I put a speaker into each one of the two front windows, turned off all house lights except porch/veranda (where candy lay on a small table, unguarded), and played this on repeat on Halloween night. When I came back from the party around midnight, hardly any candy had been taken... but an anonymous person (a neighbor?) left a note on the door saying "Don't EVER do this again or the police will be called".
She has come again, Salt Marie Celeste. She will make the world a new, she will return it to it’s rightful glory. Humanity will become no more, as she will obliterate each and every last being alive. She will destroy all that humanity has built, wiping away centuries of work and relics. Once complete, she and her kingdom of ghosts will reign supreme, and it will be the most beautiful song ever sung.
Believe it or not, this is pretty refreshing after listening to a lot of "musical" music. Not only that but it satisfies the need to get creeped out every now and then. I don't know why I like that.
The late, great Barrett Clark (R.I.P.) would play this layered with a pitched-down Laura Huxley meditation, either "Your Favorite Flower" or "Rainbow Walk" and blow minds.
speaking of the sea, ships going down, would love to go to an industrial site with massive sound systems playing this, another playing Gavin Bryars sinking of the titanic and William Basinski Disintegration Loops, maybe playing with the volume, and on another night, maybe with some ambient music, or Jon Gibson's Cycles and Visitations
+doctorwithwound If you don't mind my asking, where'd you buy it from, and how much was it? I really wanna track down some NWW vinyls but find that they're all worth an incredible amount of money that I just can't quite justify
I still don't know how to appreciate this kind of music. I accidentally stumbled on "A Sucked Orange", wow. Now this. It's so hypnotic and powerful, and ... wow, I'm speechless. I'm new to this genre, any other suggestions?
+christopher johnson try current 93's "i have a special plan for this world" or their "faust"... nurse with wound is closely related to them... if you want to keep consistent with this type of sound i'd suggest checking out the rosters on labels like Cyclic Law.

I have always fantasized about doing this very thing to our neighbors on Halloween. I’m glad to see I’m not the only one who had the inclination 😂
"or the police will be called...." Mhmmmmm, sure. Yeah I'd like to see you try. Fantastic story btw.
When I close my eyes The low rumbling in the background makes me feel like I’m in a spaceship

I love the art work of this record. Just buy the vinyl for that.
I have the vinyl version, including Salty. The vernacular surface.
Great soundtrack for Garfield comics.
The most expensive LP I've ever bought but well worth it. Beautiful packaging as always
