- Listening to farmer Lloyd Ballantyne’s raucous laughter, it would be difficult to imagine what he has been through this year.
It’s been eight months since I first met Lloyd Ballantyne salvaging what he could from his farm in Fancy after April’s eruption of La Soufriere volcano.
Back then, he dismissed as the volcano crop, the loss of the vegetables that he was about to harvest.
And, as we spoke on Dec. 15, Lloyd was tending to a field of cabbages..
