  • Millwall 2 3 Norwich City
Live on ITV, both clubs near the top of the table. A great start by Norwich, a fightback by Millwall, great saves by Bryan Gunn and that goal by Flecky at the end to win it.

Norwich City had some fantastic sides in the 80s and early 90s . Played some brilliant football. Good footballing side . Before the real big money took a grip of English football.

If there is such a thing as your favourite defeat then this is mine. Was in the cold blow lane end, 11 years old, absolutely gutted when Fleck scored at the end. Quality match though, wall and Norwich hardly out of the top 3 all season. Great Times 🦁👍🏻

In January 1989 I was 8 years old and had become gripped by football after buying my first copy of Shoot a couple of weeks earlier. This was the first ever game I went out of my way to watch live on TV, just because it happened to be the first televised game after I bought that magazine. I've watched hundreds if not thousands of games since, but this one will always be special to me.

Absolutely. I know it was only highlights, but that game could have gone either way, it could also have finished 6-6 or something but for some excellent goalkeeping etc.
Back when football was allowed to flow, competative tackles were allowed when fair, and players didn`t consistently go down at the slightest touch.

Ipswich fan here (dont laugh!) I was in with the Norwich fans as I was at college in Leatherhead and thought I'd go and watch the game. Wearing the blue and white under my jacket sang my head off for the yellows and went mental when Flecky smashed in the winner. I ran under the barriers and climbed the fence screaming. I lived in Thetford at the time and was at the Sutton game the week previously, Norwich had a tremendous side back then, even better than the team that qualified for the EUFA Cup in 1993. Watched a load of Norwich home games that season, some great results and magnificent players. I just want my tractor boys to get out of the quagmire of league one so we can recindle the old farm derby. Sadly, its not looking good atm..........

Ipswich put Burton to the sword also, great 4-0 win, if only Plymouth and the hooters (Sheffield Wednesday) can lose a few games. Here's hoping, long way to go. Enjoy the walks with the pooches!
