Thank you very much for this. The tool is really good. Since this was the first plugin I installed for GIMP, I had no idea in what folders the files were supposed to go. You helped a lot. Thank you!
Thank you Michael. I just got a new computer and new gimp version - I really like the heal tool. Going to watch another of your videos on how to get the whole tool box to show- the newer version is a bit confusing for this older non-techy guy, but you make it easy - You are an Awesome Teacher!
Thanks! Glad I found your channel today. Easy to follow & very informative. I usually hate watching YT videos because it just takes so long to get to the point you want, but this is concise & I could follow on my end just by listening to you while minimized. Looking forward to learning about the heal selection next!
Thank you sooo much! Adult me had a hard time wondering why my teenage self enjoyed using timestamps and how to fix/remove them, thanks to this zip file and tutorial, I was able to fix my pics! :)))
On a windows system, if you open gimp, and go preferences > folders > Plug-ins, you can then select the folder with your plug-ins, and at the top right click on the file cabinet icon (show file location in the file manager). Just another way to get there, but without having to copy/paste the path.
Instead just hunt down the asshat who has the shit-ton of friends who approved the pull to screw up GIMP in its updates. That moron "fixed" what worked.
Hi, thank you for the video . I am facing a problem. Though I copy paste those plug in files in proper destination I can't find the features in Gimp filter . I use Windows. Thank you.
I keep seeing this video pop up when searching for a SilverChrome filter. I LOVED Eye Candy 7 chrome/reflective plugin, but Gimp/Resynthesizer doesn't seem to have anything close to doing so :( All I want to do, is simply create a selection and transform it into a shiny, metallic image! Can you please advise on how to do this within GIMP/Resynth or other plugins? Thank you.
I enjoy your tutorials and they have been very helpful. I did want to learn how to restore old photos which require Resnthesizer. I am on Gimp 2.10.22! In Github the readme file for this plug-in does not open.
I noticed you had a plugin for Beautify which looked like an EXE file application in your plugins folder. Where did you get that? That's what I was looking for when I came across this. Thanks for the rundown on Resynthesizer.
I followed all of these instructions to the T yet the plug-in features still do not appear as an option and in addition my GIMP is now unable to open any files reading "unknown file error" Any advice would be really apreciated...
Michael, I just got a new computer. Now I've loaded Gimp 2 10.24. I've lost my heal resynthesizer as well as my Script-fu plugins. Not happy about that. I tried doing what you suggested here. They files are in the correct place, but still isn't working. I hope I find a way to get this easy heal tool back. If you have another way, or if the new version has another way, please let me know. I tried reinstalling an earlier version. No luck there either.
Hello Michael, Ive tried using this with the latest gimp 2.10.30 but didnt work. If it still does then i might have installed it wrong. Could you do an update on this if it doesn't? thanks. Its such a powerful tool to have and why gimp doesnt include it in the vanilla program is beyond me.
Thanks for a clear information. I've tried github before, but it's a nightmare if you're not a coder/developer. I've tried many other plugins via the site, but often they are produced so you need linux or linux knowledge to actually install/implement the python code, which doesn't work easily (at all) in windows. Many of the developed plugins need to be installed via linux. This is the first one I've found that is just a 'copy and paste into the plugins directory' method :) On that note, do you have any suggestions for other plugins that are 'windows friendly'? Ideally, something to do quality noise reduction, sort of like Topaz Denoise AI?
I always follow you and I'm subscribed to your channel but I downloaded it from its creator's page but it doesn't work, it doesn't even register it, I have the gimp version 2.10.22, but I don't know, if the plugin is from 2017 it doesn't work, it doesn't I had on an old gimp but I lost it. Waiting for response from someone to help me.
this website is not longer accessible . we have to sing up , create an account and maybe pay to . is there an other website where we can download this plug-in?
Unfortunately haven't been able to download a 32-bit windows resynthesizer plugin that can pass a virustotal scan without reporting 1-2 injected malware in the .exe files.
Hey, I keep receiving error messages from gimp when I try to use this tool, like "gimp plug in returned no values" and "the dying plug-in may have messed up gimp's internal state. you may want to save your images and restart gimp to be on the safe side." Got any clue what went wrong?
installed it via sudo get apt install code on terminal and did the copy paste in the plugin map, stll not showing. Anyone can help this linux newbie user?
I'm trying to test the program, but when I do it, it's asking me "The texture source is empty. Does any selection include non-transparent pixels?" How do I resolve this issue? Thanks in advance

I tried to install that plug in and when I try to use it I got an error. An error occurred running python_fu_heal_Selection

When I first opened my plug ins folder it was completely empty, whereas yours had 5 things already in it. Is that normal??
Yup he has more filters so its completely normal u can add extra filter if u want
Was never sure do i have to copy the zip content or extract to a resynthesizer folder to the plugins folder like GMIC does!

You have to set the radius of the free selection tool to 0.0. Fixed it for me
