I have to agree with you. Not sure Why Lionel didn't come up with this,Especially with the military trains they have put out in the past. You're 100 % correct. absolutely gorgeous. Thanks for sharing the video.
Beautiful engine Sean! I'm amazed at how strikingly good that olive drab paint job looks, it kind of makes me wish locomotive builders used it a lot more than just basic black! Thanks for sharing it with us!
Really nice engine, Sean. I’m with you, I don’t buy anything for resale value. I buy what I like and run what I like. I don’t follow any singular road name. I don’t want to be roped into a singular road name for realistic purposes. After all , we re model railroaders using three rail track!
I think we all start of buying gang busters and then get more selective. It's a natural progression for a lot of us. Nice review. Lionel really did a nice job on these sans some of the lack of whistle steam on some. Nice review!
Ooh that could be cool. A few have had some issue with the tender drive set going the opposite direction that front wheels are going, lol. But Lionel already has a fix for it, so if you experience that do not worry! Just call them. But otherwise, I have to say I do like this one!
Sean, Very nice military train and a great engine too. Good luck with it. One small critique on the order of your consist. All the non flat car double stacks and boxcars should be grouped together and all the flatcars with vehicles should be with the vehicles all going in the same direction that way when then are pushed in front of the loading/unloading ramp they can be driven off with the tanks/trucks/strikers etc all going forward. You don’t want to drive a M48 tank in reverse over several flat cars when loading or unloading. All the non flat cars can be cut off together then the vehicles can be driven off going forward.
A great move on the part of Mr. Muffin to release the U. S. Army model of the Triplex. It's a sharp looking engine. Perfect colouring and great running. Too bad there are problems to repair. Seems to be a standard issue for Lionel. Too bad.
I'm not really into these huge...excruciatingly expensive Legacy steam engines. I will say the 1944 USATC TRIPLEX is amazing. It would be one i would buy if I ever found myself making drunk purchases again. BTW. Did you have to turn the headlight and marker lights on? I'm not 8nto this Legacy operating system but I do buy Legacy engines.
Wha the What? another expensive locomotive that you have to take apart to get everything working? I like the US army version. Steve at Mr. Muffins does a great job with his customer runs, but I think I will just stay with the MTH one. Lionel sure has some hits and misses.
So happy muffin used my designs! Glad to see my design came to life! Thanks for supporting my work!

Nice choice! I bought one to pull my military train with some custom loads!
Beautiful Triplex... I haven't had a chance to run my VL Army Triplex, but it is gorgeous engine... Thanks for the info on how many were made...
Sean, really nice paint scheme for the army train. Thanks for sharing.
You have some great army rolling stock, you had to get this engine! Great train!

Very nice engine Sean!!!
Great to meet you at York. I purchased the Norfolk and Western Tri-plex in the blue color. It should arrive in California next week.

I bought the army triplex as well along with the riogrande one to

Great video! Always face windshields to the rear or you're going to have a lot of cracked windshields, LOL
Yeah, good point!

It would also look good pulling the Area 51 recovery cars. Roswell happened in 1947, the time frame is perfect.

You can turn them on and off, they were on by default.
Glad the U.S, Army didnt use them Paton's army moved faster than a triplex could haul freight
