I think the best thing a black man can do is avoid using razors altogether. I use a pair of liners/trimmers such as the Andis T-outliner and I follow up with the Wahl Shaver Shaper for that razor close finish with no bumps ever.
Really like the advice on taking your time. Allowing the proper time for your morning routine is critical. Relax and take the time needed. Always enjoy your videos!!
Yeah and 1. only use YOUR own razor. Dont let your chick shave her legs or her VAG with your razor 2. If you use disposables throw them bithces out after 2-3 shaves at the most. 3. Clean your damn face first like OG said. 4. Invest in a straight razor, in the long run its cheaper than buy all them damn disposable unless you catch them on sale 12 in a pack for 7.99 or so 5. Get a nice lather on one side of your face, shave, then lather the 2nd side and take your time. 6. Apply a hot/warm towel over your face after you shave, clean everything off your face. Last thing you want is to walk out the door and still have lather or blood from a cut all down your neck.
Good vid OG! Taking time N being patient is super important, so is the aftershave. My facial hair grows in different directions too, so I gotta wash first to comb it N then trim and line it up.
Good tips, OG! I prefer to shave in the shower, warms/softens the facial hair. Also, hair conditioner can be a nice shaving cream option! Doesn't foam up, but it can lubricate the hair & skin for a smooth shave and a nice feel afterwards.
When I shave after getting out of the shower I first wet my face with hot water then before shaving I wash face with Nivea Deep Clean face wash before putting Gilette Series Shaving gel . Gives me best Shave. Everyday I will wash my face with Gillette Series face wash & after put Gillette Series face cream on my face.
Here’s a tip: Using “clean”Hair Clippers… Yes… The Hair Clippers “blade” stays even and you can adjust the height based on how close that you want to get. Especially if you have sensitive skin.
We have the unique circumstance of having facial hair that may grow in multiple directions, as well as curling in the shape of the number 9, so our shaving protocol always has been, and always will be specialized to get the desired result.
My advice is to throw away your cartridge razor!! Use a safety razor or even better use a straight razor. You will get a better shave and save money. I get my razor sharpened once or twice a year for about 6 bucks, and double edged razor blades cost literally cents and are much sharper.
I usually shave before going to bed. At night I shave better and slower since I have more time. If I shave In the morning I tend to rush the job and would usually end up having bleeding cuts that would just ruin my whole day. Besides, I save more time in the morning.
👏👏👏👏👏👏! This is not only timely information it's necessary for those of us who want to present a clean, fresh and well groomed look at all times! If I may add information from my own personal shaving experiences, no matter how attractive or advertised those multi-blade razors are shown-and this is specifically for men of color-never use those types of blades on your face!🛑✋️ If you properly prep your face before shaving with a quality gel or cream shaving cream, a single blade razor will do you right. Some men have very course beard hair and can you guess what happens when you run a sharp blade over a very course curly hair? 🤔 That's right! It leaves a very sharp tip at the end of the hair and as it grows back, it will grow back into your skin causing those dredded "Razor Bumps" that can really ruin the clean, fresh look you want.
Information was good overall, but shaving with a cartridge razor is no good double edged safety razors are the way to go. It’s a whole new world shaving technique and products.
I am very lucky, my beard grows super slow. I can go weeks without shaving and it will be about as long as you have in this video. Im 33, so its not an after puberty phase anymore. And it does grow into a full beard after a while. It just goes extremely slow. Saves so much time. So many guys need to shave every day.
Hi Jeff, Good video. Very informative. I noticed that you were using disposable razors. Do you get a good result with them? I have always struggled to do so. Keep up the good work. I always look forward to your posts. Cheers! Phil from Sydney, AU.
Faithful. O.G. Supporter! Especially with Sensitive skin. For the smoothest shave and most comfortable save I can get I must maintain a NOT A lukewarm . But a as hot as I can stand water for My skin.and get that Sharp Razor!! Keep it clean!!
I been shaving since I was 18-19 yrs old. I take my hat off to Jeff on using a straight razor b/c I can't do them. I have to use an electric trimmer because my skin bumps up really bad. If you suffer with dry skin washing your face before shaving helps a lot. If you use a electrical clippers it's best to periodically keep the blade oiled up so it doesn't go dull. I would say maybe every few yrs or so buy a new razor if it starts to go dull.
Ditch the plastic rubbish overpriced razors for metallic safety razors. Better shave, more green, cheaper in LT
I’m 71 years old and been shaving 55 years, good information here…was not aware of pre shave oil…
I've found that an antibacterial shaving gel with Teatree and aloe works well

I've been shaving for almost 40 years. So far, so good.
With that being said, there is valuable information in this video.
I've been shaving over 15 yrs. I had to learn the hard way. These tips are 100% fact . Take from someone whose been there, done that.
Style O.G. On Saturday. Awesome timing!
Enjoy!
Had to break out my Nivea cream and custom straight blade just for you cuz. Nice and smooth for the wife tonight 😮.
Never heard of pre-shave oil. Will definitely try that!

I use double edged blades, one side for the left and one side for the right then it gets tossed. Always a sharp blade.

Another great informational video Jeff!
Thanks!
I always disinfect my razor with alcohol
Wish i knew these when i was younger.
Me too!
Brother I love all your content , but tell me on your next video what Jean and jacket outfit place you shop at with a salute, thanks
Great 👍🏾 video, this is the first time watching a video of how to properly shave. Brotha you get a big Salute
Thanks Clifton!
Step over the border and all of theses games end.....Your dealing with American women. just step over the border and your a rock star
I don't know which direction my facial hair grows because it grows patchy
Great video. Fellas, start using a safety razor instead of the over the counter micro blade razors. Micro blades pull on your skin causing irritation.

When you use the prep shaving oil, can you still put the shaving cream on top of the oil and shave your head or face?
Thx
Yes, shaving cream right after pre shave oil
Do not waste your money on disposable razors. They shave like crap and don't last at all.
OG this is a little off subject but what can one do for a receding hairline?
Shaving is easy it’s the days after when the hair start growing that’s when the pain and itch comes
👏👏👏👏👏👏!

Same. I'll never cut my beard off. Good video though.

OG, do you have a video on skin care routine? Or for those of us brothas who keep our heads shaved?
Single blade all the way 💯 safety razor with an alum block
I shave against the grain all the time . The results are much smoother than with the grain alone.
Thanks for the info
Any time!
Great info video and I enjoyed it and have a blessed day
Thanks Michael!
