Have you seen Carry On, yet? I agree with some of your objections to the movie in question in this video. But, the portrayal of Satan in it has almost nothing to do with Satan of the Bible. It's a Satan that comes completely from medieval Catholicism and late 19th to early 20th century occultism made popular by Anton Lavey. I would more precisely say they are deconstructing Christian moods. But, those moods aren't always exactly Biblical themselves. The reason I mentioned Carry On is because that movie does far more to glorify the actual Satan of the Bible than stupid movies like Dear Santa.
I’m not gonna lie, I literally thought of this idea for a rom com. My sister was watching this film where a little girl misspelled Santa and then somebody went and corrected it for her (the letter she wrote was asking Santa to let her mom fall in love). After seeing that scene, I then thought that it would be darkly humorous if that letter ended up going through to Satan and after reading the girl’s pleas, he’d try to do the opposite of her request. Since Satan destroys, I thought it would be true to his character for him to try and destroy the little girl’s mother’s chance at love. It would be a dark comedy, of course (with Satan’s plans foiled in the end). It was just a quick idea, and obviously it would be impossible to do it now without being called a copycat. But what do you think?
The issue with the movie I described and the difference between it and your idea would be based on how evil is showcased. In Dear Santa, evil is shown as goofy and fun, while in your idea it is not. If evil is explicitly shown as something good toward the viewer, it is antithetical to Christianity.
The concept of the movie is super original. It has definitely never been used in any comedy videos.. but seriously, the writers were really scraping the bottom of the barrel with the premise of this Movie.
I think I mostly agree on with you on things like depicting violence being okay with. That said, there is a difference between writing something and showing something. Maybe you already mentioned that point, I forget. But the difference between writing and showing things is the reason why I agree with the dreaded American double standard of being more opposed to [real] nudity or groping, etc compared to fake violence shown in movies/shows. Like, the Song of Solomon is a good book, not sinful, about appreciating sex and romance, and not as edgy as it is made out to be, but the writer would have never been willing to make detailed videos showing what the book talks about. Off the top of my head, Ezekiel says certain things(graphically talking about ejaculation, women wanting to be groped, and women "spreading their legs" and whoring themselves out for free) and it actually would be pornographic if the intention was to turn people on, but the things that he said would be wrong to show in video format, especially if real actors/actresses were involved. Directors probably shouldn't tell actors and actresses to do anything with each other that they would/should not do with their siblings. I think it is fair to say that the writers of the Bible and God would not condone an uncensored video being made of everything that happens in the Bible. The same could likely be said for excessive violence. I am not sure where the line with violence should be drawn, I think it is kind of a grey area based on things like the intention behind showing it and whether showing it truly adds anything of worthwhile value. Like, whatever theological problems there may or may not be with The Passion of the Christ movie, I approve of its use of goriness and if the cross is going to be depicted, it probably OUGHT to be gory. At least, it probably shouldn't be G-rated.
I think you got it bang on, man. In my opinion, we should use that creativity to imply instead of simply showing things for pure shock or tension because "it's so edgy". Part of being creative means finding creative solutions.

Good concepts, but the longer you go, the more you end up repeating yourself. Not sure if you need to focus on scripted videos or if it's just a matter of practice. You indicated that you're using notes to organize your thoughts, which is helpful, but it may be helpful to voice your thoughts out loud a few times before hitting the record button, just so you've thoroughly processed the thought before voicing it. I see what you're saying. The main issue with this film and those like it is that evil is being portrayed as good and it's aimed at kids. "Woe to those that call good evil, and evil good!"
This was an amazing insight into the sense of victimhood I commonly see in Christians. To be so triggered and to feel so persecuted by the existence of some stupid movie is just surreal to me. I can hardly begrudge you for your views though, of course. Clearly you have been indoctrinated and brainwashed to reach this point so if anything, you have my deepest compassion and sympathy. I thank you for the video and while I do not know why it came up in my feed I was appreciative for the perspective.
Of course I've been indoctrinated. Everyone is indoctrinated into a certain belief system, and you're no exception. The fact people think that evil being mixed up with good is okay for kids to ingest is alarming.
So, I just finished watched the movie. It's like a 2.5/5. Theologically, it's just bad, but a Satanic Movie is required to elevate a person's base desires and the audience is supposed to applaud their selfish ambitions. This movie doesn't do that, so I can't say it's satanic. It's not good, the acting and writing are pretty weak, and it's occasionally funny.
Thanks for sharing! The main point I was trying to make is the "gamification" of evil and making it seem goofy. Maybe this movie isn't terrible in that regard, but it definitely trends toward that direction.
Do you think it's good practice to use words like "Satanic" or "glorifying evil" to a movie that only trends that direction? I see you've changed the title to the video. I'm not trying to do the normal "RUclips Comment Section" thing where I try to own you in a debate or anything, but the movie only *potentially* does something that you and I hate. Is it good to claim that it does?
I could see someone doing that with your channel name. "Ryder the omniscient? He's mocking God!" This is an extreme example, but I'm using it to prove a point of just because something volatiles our interpretation of a piece of media, doesn't mean our interpretation is correct. Does that make sense at all, or am I arguing for something I shouldn't argue for?
@@izzypophaha I could see where you're going but I don't see it as a conflict of interest. With my name for example: people might not get my sense of humor, but it's a self-depricating title. Anyone who knows what I stand for will know that title is not serious and pokes fun at the fact I'm not omniscient.

I used to love the _Saw_ films, and yes, it was only for the shock value from the gore. That's really all it was selling. At one point I was trying to watch them all to experience how the story connected, but it's clear that the plotline is just an afterthought, much like porn movies themselves. I'm glad The Lord removed the desire from me to view such things.

@@NevetsM In Nefarious demons are shown to be evil. In this movie it's shown as fun and games. Completely different standard of morality.
@@izzypophaha Potentially? Humorizing evil to make it trivial is not a small thing.
@@izzypophaha I could see where you're going but I don't see it as a conflict of interest. With my name for example: people might not get my sense of humor, but it's a self-depricating title. Anyone who knows what I stand for will know that title is not serious and pokes fun at the fact I'm not omniscient.
Excellently put
Thank you
...i Really know qhy this mivie it is satans last try to take souls because i was see this year first week heavens and Jesus is going to back in Crhismas when ewerybody is hurry and dont ewen realizes that .Amen.
It shouldn't be made in first place 😕 😪 Hollywood is evil and need to stop 😫
Nope
We need a change for sure.
@@RyderTheOmniscient it’s not the films that are bad. It’s the people who are doing horrible things behind closed curtains. Or even on set.
@@RyderTheOmniscient also saying a movie is satanic is stupid when you think about because your rapping on someone’s creation. Someone’s creativity. So if you think you’re helping by saying don’t watch this it’s satanic just think again.
@@TheLike2346 One of the beautiful things about art is that we can and should criticise and learn from it. It's how we get better.

Saw is truly gore porn. I never understood the appeal.
I've heard that the first one might be the best one, but after that they went ham on the gore.
