SPSS Database Preparation - Sinhala / SPSS Database හදන හැටි සිංහලෙන්

This is a fundamental SPSS tutorial for data analysis. Although this video is originally made for Medical Students, this gives a basic understanding about SPSS Database preparation for anyone who interested in learning SPSS.

To get a holistic understanding, each Attitude question was analyzed qualitatively and quantitively. For qualitative analysis we took Likert scale points towards expected positive attitude as ‘Preferred attitude present’ and others as ‘Preferred attitude absent’ and analyzed for frequencies.
For quantitative analysis of attitudes we used potential range of scores from -2 to +2, based on the 5-point Likert scale including the following: +2 = Strongly agree to expected positive attitude, +1 = Agree to expected positive attitude, 0 = Neutral, -1 = Disagree to expected positive attitude, -2 = Strongly disagree to expected positive attitude. And calculated the sample mean for each attitude question.

If you're familiar with excel you can generate a function / equation to get "expected positive attitude" or +2 to -2 score easily.

SPSS is a commercial software. You may request it from your university or workplace.

Shehan, Even with Yes / No type questions there are 3 options neh. 1 Yes 2 No 3 Not marked. Therefore its better to go with my way. You have to use 2 numbers for yes and no. Then Keeping blank is equal to not marked.

Sir, data view එකට number කිහිපයක් add කරගන්නේ kohomada. සමහර questionnaire වල answer 1,2,3,4 වගේ lable කරහම answer දෙක ,තුනක් add karanne කොහොමද

We use spss database mainly for analytical purposes. You may keep images in another database.
