in the world needs 22” tires, they look disgusting
Avon Barksdale
Wtf are you talking about hahaha I know a ton of people that have v8 and live with there parents and can barely afford the insurance and the gas for that 15 mpg and having a v8 doesn't mean you have a career or making good money
Love how the v6 sounds for the price obviously the v8 sounds better but look at camaros and mustangs with a v6 engine this is a much better car
Kaleb Nickerson exactly brother my thoughts too
hey man, thanks for the vid.
and lol, fuck those speed bumps
V8 guys are the most annoying and obnoxious imo.
I bought a 2011 charger 5.7 fully loaded with 70xxx miles from a old old man for 15.xxx
The 3.6 rips!
Apart... Over 80mph.
LexusVIP 400 Exactly
King of The Castle The charger must be fun, is it 100% stock or did you put something on like a intake or exhaust?
Why do people buy V6 Muscle Cars? Because everyone has to start somewhere.
Edit: also since I’m a young and new driver I V6’s are wayyy cheaper on Insurance and Gas Mileage. I want too buy a V8 Charger when I get out of college!
I was going to go with a v6 but found an RT in perfect condition being sold by an older couple for 6k. Just couldn’t pass it up
v6 3.5 high output kicks ups some horses and slap a turbo or supercharger and dual exhaust and you got a mean ride. yeah hemi's are nice but fucking expensive so ill stick with my v6
I dont have any problem with v6 guys...most are good guys. Its the group that tries to make it something it isn't. The v6 Challenger...Charger..
Mustang or Camaro are not muscle cars.
u tripping. just cause they not v8s doesn’t mean they’re not muscle cars😂😂 engine is it the only thing that’s brings muscle
@@annamarie-x2z You lack common sense. Go to a car meet and walk around telling people what you posted. See how much people laugh at you.
I like the way your muffler sound. What kind of Muffler you have for your charger?
beastrogers flowmaster super 10s!
Mine Insurance on a V8 monthly around $200 mark and it’s because of my speeding tickets lol
What's some good brand tires to put on a 2008 Dodge Charger SE?
1018 V6 3.6 avg 29 mpg @ 75 mph. Oh yeah I quit at 130+ mph in Kansas
*buys a v6* dude should of the the 5.7 its not that much more *buys a 5.7*dude should of got the 392 its not that much more *buys a 392* should of got a hellcat
My dad's V6 charger was 35k lol better than R/T cost
What about a 2010 mustang v6 3.7 L how much will the insurance companies price that at?
Broward Boyy I don't know, maybe LOOK IT UP?
Skyout Games insurance kills me even with the V6 lol I feel you man
Make a video explaining how you made your car louder please. A bit detailed please? :)
I have a few other exhaust vids but I might do another one thanks for the idea!
Marspeed Yay!!
I'm selling my charger R/T for a SRT, craving more power
just go hellcat. Going from R/T to SRT isn't a good jump.
r/t to SRT is just a few more luxury items. only real difference in power is the R/T,Scat,SRT to the hellcat
SkyRecruit18 scat pack is SRT, both have the same engine, both make the same power
v6 mopar bro why'd you get all mad and type in Caps lol, he literally just said he wanted more power chill lol
Probably a good idea 😂 I smoke RT’s all day with my 2001 mustang gt which is like 15 years older
