    My go-to channel between choir practice and Sunday service to try to make sense of the anthem!

    You have poured a tremendous amount of work into these videos and have done a great service to churches and choirs everywhere. You have saved me a lot of work now and in the future and you have spared my choir basses from having to listen to bass help tracks that I hastily throw together with a voice not as good as yours. Thank you and God bless you!

      Thank you! Yes - a lot of effort to do all of the hymns that most churches with a choir might be expected to sing, but hopefully worth it. I don’t think any of the other parts channels have done very many hymns. Glad to help!

    You've been a wonderful help with this bass part for the past 8 years where i sang in 2 different churches this for Christmas. it's best to return back and do fine tuning.. keep up the good work, keep adding more bass part..

    What a great help! My cousin (may she rest in peace) took pains to teach us the notes, but she is gone now. But you have done it very well, and I am practicing it for Holy Thursday this year! Thanks for your great contribution!

      It’s tough! Must have been some good singers around in the 1740s - they didn’t even get to hear what it went like first!

    You're an absolute star - two hours before we sing it, and I've had you on loop for quite some time! Thanks, and Merry Christmas.

    I sure could have used this 5 years ago for a concert I was in. Boy what a struggle that bass part was. I kept coming in with the Tenors.

    Another thanks to you. Our choir director is planning to have us sing this at the Easter Vigil this year and your post is a Godsend. However, I’m not sure how the other parts are doing.

    • @basshymn
      @basshymn  6 лет назад +2

      No problem. Yes, it’s hard - much easier to sing it in in a big choir where people can catch back up again if they get lost.
      Oh well, good luck!

    Thanks for sharing. I echo the sentiments of shortytimmy. Your videos are a big help to us struggling choir members. Do you ever do any PP Bliss hymns?

    other then just listening to this track,
    How would you go about learning to Bass?

    • @basshymn
      @basshymn  9 лет назад +2

      +Matthew Lambert I'm not very knowledgeable about the techniques of singing ... but I am quite good at sight singing! I think having a good understanding of written music helps a lot. I think I will make a set of videos helping people with sight singing after Christmas.
