    1 bag of red lentils
    1 medium onion, roughly sliced

    4 cups of water or broth
    Instructions:
    Set the Instant Pot to "Sauté" mode, and add the chopped onion and garlic. Sauté for 2-3 minutes until the onion is translucent.
    Add the cumin, turmeric, cloves, cinnamon, and salt to the pot and stir.
    Add the red lentils and 4 cups of water to the pot and stir well.
    Close the lid and set the Instant Pot to "Pressure" mode for 15 minutes.
    When the timer goes off, allow the pressure to release naturally for 10 minutes, then carefully do a quick release to release any remaining pressure.
    Open the lid and stir the lentils. If the lentils are too thick, add a little bit of water and stir again.
    Serve the lentils hot with rice or bread, or allow them to cool and store in the refrigerator for later use.
