  • Pine Mountain is another must ride dirt biking trail at Pozo/La Panza OHV. This trail is 7 miles long and you will be climbing to a maximum elevation of 3600ft. This first portion of the trail starting from the east side is a dirt road. The remaining portion of the trail to the Stepstairs section is technical and best suited for advanced riders, especially the descend portion on the west side of the mountain. The last segment after Stairsetps has some technical sections but should be ok for intermediate riders. Use this video to judge which portions are suitable for your skill level. Enjoy it!

I've ridden Pine Mountain several times many many years ago. As for the infamous stair step section, I can say that I've ridden down it once (walked my bike down a few times). Riding down the stair steps wasn't too difficult once you overcome the obstacles in your mind. In other words, its much more of a mental challenge than physical challenge.
Great video. It brings back lots on memories.

Nice video, it great to see the trail from another angle. I’m a local and have been riding Pozo for 30 years. One of the most important things to know about Pozo is that a vast majority of the locals ride in the Clockwise Direction. So if you make it to the Stair Step and divide to go back or ride from the road at the end be very careful because you’ll be going against normal traffic. Having a “head on” is no fun!

    I'm from this area.
Been down the stair steps, many times.
I can say that I was present when I saw a pro enduro rider go up it!!
    Everyone present was blown away!!!
I was told that it was Nathan Woods.
Cant confirm that, but someone in SLO county can. There were a dozen or so riders that were there, and witnessed it.(R.I.P. Nathan)

Those stair steps look daunting to ride down!
Great look at the trail system out there!

I’m from sacramento and my stomping grounds are chalk bluff, forest hill , sugar pine and Georgetown. Just looking to get out and learn some new terrain. Thanks again and the video qualities, content and narration are dead on. Great job!

Glad you like the channel. I've been now a few times to Georgetown and I really like it there. Waiting for the weather to cool down to go back. Planning to make a video of the park in the near future.

Right on. Plan to ride early in the morning, it gets pretty hot there this time of the year and there are no trees on most of the trails to give you any relief.

The toughest trail I’ve ridden is Happiness Valley at Carnegie. Did ok in the beginning but that soon changed. This looks much worse.
