Keeping old bikes running will keep you YOUNG.

AGREED. I DO NOT WANT TO LOOK BACK AT MY LIFE WHEN I GET OLD,,,,,,,,,,i am 79,,,,,,,,AND REGRET NOT GETTING A RIDE BECAUSE ON THAT DAY I RE ARRANGED THE SOCKS IN THE SOCK DRAW. RIDING COMES FIRST,,,,,,,,,,,everything else is just waiting,,,,,,,,,,quote from STEVE MCQUEEN in Le MANS.

Hello Windy, I'm about your vintage and, although I have lived in Minnesota for years, grew up outside Phila and am familiar with your roads. I agree that it's important to regularly lay your hands on the bikes and keep them clean -- especially older bikes. Tire pressures drop, the oil gets dirty, cable lines on the older bikes can get crusty, etc. But more than maintenance, there is something very satisfying about examining them closely with a rag in hand. And they keep us young, or younger. I typically ride every day and rely on my bikes for daily commuting, etc., even in the winter. To hell with age. I don't want to wake up one day and wish I'd taken another ride. Oh and this -- the 1100e is truly a fine wine.

SUZUKI HAD SO MUCH RIGHT AT THIS POINT IN TIME AND SO MANY ARE STILL LOVED BY THEIR OWNERS. MY 750 NINJA HAS 16 INCH FRONT WHEEL AND IS A NIMBLE STEERING BIKE IN EVERY WAY.

Sweet bike, awesome engine. I have an 85 GS1150E and I ride it and over maintain too. It's also the newest bike I own. It makes me feel 20 years old again and the bike brand new.

Its funny, I always cringe when guys my age (i am 28) start cutting up old bikes to make café racers. LIKE NO, look at how beautiful they age. And they only get more valuable and rare with age. They also have a lot more character. '
I salute you sir.. I also have some oldies (1980-1990s) in my collection that I plan on keeping for the rest of my life. I dream of being that granddad who still riding his gas powered 50 year old motorcycle amongst my grandsons riding some high-tech EVs

The E variant is ok it has the decent engine, the best is the EFE. That 16" front wheel, rear mono shock and anti dive brakes made it a beast. I had one striped down like a street fighter and ti was great. That 16" front made it turn in so fast it made it handle like a 250. I think it was the best air cooled bike ever made to ride in that size.

I just bought my GS 1100E same color as yours the bike have 15,000 miles I just added an oil cooler, telefix fork brace And case savers have to rebuilt carburators and adjust all valves and now I can feel the power versus my 82 Kawasaki KZ1100A2 and as you say I think this Suzuki will be a keeper.
