If soul eater does get a reboot, it'd be bittersweet for them to be a couple. On one hand, people will stop being annoying about it, and many fans will be satisfied. However, it would also ruin their friendship in a way, and the anime would, once again, stray from the manga. Needless to say, the initial idea of the anime keeping on going despite the manga not being finished, (kinda like game of thrones in a way) wasn't the best of design choices.
