  • This is the Promaster XC525 Tripod (one of the legs functions as a monopod)! This tripod is extremely versatile, and it also comes with a ballhead! The legs can adjust to a 180 degrees angle, which is perfect for stabilizing a low shot. It comes in three colors; red, blue, and black! Please excuse the crudeness of the video, I was very adamant about putting this video up, seeing as we have not uploaded a new video in a while. Thank you for your patience, enjoy!

Thanks so much for the speedy response! WOW! Anyway, I got a different head. I kept the old one as a back-up. I wanted a more "quick" release and the head that came with it is too slow to use that way but still nice. And thanks for the reply about the extra part! I would have NEVER figured that out! lol Thanks again! I love the tripod!

Great glad to hear! Yes there certainly are "quicker" release plates out there. Just make sure it's super tight every time, We've seen more cameras / lenses tumble due to a loose QR plate than I care to count...

There is no faster way to set up which is one of the cons of having a twist leg tripod; this is also a pro because YOU are in control- I know the legs are secure because I tightened them myself. I searched the internet for an owner's manual but unfortunately could not find one. At first it is rigid, but play with it- loosen it up! This is hands down my favorite tripod we have at our store, it just takes some getting used to. Yes that is for the monopod. Hopefully this helped! Enjoy!

2)The second tube with a strap is the "short column" to allow you to use the tripod practically at ground level. You would take the head off the regular column and put in on this one.
Again, let me have your local dealer get in touch with you, or you can give me a call. Let us know!

We can think of a few options, were you looking for a fluid head, 3 way head, video head.....? Head over to our web page (it's in our description page, can't link to it from here) and look under "tripod heads" to see the varieties...

Yeah it worries me whenever I take it on or off. It's a new Nikon D7100 with either a 24-70 2.8 or 70-200 2.8 so if it falls...holy moly... I don't even wanna think of that. I am already thinking about getting a bigger plate because both of them (original and replacement) are still pretty small. Do you recommend a good head thats big and sturdy?

Dajzilla- sorry for the lack of paperwork in your box... where are you located? Your local Promaster dealer will be more than happy to assist. But to answer your questions-
    1) The Release plate is a "double safety", you need to loosen the larger, rubberized knob first, then press in the smaller silver button to pop the head off.

I just bought this. It's a little awkward extending the legs with so many joints. Is there a faster way that I'm not seeing? It does not come with a manual. Also is the strap for when it is a monopod?

I just bought this and was surprised theres no manual. Wow... I mean, usually this sort of thing is pretty self-explanitory but I don't get the quick release plate, and whats up with the extra tube that has a strap? lol! WTH?
