I just received your fret tool today. It works even better and easier than it looks in your videos. Thanks for making such a great product. Ive been screwing frets up for years trying to get them just right and I was able to level, crown and polish them in about 20 minutes. About ten of those minutes was masking the maple fretboard. I was going to send you a pm about it but thought it would be better to put a msg on your video so if anybody was wondering , yes it really works that great and easy. Thanks again!
Great vid. The band was gifted a mandolin that's been sitting in someones closet for over a decade. I've got it on my table right now fixing it up. This saved me hours.
Thank you very much for your honest opinion. I can tell by how fast it takes you to do the frets before that you have a lot of experience and practice. I was able to get it to 11 mins. Still too much work when you do this all day. With this tool it's 5 minutes consistently. Thank you for your review and enjoy.
Look who I Found... Tool Works Great!!!!!
Super impressive, definitely surprised you crown frets like this!
I tried the link to get the tools you made it didn't work. Can you send a link please
That's really clever. I betcha that's a Loar.
Where Can I Find This?
Do you use the same block for guitar banjo and mandolin... or are they separate sizes for each instrument?
Ebay link does not work. Are these still available somewhere else or on Amazon?
How well does this process work with compound radius fretboard? Looks great for flat boards.
I did my Charvel with a compound radius with this technique and it came out fantastic. I just kept in mind where the flatter frets are and kept checking with a fret rocker. Also helps to mark the top of the fret with a marker to show you the frets that need more attention.
Where can your kit be purchased?
