    You guys who say that Jim Meehan is a bad bartender, do you know who he is? He's one of the most well-known and successful bartenders in the world.

    Nice Job... I'm amazed how many bartenders can't make this drink. They usually present something looking like a road weary Mojito and taste as bad. Yours, my friend, looks, and I'm sure tastes, like the classic of old and I can smell the cold mint from here... Thanks!

    Thanks for the lesson. They were talking about making coffee tables and liking coffee, and I thought, why not a mint julep, and here it is, tasty.

    I love a good mint julep but I am always reluctant to order one at a bar because I have had too many that aren't any good (I've seen bars use creme de menthe for this drink). But I would definitely order one from this guy's bar any day. Well done.

      Some places fresh mint is very inaccessible unless you buy the plant and mind it at home. Where I’m at, the mint from the grocery is almost flavourless that the drink tastes Like straight bourbon and ice. Plus, that mint doesn’t keep well. Black dots appear on the leaves 3 days after buying it.. Growing the plant at home isn’t really an option because I’m always out of the house and sucks to have an extra responsibility anyways.

    A Bourbon-Mint Snow Cone complimented with crushed ice touched by his hand. That's what I call "Hand Made".

      I hope he washed his hands before making that drink. Otherwise your also drinking a hint of skin oil. 😂

    Good to use a higher ABV (like Bookers, but anything 50+%) works) as the ice dilutes this drink quite a bit

      Luis Duenas $60 a bottle. What would they charge for a Mint Julep drink at the bar using Booker's Bourbon?

    • @goat1065
      @goat1065 8 лет назад +3

      $15-18 depending on where it's at...
      And I'd pay it for a fucking Booker's Mint Julep that's prepared that well.

      @BiteThis 7 лет назад

      I do all my juleps with bookers. You want a higher proof like bookers for a heavy iced drink. I get my bottles of bookers for $40. They are talking about upping the price to $100

    • @BiteThis

      theyre awesome for the summer. refreshing way to drink bourbon. It is very bourbon forward at first, tastes best after a couple minutes when the ice has a chance to dilute a bit, balances out the drink.

  • @akkinator

    Do I have to use overproof burbon? I cannot seem to find any here.

      Look up "cask strength". You're bound to find something...

    • @BiteThis
      @BiteThis 7 лет назад

      you can use any bourbon but a higher proof, bolder flavor bourbon is better because the ice will dilute and you want your bourbon to hold up to it.

    • @alexpiedra24
      @alexpiedra24 2 года назад

      Super late to the party but it’s different because a smash is the addition of mint and lemon quarts or wedges whatever you prefer really . You’re getting the juice and oils from the lemon . Traditionally of course ,there so many variations on the smash .

      Noemi Pelagalli .... He's using Bookers Bourbon, after drinking one or two of those I don't think you would notice his hands on the ice. Bookers is delish.
